Values versus reality
This was a very well written series. It had a complex developed plot for only eight episodes. The series presented the dilemma of a palliative care healthcarer.On the one hand you have the sanctity of life and on the other hand you have the compassion toward continued unnecessary pain in a terminal patient. This is probably one of the few BL series that dares to address a controversial societal issue.
The sexual tension and attraction of the two male leads was palpable. Unfortunately the relationship between the two men was doomed from the beginning. Both the palliative care doctor and the policeman had unwavering convictions related to their respective professions. I will definitely watch this again because the quality of this series was excellent.

SPARED ME THEIR MERCY
The Drama is all about Mercy Killing whether it Ethical or not, if we will be studying the story or what this drama is all about, this will be a huge discussion that not some opinion could be enough to make it convincingly right or wrong as everyone have a different opinions--same has gone with the leads of this Drama, The Doctor who performs mercy Killing and the Police who stands at the law.It is too cruel that of all the worlds unfairness they would fall in love and both of their perceptions have to compromised as The Police's Mother happens to be one of the the Doctor's patient and have them mercy killed.( Mercy Killing is not the exact word used in this drama but this is more understandable to me so I used it )
as chaos up rise due to multiple mysterious killing The police at the end was able to stand on his values even when he has to put to Jail the person he became fond unto .. The Doctor.
Great Actors have come together inside this drama everyone was excellent on their representation of their characters , facial expressions and perfect dialogues made this drama excellent. This has broken the BL stereotype that we usually know that made it extra special and moving as you try to go through with it
There was no much romance on this drama but it was perfect with, the ending seems to be not complete but the way it ended was perfect that made us conclude on ourselves what happens next after the last scene
It was perfect , it was exceptional . I really do hope people out there will do more BL like this definitely a recommendable one

Suspenseful and Thrilling
I was really excited to watch Spare Me Your Mercy when it started airing because I'm a sucker for crime dramas. The premise of this one was especially unique - catching a killer that might not even be the bad guy? The cast was absolutely incredible, and the show had me on the edge of my seat every episode. I do wish this was a 10-12 ep series instead, just because there were a few things I wish they could have explored deeper, but it is absolutely worth the watch.Tew (JJ) is a detective who decided to transfer to a rural town to be near his mom, who is dying of ovarian cancer with only a few months to live. However, right as he goes to see her after transferring, he learns she has passed away months before the doctor said she would. Hurt and confused, Tew does to talk to Dr. Kan (Tor), the palliative care expert in the town. Kan explains that this isn't uncommon with terminally ill patients and Tew doesn't think too much more about it - until terminally ill patients start dying prematurely all over this rural town. With few suspects and a growing suspicion of Kan, Tew tries to keep him close; Kan seems to be trying to keep Tew close as well, and though he says it's because he's developing a crush on him, Tew remains unconvinced. Unclear motives from both parties create tension in this slowburn relationship, and as more and more deaths occur prematurely, the need to find out the truth may outweigh any feelings the two have for each other.
This show was truly incredible. I would recommend watching for the thriller/suspense/mystery elements more than the relationship, because truly the story is about the deaths and not the romance. However, JJ and Tor do an amazing job portraying these characters. A cold and tough detective determined to find out the truth paired with the bright and kind doctor was a great match. The acting, effects, and writing were all fantastic. Plot twists weren't necessarily predictable, but they were built into the story well enough to not feel like I was being blindsided by nonsensical twists in the story. The framing of certain scenes to intentionally throw the viewer off was super fun too. Even though I thought they could have played up the tension in the relationship and that a few more episodes would have helped flesh some things out more, I thought the story was fantastic and loved the way it wrapped up. One of my favorites of 2024 for sure.

Another masterpiece to make you fall in love with P'Sammon's writing
The story asks an important and really controversial question, next to "To be or not to be?"; which is- is it okay to perform Euthanasia?Just as the name of the original story goes, and the name of series is in line with the meaning of the story.
The story really keeps you on edge, making you guess who the suspect might be, and yet still, it makes your mind boggle as yet new hint points keep coming up- right when you feel like maybe you got the point.
P'Tor as well as P'JJ have really done amazing job. I really the acting when the actors speak with their eyes- it shows how great an actor they are.
As you go on with each episode, you keep on suspecting one character, yet you really don't want to do that. And till the end, I was not convinced with the overall idea of Euthanasia, but the last episode made me change my mind again. Whether anyone should get it done, and whether anyone should do it, rather has any right to do it- is the question that stays till the end, and they have been beautifully answered by the characters and their decisions in the end. Yes, that's what the end means.
It will not give you a conclusion, but will set you free to make your own opinion.
Yet another story that makes me a lifetime fan of P'Sammon's writing ❤️

"Spare Me Your Merci" - Uma Decepção no Final
Eu realmente queria gostar desse dorama, mas, infelizmente, não foi o que aconteceu. O começo até parecia promissor, com uma boa premissa e alguns momentos de química entre os personagens. Porém, o desenrolar da história foi bem ralo e sem muito impacto. Não senti aquela profundidade que normalmente espero de um BL. E o pior de tudo, o final foi um completo desastre! Não consegui me conectar com as resoluções e o que poderia ter sido um final emocionante acabou se tornando frustrante. Eu esperava mais desenvolvimento, mais emoção, mais conexão entre os personagens... mas infelizmente, nada disso aconteceu. Não posso deixar de dizer que a experiência foi bem decepcionante. Com tantas outras opções por aí, essa definitivamente não entra na minha lista de favoritos.
Se você está procurando por algo mais impactante e com uma trama mais sólida, eu diria para procurar em outro lugar.

A true cinematic masterpiece; watch it, trust me
This series is so beyond the typical mystery BL that it almost feels unfair to put it in that category. The plotline is interesting and the romance is very heartfelt. The internal struggles of the characters is incredibly well done and though it seems predictable at first, there are many unexpected twists.The mystery genre as a whole can be very hit or miss, plot twists are often so unexpected that they don't make sense with the story or characters, but Spare Me Your Mercy does it right. It subverts your expectations without breaking the flow of the story.
The cinematography is fantastic and adds to the eerie feeling, as does the music. Though I will say, there are some scenes where the music score is unnecessarily dramatic, but I guess it adds to the 'something bad could happen at any moment' vibe.
And the ending is truly one of the best endings I've ever seen. The show stays authentic to the characters and story until the very end. Every loose end gets wrapped up and I was left feeling completely satisfied.
There are a couple "oh my god, why would you do that?!"/"that's so stupid" moments but it wasn't enough to affect the viewing experience (at least for me). Also I know some of the medical practices aren't 100% accurate but it's probably close enough as long as you aren't using this drama to study for med school exams.

Dignity of self determination vs the Law
A very competently made thriller with an interesting topic and romance that builds as the mystery unravels with great experienced acting, chemistry, and production all around. It was fascinating how at the beginning of the series Dr. Kan was a bit ambiguous as to what his intentions are, very well played by the actor, then through Kan the audience learns about euthanasia and what that means as a consenting act that enables people to end their pain in a dignified way as the very last resort. The show makes sure to show how exactly it differs from murder. His love interest Captain Thiu has a very black and white view of the law, which is very ironic being a gay man without a more nuanced view that just because something is against the law, doesn't mean it's necessarily wrong, and it could be something that law needs to be changed for.Kan's ultimate weakness was that he goes above and beyond for his patients, leaving evidence that could be traced back to him around despite his mentor's advice to be careful. The featured queer relationships all end in tragedy with lesbian couple that the doctor met with the terminally ill partner making a do not resuscitate order, but her fiancé keeps destroying them, refusing to let her dying partner make that decision for herself. The partner ultimately getting murdered by pharmacist Boss who also killed his his sugar daddy lover Dr. Som who wanted to expose Kan with Boss delusionally thinks he's helping Kan.
After finally kissing and implied consummating their relationship, Kan was tracked and followed by Thiu to the conversation he has with the coroner that turns out to be his mentor's estranged daughter leaves his fate up to Thiu who chooses to hug and arrest Kan while also professing his love to him for the first time. Kan can only cry in silence. Merry Christmas to the viewers who watched the finally on 12/25/24. This is a very competently done thought provoking drama. The ending leaves room for a continuation, but can also be left finalized as a doomed romance and starter for the conversation for euthanasia, the right to determine with dignity and standardized painless procedures on how to end one's journey on earth.

everyone should watch this
this series is so unique for so many different ways. I actually loved how the romance wasn't actually the main focus of the story, but the two main leads had such insane chemistry. the storytelling was perfect and always kept me guessing, having plot twists that made sense and made the story more interesting and complex. I don't think until I watched this that I can say that a BL series has made me question my own beliefs and morals, but Spare Me Your Mercy did exactly that. it was a powerful commentary on the fact that the law does not always have ones best interest in mind. everything about this series is amazing to me, and I am really really hoping for a season two. also Tor and JJ did absolutely amazing in this I am definitely a fan of both of them now. Morality vs Love
Came here for the plot and philosophy of euthanasia and got a nice dose of complicated romance. It was doomed yaoi from the start but I HAD HOPE! It was 0.5% but it was something! Tew’s inherent nature to doubt people and also his implied demisexuality slowed the pace of romance, but it came together for a big bang (figuratively and physically lmao) of their bittersweet ending. Kan was the centre of the show, he really pulls you in and I wasn’t bored for a second.I think the story does a well balanced depiction of euthanasia and has characters for and against it. My only drawback would be exploring a case of a patient not being fully cognisant of authorising consent (it was almost there but not exactly what I’m talking about). It also showed how doctors/nurses can misuse/wrongly perform euthanasia without giving patients consent, dignity or peace :( but also had a fair share of lovely but sad cases where euthanasia was a god-sent for the critically ill. The last euthanising scene of Tew’s mom had me tearing up, just packed with emotions and GOD that last scene broke me. What a finale!

A beautiful piece
[DISCLAIMER: I am just writing this so that it stays on my profile. Like I do often with series I rate a 10. And lot of the stuff I vent about are often repeated by me]OVERALL:
I just finished it and am still hungover. I usually watch something else to distract from the previous series but I want this to last a bit longer. From the beginning it felt a bit different, and it was. Almost every episode was gripping, they kept a good pace and ended at an acceptable point. And the last episode, especially last few scenes were amazing.
SOMETHING SPECIAL:
One of the reason being, BL tag often ends up being a glass ceiling. The expectations is usually just for a light hearted fluff or sexual exploits of hormonal men in love, and that's what most try to deliver. Plots and acting is sadly not stressed on a lot. Normal protocols include : throw in a popular "couple", slap on a few provocative scenes, and despite having very promising plotlines, just not care about it. BUT this was a an all rounded drama and I loved it a lot.
PLOT:
The premise is delicate, complex and very much of a gray area. Personally, I could feel and see distinctions between what I considered "right" and "wrong" in this series. It helped that (much like the time when I was watching Dexter) my thought process made me feel legally wrong doesn't always need to be morally wrong.
CAMERAWORK:
The cinematography, was good. The lighting and filters stayed true to the mood of the story.
DIRECTION & WRITING:
Story has a good flow, directed pretty well.
SOUNDTRACK:
I became a huge fan of both the opening credit and OST of this series, again, suits the whole aura of this series very well.
ACTING:
Like another review already mentioned, almost everyone did a great job. Leads were exceptionally good. The chemistry was not overly stressed on but it was very much there. Their thoughts, empathy, sense of duty, internal struggles were all portrayed very well, even when it was without words. I am a fan of both the leads, and even plan to see what their other works have been like!

best bl serie i watched, 10/10 i highly recommend everyone to watch itno matter how much i talk about this it will not give it justice, this is very well done, amazing plot ,amazing chemistry (watch until the end) and it talks about serious topics that need to be discussed
life is a very gray zone not black or white it shows ,same about those characters, sometimes it makes you question whats right and wrong
the main topic is Euthanasia, in some countries its legal in some its not, laws doesnt always give you peace and sometimes it doesnt align with what you feel that you need to do ,so what will you do, will you stay in the path that you dont believe in or do what feels right to your peace of mind even if it might get you in trouble? would you risk your life and your career? , whats right might not be legal and it turn you to be a criminal by law

Just watch, you will never regret it
I don't want to write too much. Just this series should be watched and seen. It's great in every way.The acting, plot, ost and most importantly the chemistry of the couple was great.
When I saw the teaser, it caught my attention and it was worth watching. There aren't many series with different subjects in Thai dramas, but 'Spare Me Your Mercy' is one of the best in this category. If you've watched 'Manner of Death', you'll like this one too.
I hope there will be a second season or we can see this couple again in another production.
