Life's twists and turns can be unexpected.
I chose this drama because of its unique concept. This drama takes place in a world where cisgender men can give birth as well. This concept initially creeped me out. But then I thought, "Why not?" So, I decided to give it a try. And I’m so glad I did.The drama is one-of-a-kind and extremely well-executed. The story raises awareness about a variety of issues that should be taken seriously, as well as teaches us some valuable lessons:
1. The roles that a man and woman "should" take on when having and raising a child. Is it really required? Should there be a division of responsibilities?
2. This refers to the difficulties that a person faces when preparing to give birth, whether it is a man or a woman.
3. It also teaches us the importance of staying true to ourselves and how it shapes who we are.
4. Last but not least, the implementation of transgender people's pressures. This is not said directly, but this sure magnifies this. People should accept and value a transgender's individuality. Transgender discrimination, in my opinion, should be considered a crime punishable by law.
All of the actors and actresses in this drama are excellent. But, in particular, for the male lead, who played the pregnant Hiyama Kentaro. He was a perfect fit for the character.
This is unquestionably a must-see. This may not be much of an entertainer for some, but it does provide us with a glimpse of the reality faced by trans men, but from the perspective of an ordinary man. I wholeheartedly recommend this drama to anyone and everyone.

unexpected things happen in life one after the other
Do I think this drama should’ve been from the point of view of a trans man? Yes.Do I also understand that the issues this drama brings up more people would be willing to listen if it was portrayed through the eyes of a cisgender man? Sadly also yes.
I went into this drama very sceptical and had been sceptical about it ever since I read the plot description because storylines like this one almost always tread in transphobic waters. But I came out of this drama pleasantly surprised. The writers knew exactly what they were doing to grab people's attention, bringing awareness to topics that sadly society doesn't take seriously from pregnant people. The discussion on the idea of what "roles" men and women "should" take when it comes to having and raising a child was done brilliantly. Every member of the cast did an amazing job at portraying this story with such care.
The one thing I am a little disappointed on is after really the first episode the erasure and lack of mentioning of pregnant trans men and how they could most likely relate to a lot of the struggles and curiousity that we see multiple of the pregnant cis men go through within the drama. But other than that I did enjoy this drama and I think it did exactly what it was set out to do.

Unexpected surprise
A mirror on the life that every woman must live but carried by a man.The subject being treated is very delicate and current. I had reservations because I couldn't imagine how they could carry on the theme without becoming banal and cringe. After only the first few episodes I realized that they are committed to treating the subject with sympathy and lightness but without lacking in great depth. The actors completed the series optimally.
Absolutely recommended to have a new interpretation of the current career / maternity / society situation.

A Fascinating Flip On Parenthood
What would the world be like if men were working, birthing parents? Would work conditions improve, or stay the same? Would women be empathetic? Would bosses be more humane? These and many other issues, are explored in this clever modern drama. One of several recent dramas brought into the Netflix stable, the show is 8 episodes of pleasant and enjoyable surprise. Written with pathos, intelligence and quirky humour, this drama clearly highlights, without lecture, how far society has come and how much further to go, in advocating for new parents and families. Short episodes, a well chosen lead, good pace and some really intuitive developments. Even in 2024, it’s easy to see there is a lot of room for advancement. Enjoy! 🌟👋 F

An exploration of gender roles in Japanese society
Thought this was gonna be one of those weird Japanese shows but it was surprisingly thoughtful. I find it hard to find jdramas that suit my taste because of the clash in cultural values and all that but this was very enjoyable. I enjoyed the social commentary on gender roles, the high production values, the good balance between crack and seriousness and bite-sized episodes. Also I have good memories of this show because I had an interesting discussion with my sensei about gender roles when I mentioned this show to her lolol.

What is being motherly or fatherly feel, when the roles are reversed!
I started this drama just out of curiosity. But never expected it to leave a unimaginable message to the world. It's new, fresh and endearing journey of a man being a parent and his environment to his acceptance. If you feel grossed about the idea of a man being pregnant, then definitely you should watch this. The story is not perfect but VERY realistic in the sense of humanity. It's a lifetime visual experience in this world where prejudice prevails and we let it happen intentionally. FYI- in this drama he's neither gay nor a transgender. Rest is upto your curiosity (˘ᵕ˘)
A Must watch!
I'll still be questioning myself if he's the mother or father of the child by definition. Amazing!

interesting and quick watch
When I saw this on Netflix, I mostly turned it on because it was short and because I was curious if there would be any queer elements to it. I can't say that this is the best show I've ever seen, but I really don't have any objective complaints about it -- more than anything, it felt pretty 'normal' levels of interesting, not outstanding. I think it has a nice message and has good moments of humor and emotions. For the time they had to work with, I think the show does a good job of showing us the important moments of Kentaro's pregnancy and the progression and changes in the relationships shown. If you're looking for something quick to watch that won't make you too emotional the whole way through, isn't too fluffy or comedic, and has a foot in reality (despite the whole 'cis men getting pregnant' aspect lol), this is a good choice.
SPOILERS BELOW:
On a subjective level, there were times I felt a bit bored or just wanted to hurry up and get to the next plot point. Also, I was glad that Aki and Kentaro didn't really seem to get into a romantic relationship. I enjoyed their friendship and the scenes of them co-parenting at the end were cute but I don't think they had the right kind of chemistry to portray like, falling in love with each other. So I was pleased they ended in the places they did, and that they didn't have to give up themselves to the roles of Mother and Father. Also the baby was very cute but since I can't read any Japanese I have no idea if they were a boy or a girl? Lmao it doesn't really matter but I thought I'd mention it

A Heartwarming Story Through a Wacky Plot.
TLDR: A wacky and outlandish but tender plot with respectful social commentary and good themes and messages.── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅ ── ⋅ ⋅

►Interesting role reversals.
►Good pacing.
►The wacky setting and plot.
►Good (and progressive) social commentary and themes.
►Overall production quality.
┊┊WHAT I DISLIKED:
►Some plot threads were a bit rushed/glossed over.
►No transman representation.

LONG VERSION:
┊┊CHARACTERS:
The two leads are workaholic friends-with-benefits (I believe anyway, their relationship status is ambiguous throughout the entire drama). ML goes from being a corporate slave at the peak of his game to a softer, more understanding version of himself, still fighting for his dreams but now with a fresh perspective and more respect not only for himself but also for those around him. FL is the typical douchy-boyfriend character. She fluctuates between being supportive and not depending on what's in it for her 9/10 times. In the end she does come around but it takes a bit. Though I didn't dislike her as much as others apparently did, I did think her character could've been tackled better. Because of all this, this drama is NOT a romance (which I admittedly thought it was despite not seeing the genre or tag anywhere, whoops).
Supporting characters were all quite nice and served their purpose well. ML makes a bunch of pregnant male friends, and we get to see others' experiences as well—albeit, admittedly brief.
┊┊ACTING:
Very solid. I honestly bought everything pretty much everyone was selling me without a second of doubt. ML especially delivered (heh) the process of acceptance so nicely, going from confused and angry to slowly understanding more and becoming more gentle. Some supporting roles were more 'eh' but no one broke immersion, so still a win!
┊┊STORY:
The plot is wacky and outlandish, yes. An immediate turn-off for a lot of people, but once you settle into the absurd premise, the story told is respectful and tender. The reversal of roles IS what sets this drama apart from similar social-commentary dramas, and that's personally a win in my book. Some things that should've been addressed due to the premise unfortunately weren't (yes, the 'how' mostly), but at the same time, it wasn't that big of a bother. They worked well with the setting and gave various perspectives on the situation.
As for the themes, I must say, I was positively surprised. With such a wacky plot, it could've easily turned into a laughing stock or a mock, but that didn't happen. They took their story seriously and used it to tackle themes of diversity, inclusivity, labels, feminism, gender roles, and general expectations tastefully and respectfully without really being preachy. Admittedly, a transman character was greatly lacking, and I feel this would've elevated the story tremendously, if even only as a supporting character.
The pacing is very well done; the show neither drags nor feels rushed despite being only 3 hours long. Even the conclusion felt satisfying, wrapping up everything with a nice little bow. Honestly, I don't really have a whole lot of complaints.
The only issue, which was more of an unfortunate thing than an issue, would be the fact that certain arcs, mostly those relating to the lead's parents (FL especially), weren't all that developed.
┊┊ANYTHING ELSE:
Pretty much everything else about the drama was good. The music was good to honestly, really good; I enjoyed quite a few tracks. Production value was also very solid! The drama even has some comedic scenes despite the overall more grounded tone. Overall, I have like no complaints!

◇ Was it what I was expecting? Yes.
◆ Did it live up to its potential? Yes.
◇ Would I watch it again? Yes.
◆ Would I recommend it to others? Yes, as long as they can handle wacky premises.

confusão é a palavra perfeita para descrever o que estou sentindo
Eu fui fuçar uns doramas aleatórios por ai e achei esse. A capa chamou muito a minha atenção.O gênero dele: vida.
A vida do dorama onde é normal OS HOMENS ENGRAVIDAREM KKKKKKKK
No final eu gostei. O nome do bebê deles é estranho, mas é divertido. Sei lá kkkkkkk tô confusa. Um misto de emoções confusas. É isto!Eu fui fuçar uns doramas aleatórios por ai e achei esse.
