It's ok
Not the most awesome drama in history but it's entertaining and very well acted. I have already read the webtoon it's based on but I am not comparing them. I see it as its own story.So my main issues with this drama are :
- I could barely stand Si Eun and found him very dislikeable. Personal preference. No hate.
- I wish the trio relationship and characters would have been way more developed. We barely see them actually interacting with each other before it got dismantled. What do they actually love in each others ? What do they each bring to each others ? What do they see in each other ? I wished we could have actually learned more about them through one another and see them change positively thanks to their bond, before it started to break down and regress because of the inherent character flaws they had (well, especially Beom Seok's character flaws). It was brushed too quickly, so it didn't impact me that much. I didn't have enough material to actually feel involved and really care about their relationship, and the characters on their own even.
- The reason their relationships broke wasn't developed enough either. Because of Young Yi? Beom Seok was insecure and got jealous + the return of those bullies that traumatised him (as if he wasn't enough with his dumbass father), I got that, but it happened very quickly, and because their friendship wasn't very interesting in the first place (imo) it just happened like that and didn't really make me feel like it mattered much.
- I didn't like the OST. Too cheesy. Just isn't fitting imo.
Other than that, the pacing is ok, acting is definitely good, characters are interesting. Beam Seok is a very good, very flawed and very tragic character. Fights ARE awesome. I loved watching them. Ending is good, heart wrenching but appropriately done, I think.
So yeah. I liked it but I didn't love it.

Dropped Halfway In
Dropped halfway in, I think another overrated show on the list.I got a bit tired watching a protagonist that 24/7 looks like he wants to cry. I kid you not, watch it yourself, it always looks like he's about to cry. Couldn't care much more for his other buddies. The dialogues and many of the action sequences lack the usual urgent, thriller feel. I also watched this based on episode 1 which showed a calculating, butt kicking main character. However, after the first episode, his first big conflict was approached in such a goofy, foolish and naive manner that made me wonder "what happen to that guy we saw in the first episode?" After that, I just lost my drive to watch. I honestly thought I was going to see some nice, calculating, bad guy butt kicking but end up being bored and disappointed. And again, watching a main character that keeps walking around like he's about to cry or he's high on some kinda drugs all the time, no thanks.

I see this being compared to DP, which is a masterpiece...both these dramas are melodramas whose OSTs feature the same artist (Meego), but that's where the similarities end.

Por fin me decidí a darle una oportunidad y debo decir que valió cada maldito segundo. La empecé por la tarde y la terminé en la madrugada con dolor de cabeza y una mezcla de emociones. Quedé encantada con Park Jihoon y sin dudas mi descubrimiento actoral del año se lo lleva Choi Hyunwook, su personaje me conquistó desde el primer momento y dependí de él hasta último minuto. Sin dudas me impactó mucho el giro que tomaron los acontecimientos y todavía sigo llorando y sufriendo por ello.Ahora bien, mi 9.5 está justificado. La razón por la que siento que este minidrama no es un 10 se debe a que me molestaba mucho que no hubiese adultos funcionales a los acontecimientos, que nadie hiciera nada, que ningún profesor intersediera en las peleas, ni siquiera la policía fue util y ni hablar de los padres de SiEun que solo estaban ahí para recordarnos que el chico no es huerfano. Si bien esos detalles son funcionales a la trama una parte de mi esperó hasta último minuto que algún adulto fuese lógico y terminara con todo pero no. Otro motivo es que sentí el final flojo, realmente no hubo justicia para Sooho y hasta dan a entender que al final tanto él como su abuela se quedaron solos y eso me dejó devastada. Espero que esos detalles no se olviden en la segunda parte y que SiEun logre hacer justicia real y no sólo una que siga hundiendo su vida.

does justice to the webtoon
i have already finished the webtoon which consists of 266 chapters....this adaptation is the best....and one little thing for you'll that the real story haven't even begun yet......this was the back story to how a normal student becomes a badass one....the main story will start and the school he is transferred to now...the Eunjang.....and considering how great the webtoon itself is...there is content available of like 4 - 5 season minimum.....lets hope that they make it right...also interested people can read the webtoon ...it is really captivating....just a little changes in names have been made...that in drama he is si-eun yeon while in webtoon he is Gray yeon...other that that everything is just on point....hell I remember when I started this webtoon I was so eagerly waiting for someone to make its adaptation.....I even messaged some of the animation studios in hopes that they would make it....Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Steers away from the comics enough to keep its readers entertained, but pales in comparison
I'm going to again start out by mentioning how ridiculously high scores are on MDL - it's like, if something was good, it has to be a 9 or 10, and if something is 5, that means it's God-awful!NO! 1 is terrible, 5 is middling a 10 is the best sh*t you've ever seen in your life!
That said, my rating reflects my honest opinion of this, based on a RELIABLE rating system, and I by no means hated it.
After the first episode of this, I was worried that it would be a direct live-action copy and paste, although the beating at the end of the episode was nowhere near as satisfying as it was in the comic.
Luckily, the creative team behind this chose to alter things, so that those who have read the comic wouldn't feel like this was a waste of time; paradoxically, that also ended up costing this quite a bit. You see, there's this really stupid sub-plot for a few episodes about how the gang takes down some loan-shark... yeah, kind of like Scooby Doo but with some violence tossed in! It was a really, really weak and unbelievable arc that, thankfully, was quickly brushed aside to focus on the main story.
I'll point out now that the acting in this was damn good!
I don't usually comment on the acting so much, but this would've failed utterly had the cast not pulled off their roles so well.
I won't go too much into things and risk ruining it all, but I ended this being, extremely disappointed that a certain recording wasn't spread online and the abusive scum-politician exposed because of it, which really left a sour taste in my mouth of how the absolute root cause of everything got away completely! It also meant that the main villain escaped too, and also the vigilante-style justice that only one of the antagonists actually properly received. So that was incredibly disappointing too, wanting to see certain people being unable to ever hold a pen again(!), or at least ending up in juvie, thanks to the aforementioned clip not being circulated.
In the end, it was a pretty good drama I'd recommend to younger adults, but a bit too immature and unrewarding for anyone older, or those who have already read the comics.

I really REALLY like this show
Other than the great casting, the show itself is just, muah, chef's kiss.The emotions that are portrayed feel so real and is conveyed very well by the actors.
Other than that, it doesnt feel corny or copied like other shows can feel, it instead feels very unique and original (I know it's based on a webtoon, but ykwim)
Moreover the open ending left off so well to introduce season 2 even though I'm sad that Choi hyun wook will be in that season. I look forward to seeing more of this show and it's definetely a great and thrilling watch!
I recommend strongly, on my mother, it's amazing!

Gritty and brilliant
They say usually the source material is usually better than the movie production - that is not the case here. The series is as good, if not better than the webtoon, with outstanding acting and great plot. Jihoon did a really great portrayal of his character, so much so it's hard to tell he's an idol actor. I watched the drama twice in one sitting when it came out and am on the edge of my seat for Season 2.The ending of the first episode is shocking and unexpected. The rest of the show is exactly like that - the plot does not disappoint.

This was sooo good the actors played their characters well especially park ji hoon like when he slapped himself I felt it.Beom seok was a prick with a inferiority complex who took out his family problems and his insecurities on others.
Si eun was a psycho and I loved it the look in his eyes was perfect to show how much of a psycho he is. At least he's a good friend who fought for hi friends unlike Beom seok
Soo ho is such a good friend who will do whatever it takes to protect his friends and I love that.
I'm convinced that the bullies had nothing to do with their lives so they bully kids whom they feel inferior to (most talking about yeong bin)
The only problem I have with this drama is that it is too short I need more soo I can protect my sanity. If the directors don't release a season 2 we gonna fight. I highly recommend this drama to ppl who like this kind of genre and those who don't like this kind of genre this series may be an opening to this genre

Best I've seen
I didnt see this until 2023 and I think this is my favorite so far. Binged it in one because I could not wait to see what would happen the next episode.Park Ji Hoon is incredible in this series. He has such an amazingly expressive face, especially his eyes. He absolutely carries it and the reason I also then watched 'from a distance spring is green.'
The reluctant between Si Eun, Soo Ho and Beom Seok is wonderful, they have great chemistry and their acting is very strong in this series. Soo Ho brings some much needed comic relief at times. It makes the heartbreak even worse for what happens in the end. The last two episodes are an emotional rollercoaster and I cried like a baby.
Absolutely worth the watch, just keep tissues at hand.

Ten stars in some eyes stands perfect. Nothing is perfect in thisworld, this show and the characters story showed us that better
than anyone ever could.
it showed that even if you have something people want it doesn't
mean you're happy. it doesn't mean you have the happiness which
people should be glad to have.
being silent doesn't mean you accept. accept all the things that are wrong in our world, in the fictional world nor the universe.

Beom (one of the characters) you know i hated you. I hate you, even though I understood
you, I understood you so well that it hurt. I watched as you burned
inside but instead of you extinguishing that fire you let it escape
and burn all those around you.
I know sometimes it easier to become the monster that you once
feared and ran away from . And I believe that humans are not born
bad, bad persons are born when life beats them up until they can't
see clear and they have nothing to feel. I don't want to believe in
monsters of birth but Beom still I stopped believing in you. I know
just you're lost. The darkness broke all the lights on the path you
chose, but I really hope you can light them again. .

It's true that the reckless violence in this story, it's not right and
seeing it makes me even more sad because our worlds in reality is
quite similar.
People shed blood until the other gives up. Some are ready to bleed 'till the other is nothing but a memory and some burned dust.
When you protect someone with the pounces you give and take it's blurs the line of wrong and right, and it's true nothing is just black and white. That's why I loved watching this show, thinking about
how the things the characters did were rightful or how they were
just so wrong and that why they broke me.
In the end I loved it. This was a little much to my brain and heart
because I cried and cursed so much because of certain
character(s) ... I am not pointing fingers here. okay!
If you like good acting,
a good story where the plot isn't too hard to follow
violence with really amazing fighting scenes
and maybe hating some characters and choosing sides I say watch
this series.... if you don't like those things.. then still watch it
watch it for Park Ji Hoon
