Another Korean drama of Kim Tae Ri who took on the main protagonist role who strived for their goals and faced obstacles they had alongside the way

Jeong Nyeon character in webtoon was inspired by Kim Tae Ri's Sook Hee in The Handmaiden. Both are women centric and starred by South Korean actress Kim Tae Ri.

Both tell the story of a theater drama artist's struggle from zero with all the obstacles. But in Jeongnyeon there is a queer element in the story

Both shows are about women who dreams to become a great artist/performer. The major differen ce though is that Hwang Ji Ni also focuses on the lovelife of the female lead while living as an artist/performer while Jeong Nyeon doesn't seem to be that way.

Both shows are set in 20th century with traditional performing arts (in Winter Begonia - Peking opera, in Jeongnyeon - pansori) as the main theme and setting.
Both have motif of "following your dreams" in performing.

It takes place in the same time period. It is a female centered series. It has sapphic/queer characters. Hardworking women fighting for what they want.

If Jeong Nyeon is a pansori genius, Shin Yun Bok is a traditional Korean painting genius. Both are childish but ambitious with their respective craft.
Both shows have homoerotic subtext between women.
