Both the show have similar vibes.
There is FL cross-dressing as man to enter into Sungkyunkwan university in Sungkyunkwan scandal while in Check in Hanyang also FL cross-dress and enter Yeongcheonru.
There is three MLs around FL and bromance/friendships between all four of them is fun to watch.
There is also slight palace politics going on as central theme of the drama.

Both kdramas deal with secret identities, however in the tale of nokdu both the ML and FL cross dress while in check in hanyang, only the FL cross dresses but the ML hides his identity as a prince. There are also mysteries, traitors, and secret coups brewing in each drama. Definitely give both shows a shot!

Check-in Hanyang and In a Class of Her Own are similar with their gender disguise plots and historical vibes. Both feature brave girls pretending to be guys to chase their goals, with friendships and slow-burn romance forming in elite settings. They mix drama, humor, and a touch of history, making them super engaging to watch.

Hwarang and Check-in Hanyang share themes of hidden identities, friendship-building, and historical settings. Check-in Hanyang includes a gender bender element, whereas Hwarang does not.

Both FLs disguise as a boy to enter a place that only admits men. Both MLs have a hidden identity as well.
