want to see the actors in something else (watch suggestions for the cut version)

Overall: I was not a fan of the dynamic between either of the 2 main couples (lack of communication/acting like a child and idiotic/abusive approaches). This series was based on books which I haven't read and I reviewed the series on its own merits. Uncut (~52 min to 1hr17min) on WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/1ci6pha8sn1tf5h-Fourever%20You/t4100l7xft2-EP1%3A%20Fourever%20You%20(Uncut%20Ver.) ; uncut for Wabi Sabi's YouTube Membership ; cut (~47 min) on WeTV https://wetv.vip/en/play/ao1v1tecg9lpwhb-Fourever%20You%20(Uncut%20Ver.)/s4100zd55dq-EP01A%3A%20Fourever%20You and YouTube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLb6_2JamS9iP_2lK0mjCScRwFJx8c8ru6

Content Warning: non con touching, homophobia, punch, fight, manipulation/coercion, non con picture taking/sharing, attempted sex assault, physical assault, victim blaming, non/dub con kiss, intimate partner abuse (financial)

- watch episode 6: part 1 beginning to 4
- watch episode 7: part 2 4:25-5:10, part 3 4:10-9:20, part 4 6-end
- watch episode 8: part 1 (or can skip), part 2 6:20-end, part 3 beginning to 3:30, part 4 2:30-end

- watch episode 10: part 3 1:30-8:30
- watch episode 11: part 3 5:30-6:10
- watch episode 12: part 1 11-end, part 2 5:45-end, part 3 5:55-8, part 4 10:30-end
- watch episode 13: part 1 11:30-end, watch part 2 and part 3, can watch part 4 for a long flashback scene for how two characters met
- watch episode 14: part 1 up to 11 min, part 2 6:05-end, part 3 4:30-5:45 or the whole thing, all of part 4
- watch episode 15: part 2 2-end for the side couple, part 3 beginning to 7:30, part 4 4-5:15
- episode 16 is the backstory of Johan and North which didn't interest me (and his present day approach still made zero sense),
- watch episode 17: part 1 5:15-10:50 and 17-end, part 2 10-11:15 or all the way to the end if you enjoy family intros, watch all of parts 3 and 4

What I Liked
- excellent way to start a series
- the F4 entrance was fun (though not the exposition dump to introduce the characters)
- nice to see several actors again
- supportive dad and grandma
- supportive friends
- good that after a confrontation, a person apologized and removed pictures that were taken without consent
- sweet moments
- episode 17 tied things up well

Room For Improvement
- felt very old school Thai BL, there was zero reason for poor communication dragging on for a long time/not clearing things up right away in the past or the present
- slow pacing, 17 episodes with a delayed final episode (nearly 5 months for the cut version to air), overall a thin plot felt stretched
- an abusive jerk (controlling, manipulative) was supposed to be someone the viewer rooted for because he was less evil than another abusive jerk introduced in episode 10, the "plan"/approach made zero sense and was unpleasant to watch, his victim blaming "I told you not to work there" and financial coercion (I'll give you money for each kiss/hug) was gross, he also said "don't go out of my sight ever again", still used coercion for getting kisses in episode 15, said "kiss me and I'll answer why I like you" and moved the supposed love of his life without asking him first
- the haircuts/styles and acting like a child as a university student (an actual dialog was a character saying that they needed to hold hands or the other character (a university student) might get lost, later on a different character covered his boyfriend's eyes to prevent him from seeing someone kiss because I guess he was not mature enough to see that???)
- nonsense stuff like a character saying he would answer anything and then the other character not asking the most important question, in episode 14 where a character was so drunk that he lost consciousness but then was an active participant in sex
- 5 episodes was much too long for the first couple's story and then it continued to drag thru to the very end
- the comedy sound effects didn't make things funny
- not a fan of what a character did while the other was sleeping in episode 1
- awkward body gap and hands at sides when kissing
- cliche ex girlfriend plot in episode 10

Note: I skimmed thru the cut version to find the missing 5 minutes in ep 1 and other than the beginning being shorter, I didn't notice any changes. Episode 2 uncut was 1 minute longer. Episode 17 was 11 minutes longer. Up to episode 9 there was no NSFW. I watched ep 17 uncut and it didn't get steamy, a little kissing and then cut away to the next morning and the cut version appeared to be the same. Hence, I'm not sure there is that much extra NSFW in the uncut version and I value my sanity too much to watch all 17 uncut episodes and compare them)

Maybe I'll come back to the review after this ends idk I'm not rlly a fan

I think the series started off strong, the first episodes were well done but as it went on and the storylines kept getting dragged on for no reason (HillTer I'm looking at you) it slowly started descending until crashing. Yea the last 4 episodes could be good but even then I wouldn't bring myself to rate this above a 7-7.5 and that's mainly for a few reasons

Easter pisses me off and makes me wanna turn this off, Hill is fine I like when he's on screen (whenever his romance with Ter isn't getting strectched) but with Ter I can hardly find any redeeming qualities, I heard he's the same the novel but I still don't like him. Particularly with his weird shipping tendencies, like girl your best friend is stressed out of his mind by the amount he owes to Johan, how's he gonna pay it off and also North has to deal with his own and Jo's feelings, what a good friend would do is support him not SHIP him the debtor!? In what world is that a reasonable reaction. Love you Earth but Easter annoys me to no end

But even if the whole debt didn't exist it would still be borderline creepy shipping him with Jo when North hasn't given any indications or signs that he likes Johan. Yea, we're shown that North indeed has some sort of feelings towards Johan but like, Ter doesn't know that yet he continues to ship them to the point where its genuinely uncomfortable to watch, I just feel like fast forwarding anytime Ter opens his mouth bcs I actually don't care about what he has to say. Just take the antidelulu pills and take about ANYTHING ELSE. I like Hill tho he doesn't annoy me

What does annoy me is how Hill and Ter's story was dragged on for more than needed, wdym it took them 12 whole episodes to become bfs when they knew they liked eachother from the beginning, this is no longer slowburn this is just torture to watch as they make ZERO progress 😭They could've very easily wrapped it up by ep 5 and gotten out of the way to leave space for the other couples instead of making part 1 and 2. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THEM TO HOG SO MUCH SCREENTIME

Now for JohanNorth, I really liked Jo at first, but recently he's been weirding me out with his borderline creepy behavior, not bcs of the debt (that's justified as North kinda trashed his house) but the way he's pursuing North is just not rlly nice to watch. Buying all the places North works at? excuse um wtf that's not cute that's kinda stalker-ish behavior. Idk I feel like Johan's approaches could've been written better like just give advice to North as to why he shouldn't work there instead of BUYING THE DAMN PLACE, he was also doing an awful job at showing his feelings but that's not rlly a problem. I still have some faith he won't be an overly possessive bf bcs I really want to enjoy their story

Anways that's the end of my rant, idk if any of this made sense but thanks for coming to my ted talk

Came here for Pond, stayed for Bass and now JohanNorth have me in a choke hold.

Was this the most mind-blowing thing to be put to page? Fuck no. But I can tell you right now this sure had more going on then We Are the series and that focused on four couples and while this focused on two (while the next two will be out in part 2).

It was honestly to my own detriment that Pond's first work that I watched was 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us. This man is a phenomenal actor, and I knew I would watch him in any BL from that moment forward. So when I found out he was gonna be in this, I immediately jumped on board.

HOWEVER. And I mean this however in the nicest way possible -- the execution of HillTer's story totally killed it. There was something there, there honestly was. We had such great potential for angst, yearning, tension (emotional and sexual), and yet, it all fell flat. It wasn't the actors fault, but the way their story was written. It was so damn confusing, from start to end. Ter and Hill were a thing before, they knew each other before, HAD A WHOLE PAST!! And despite all that, none of that translated well to their university life where their story began again. If they just kept it at, "yes, they had a crushes on each other, but nothing happened," then everything would have been fine. But they kissed. They were almost about to have sex. THEY WERE CAUGHT HALF NAKED MAKING OUT!! Now please, I implore you to watch their story WITHOUT watching any of their flashback scenes. Trust me, not a single one of you would be able to convince me you actually think they did any of that. And I thought I just being dumb, so I legit went back and rewatched, but nope, don't make sense. So I went and watched the uncut version to see if I missed something. AND GOD, YES. There are so many bits missing that added to their past, but it still didn't make sense.

Like the whole "does Hill like Christ thing." Ummm?? You two made out? Hill called you his?? And that's Ter's entire inner conflict?? And not only that, but also that Hill might like that Mind girl?? So after Easter finds out Hill doesn't Mind, he processed to think Hill might like his sister? Bro. Come on.

And then the tearjerkering moment of them splitting apart. When did that happen?? I honestly tried to piece that part into the timeline but it made no sense. Because it couldn't have been before, since Hill's gramps didn't know about them, but it couldn't have been after either cuz Ter's dad didn't let them see each other. Did Hill sneak in? If so, how, when, where????

And it's these two pieces that don't fit into the puzzle that make this whole back story fall short. Don't get me started into the whole repetitiveness of the "will Ter finally agree to be Hill's boyfriend" thing. They act like a married couple, know they like each other, but being boyfriends is where we need to take a step back and think things through? It was so stupid. They actually has such great potential, but they fumbled the bag so hard it's not even funny.

But JohanNorth on the other hand... These two made the show. They WERE the show.

I remember when 2moons was coming out back when I was in high school. I remember waiting every week impatiently just so I could watch an episode. And I fell in love with Bas. He was my absolute favourite. And when I found out he wasn't going to be in the second season of 2moons I was devastated. Then I didn't hear about him or see him in any other BL shows and by then I sorta fell out of my BL phase for a while. So when I was coming back to watching BL there were many actors I wanted to back on my screen, and he was still one of them. So imagine my surprise when I see the trailer of this on my feed and I see Bas on my screen after so many years? I screamed. I think I did and I'm no ashamed to admit it. There are only two BL series that made me read the source material (novel), and that was 2moons and this one, JohanNorth's story. Bas has that much power.

Now that I've sung my admirations for this man, let's get on with this. Bas ABSOLUTELY killed it as North.

If there is one word to describe Johan and North, it's patience. Because that is what these two are. Patient.

There love story wasn't dramatic, it wasn't showstopping or phenomenal, but it didn't have to be. It was emotional, sweet, funny. It was patient. It was real. These two showed us that love can wait for someone. Johan waited years for North, and North waited for the right person. And Maxky and Bas showed us how chemistry and acting can bring these characters to life and make everyone fall for them more than the actual couple. They embodied the characters, they were the Johan and North. I honestly couldn't even tell you what it is about their love story that made me rewatched all their eps like five times already, but it was just the way they were *it* for each other. North was the chaos to Johan's calm. The dorkiness to Johan's stress. Johan doesn't talk much around North, and North understands, loves him regardless. He's always working and studying, always tired and exhausted, and North doesn't mind, he'll just stay by his side to support him. When North said he was a sabai-sabai guy, you could see it. He didn't stress, went about life his own way, if he loved someone then he loved with all his heart, didn't care about rumours or other people's opinion. He was kind, hilarious, strong-minded. He's just honest, wore his heart on his sleeve. And to see Johan's three-year unrequited love be fulfilled by someone like that just made me so happy.

And don't even get me started with the way North's eyes would instantly soften when he looked at Johan. Once boy realised he was in love, he was all in. Those were the eyes of love. The fact that North is a carefree guy but genuinely couldn't function without Johan around him? Yeah, you could tell this boy was just as in love with Johan as Johan is with him. These two were so intense for each other in the best way possible, and I loved it every single second of it.

And the way Johan just grabs North's neck when kissing. I have an obsession. I think I rewatched the cafĂŠ kiss scene an unhealthy amount of time. Johan is so hot man, words can't even capture it. They may have toned down his red-flagness from the novel, and he might not be fully green, but if North doesn't care, then why should I? These two were made for each other, and when North cried after hearing about Johan's three-years of pining, I cried as well. I did not expect them to become my comfort couple, but they did. And their reasons for loving each other were simple that I loved it even more. Johan because North didn't see rich people as stuck up assholes when everyone saw Johan like that, and North because Johan took care of him when North is always taking care of everyone else. They're just adorable man and I really hope we get to see more of them in Part 2 because this will probably be the last time we see Maxky and Bas together.

I'm all for actors changing partners, because some of my favourite BLs are the ones with pairing I never expected to see together on my screen, but THESE TWO NEED MORE SHOWS TOGETHER. PLEASE!! I BEG! MY LIFE IS THEIRS IF THEY MAKE THIS HAPPEN!! *sighs* I guess I will stick to writing fics about them instead to fill in the emptiness in my heart now that this has ended...

This would have defo been rated higher if it was just JohanNorth. It's still funny to me that the producers didn't think they'd be so popular and had to calm the fans by releasing this ep. Makes me wonder what they were gonna do with the extra content. Just bin it?

Special mentions:

1. TigerNao were fucking hilarious. They were just that crackhead couple for me. I really wish we see their relationship develop more in the next part.

2. The friendship groups. My god I loved the friendship groups to death. My favourite parts about ensemble group series are the friendships. The way Johan and Hill became unrequited love besties and Arthit and Fah just watching them. The doctor gang were so fucking funny. And Arthit 100% stole the show. I need more of him and can't wait for his story and chaoticness. I just love how supportive they are off each other. And the way Ter was the captain of the JohanNorth ship was amazing. He was the fandom. And Hill always there with a proud but "guys, pls stop" look killed me every time. And Johan Arthit friendship. We needed more of this. These two were so fucking hilarious man. The way they were always insulting each other but so ready to gang up on Hill was the highlight of any episode. And the Ter, Phoon, North and Dao combo. Powerful. We NEED to have a scene with all four couples on the last ep of Part 2. I'm rioting if that doesn't happen.

3. FahPhoon. These two need to stop being so depressed around each other and get their shit together. Can't wait for their story.

4. Editing. I know this is New so this isn't anything new, but damn man, the editing/pacing of this could really use some work. I already talked about the writing and editing issues with HillTer, but some of the sound effects need work. And that one JohanNorth kiss when North was sick, I can't be the only one that thought that editing there was weird af.

5. The family meetings. I loved them, but you could tell we were just moving from one scene to another. It was just this family, then cut to this family. Oh, now this one, then this one. Bro, Ter and Hill's whole family need one ep itself cuz there was so much to unpack there, not 15 minutes. And Johan's whole fam... we only knew about his grandma, and know his mum enrolled him into the medical course without asking him so he needed to do it while his dad only wanted him to take over the business. Maybe it was just me letting my imagination run free, but lovey-dovey fam was not what I was expecting. And yes, I read the novel, but we didn't meet the dad there so ig my opinion still stands. Idk, that was just weird, but I probs did that to myself. I loved North's mum tho. She da best! The way she kept outing North to Johan was my absolute favourite, and kept telling him to scold North was amazing lmao.

Anywhoooo, I can't believe we have come to an end of this journey already. I'm going to miss this cast, and I'm going to be devastated now that I don't have JohanNorth on my screen every week. They became my comfort couple so quickly it's not even funny. Now all I have is ThamePo and YothaGun to keep me sane.

Once again, was this show-stopping? No. There are so many other better series out there with better pacing, plot, writing and editing. But this was cute, it was fun, and the chemistry between Maxky and Bas was to die for. Reviews are not gonna help you decide whether to watch this, you need to watch it yourself and decide. If you don't like HillTer, then skip through them to get a overall feel of the show and character dynamics until you reach JohanNorth. If you don't vibe with them either, then that's totally fine as well. This show isn't for every one, and that's okay!

Another with many couples in 1 BL dramas. At first I’m not really interested in this one, especially none of the main cast, except Earth I know of. But with a lot of YT clips, it eventually made me give in & click watch. Haha…

Story about 4 friends; Hill, Johan (Jo), Tonfah (Fah), Arthit (Thit) & their couples. 4 of them are the idols of the medicine department in their school, their good looks, rich & smart are the complete package for everyone. And each of them with their own characteristics make their groups stand out among their peers.

This drama however, only talks about 2 couples first. And this is the exact reason I lower the score...

Hill-Easter.
Easter intentionally attends a university in the north of Thailand. He hopes to find a new place to erase the memories of his ex-relationship, which ended unclearly. But in this place by surprise Easter still meets Hill, his ex-relationship. Meeting again in the university, Hill begins to chase Easter again. The purpose is to restart the relationship and erase all the misunderstandings about their previous relationship. So, how does Easter feel about all this? Because their previous encounter not only affected him, but also his family.

Jo-North
At the same time, Easter’s roommate, North, also faces chaos. One day, North was drunk and caused a quarrel, then woke up with the debt. North owed the debt to no other than the university senior, Johan. Being the richest among 4 of them, Jo never really cared about the debt North owed him. From the first we can see how Jo really likes to tease North about his debt. So the question is, why does Jo want to go through all the trouble of paying all the damage caused by drunken North…? What's their story…?

That's pretty much the story without giving any spoilers. Now what I like and don’t.

What I like:
+ I like all the chemistry between all the 2 couples. For me they quite fit the description in the books.
+ Nothing too much or over the top. In the book, some scenes are more mature than in the drama.
+ I like how they put their background story in the end, not between the storyline.
+ The ending... Quite a good intro into the 3rd story. About Tonfah (Fah) & Typhoon. Just prepare your tissue for their story. Read the book itself already cried myself out. Haha...

What I don't like:
- Some Hill-Easter stories/scenes feel rushed and don't make sense. Like when Hill asks to talk with Easter after Easter being teased with the group. The timing felt odd, like why Hill needed to do the talk at that time…

In the end I’m quite happy, even obsessed with this drama. The one that disappointed me the most, is the promise this is about 4 couples, but at the end it’s only the 1st half or 1st 2 couples of the total 4 couples that’s aired. And that disappointment led me to read their books & I’m quite obsessed too with the books & now I really can’t wait for the last 2 couples to be on my screen.

I wanted To Love This

Based on 4 Novels. 4 Couples. That is a complete fabrication. Now I love Hill and Ter and Johan and North but what about the other 2 couples touted in this BL.
Ngern is an OG having appeared in the original Love Sick and it's sequel over 10 years ago and this series hires someone of his caliber and for what? To sit in the background.
The other couples have had little to no interaction and there are 3 episodes left.
Even the unspoken love of Tiger and Nao shines brighter than Ngern and Bever's non existence storyline. This series has disappointed me for that reason.
The same was done in We Are with MarcPoon (aka Chain and Pun) which I got to a certain extent, Poon replaced Pawin and it could have been an unacceptable ship in the eyes of fans. Was that the reason idk but MarcPoon seem to be thriving as the are paired in Perfect 10 Liners and A Dog and a Plane.
All characters in Fourever You as far as the 4 Couples say main role but they are not main roles. They are relegated to support almost guest roles. There is nothing you can do in 3 episodes to give Ngern and Bever's coupling a shot. So disappointing.
Maybe its just me but why lie and say Ngern, Bever, Oat and Tonliew were main roles when clearly they are not.

Funny and Sweet

This was a nicely done series that truly was a pleasure to watch. All the characters were likeable and visually a perfect match. While this is classed as a romance, what stood out was the strong bonds of friendship between them all. They stood together and always willing to assist in times of need. A little ribbing along the way but the honesty was remarkable.

Ter and Hill's story was told over the entire series mainly as the connection to all the characters. It was a bit childlike and innocent but filled with too much saccharin. Sweetness overload. Pond's acting range is so far above this series that it was a struggle to see the benign look on his face every week. One would think he took a valium or smoked something, to be so bland. I hope he doesn't repeat this error. Earth is the perennial Peter Pan character and it has become tedious. Any rage or frustration was shown in flashbacks. In the present, Ter was treated like fine China with no real passion. Cotton balls and tender touches. This is not college age. I will say, Ter as a shipper and concerned friend was a nice watch.

North and Johan's relationship from beginning to end was the highlight we didn't know we needed but craved weekly. Maxky and Bas are natural comics with amazing chemistry and they aced every scene. North is the love everyone should have in their lives. Simple, dedicated, loyal and honest. He took his time to know his mind and once he knew, he held on to Johan as if his life had now begun. Johan, after waiting three years, finally had the opportunity to give back to the person who gave meaning and direction to his existance. He shed the coat of playboy and surrounded himself with the greatest joy he will ever know. North claiming his man publicly... pure gold. This is the stuff love stories are made of. Perfection. My only issue with Johan is the way North has to kiss him to get what he wants. It gives the impression of using this as payment for his love. Poor message. It fits his high handed character's traits but not nice to see.

The promised second season should see the completion of the other stories. With 17 episodes of this, I believe all could have been told had it been lengthened to 20 with 5 chapters per couple. Phoon, Fah, Arthit and Dao would have to wait. The hope Tiger got from Nao leaning his head on his shoulder was a nice touch to the ending.

The script between Hill and Ter could have done with a couple revisions as it was not enticing and a bit repetitive. Jo and North hit the mark very well with funny tit bits and romantic interludes. The comradery amongst all was a great addition to the script. Conflicts were handled swiftly and not lengthened to prolong an already lengthy series.

Rewatch, definitely yes. Mainly for Jo and North but all the friendhips of Arthrit and Fah.

Cute and fluffy

If you’re seeking a heartwarming and entertaining drama, look no further. This series offers a captivating blend of cute moments, dramatic relationships, and life’s ups and downs. While it may occasionally feel predictable, the easy-to-follow storyline keeps you engaged.

Without giving away any spoilers, I can confidently say that this drama is worth watching. Personally, I found the second couple’s story more relatable, but the first one is certainly not lacking in charm. The cinematography is truly impressive, and the acting is commendable. The actors deliver outstanding performances.

Like any other drama, it has its fair share of flaws. One could argue that the storylines of all the couples could have been condensed into fewer episodes. However, considering that a second season is in the works, I suppose this is a minor inconvenience.

If you’re looking for a light-hearted and non-overly dramatic drama, this series is definitely worth checking out.

Laughs, Love, and Longing for Part 2

Fourever You was one of my anticipated Thai BLs when it was first announced last year, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. This series delivered not only entertaining storytelling but also countless laughs and heartwarming moments. Its simple, cohesive narrative was a breath of fresh air amid the trend of over-the-top, fantastical concepts dominating recent Thai BL releases.

PAIRINGS:

HillTer (Pond and Earth) stood out as a genius pairing. Ter’s easygoing demeanor, shaped by his troubled family background, contrasts beautifully with Hill’s more reserved but equally complex persona. Their chemistry felt natural, and their shared moments were both touching and impactful. However, I wished for more playful script banter between them.

JoNorth (Maxky and Bas) was the real showstopper. Their combination of cute, cringe, and sweet moments carried the series as a whole. Maxky’s portrayal of Johan, the archetypal rich snob with a hidden soft side, was exceptional. His nuanced performance brought depth to a tropey character.

Together, JoNorth balanced the story with light-hearted humor and emotional depth.

ACTORS:

Pond solidified his reputation after his supporting stint in Century of Love. His portrayal was authentic and engaging while Earth’s comedic timing and expressive delivery added a much-needed lively energy, especially when paired with Bas.

Maxky deserves special mention for his standout performance as Johan. He captured the essence of a "snob heartthrob" with believability and finesse, suggesting he could excel in more serious roles with the right project. Meanwhile, Bas complemented Maxky’s intensity with his playful quirks, though their scenes sometimes felt uneven in emotional weight.

Bas, on the other hand, brought quirky charm to his role, showcasing noticeable improvement since his earlier works like 2 Moons. While some of his line deliveries felt flat at times, his effort to embody his character is commendable.

PLOT:

The story leaned on familiar BL tropes but executed them with enough charm to remain entertaining. While the narrative didn’t demand much mental engagement, it delivered consistent laughs and feel-good moments.

The teased part 2 promises to expand on the FahPhoon and ThitDao couple, who were intriguing but underexplored in this series. Their potentially steamier storyline could bring fresh dynamics to the sequel.

One slight letdown was the lack of early setup for the new couple, particularly DaoThit, who wasn’t introduced at all. This missed opportunity left their storyline feeling disconnected, though FahPhoon’s glimpses were enough to spark curiosity.

OVERALL:

Fourever You doesn’t reinvent the wheel but excels as a fun, lighthearted watch. The actors, particularly Maxky and Bas, shone in their roles, and the chemistry between all pairings was palpable. With its teased continuation, the series has laid a solid foundation for a potential fan-favorite sequel.

For now, Wabi Sabi, we’re counting on you to bring us Part 2 soon!

This sums up my experience with Fourever You: I don’t think I’ve ever skipped and fast-forwarded through a series as much as I have with this one.

I was really excited for it too—mainly because it had Pond in a lead role, and I’ve been a fan since 180 Degrees. Imagine my disappointment when this turned out to be as interesting as watching paint dry. Worse, actually, if I factor in the fact that certain plotlines—dare I even call them that—actively put me off.

The series follows the progression of three relationships. Was there supposed to be a fourth—hence the title? Was there actually one, and I just skipped too much? No idea. But that’s neither here nor there.

It’s as cookie-cutter as it gets, following the Thai BL formula to a T:
✔ High school flashbacks and shared pasts.
✔ University setting (and of course, it’s Engineering/Med School).
✔ Misunderstandings dialed up to the max.
✔ Domineering, controlling, and/or toxic behavior.
✔ The homophobic relative for good measure.

Nothing was missed or left on the cutting room floor.

But in all honesty, this show doesn’t actually have a plot. There’s no narrative structure, no climax—things get “resolved” each episode, only for the characters to act like they didn’t, and so begins the rinse and repeat. No character growth. Nothing much happens. Ever.

So let's get into the characters, shall we?

Easter (or Ter), played by Earth—listen, I’ve seen My Only 12%, I know the guy can act. At the very least, I know he can act better. I hesitate to say he’s being typecast, since I haven’t seen all his work, but between My Only 12% and this, it definitely feels that way. Childish, immature, whiny, and overly emotional characters seem to be his niche—and Easter is all of that, cranked up to the max. Because I know Earth can do better, I’m inclined to blame the writing and directing for this performance. But still, it was just unpleasant to watch. From the constant mental breakdowns at the beginning of the show to the unhinged smiles and exaggerated facial expressions, there wasn’t a single thing I found likable about the character—except for his friendship with North. And even that came with a huge caveat.

Hill, played by the lovely Pond, is essentially a cardboard cutout of a "green flag boyfriend"—minus the actual personality. His only defining trait is loving Ter. Pond seems like a soft-spoken, nice person in real life too, which would be hard not to translate to the screen, but in the show, it felt like his only direction was: act as close as possible to the personification of a sweet whisper. With barely any material to work with, he spent the entire show gently gazing at Ter, following Ter, gently gazing at his phone, and… not much else. And yet, even with the softness he naturally gives off, I know he can do passion. I know he can do intensity. I know for a fact he can do emotion. But this performance? It was more phoned-in than Adam Sandler’s latest excuse to hang out with his friends (see: his movie).

Easter & Hill’s relationship? A whole lot of back-and-forth over the same goddamn subject. A lot ado about nothing. Plenty of talking, yet barely any real communication. It felt like Ter asked a question in episode two or three, Hill answered it around episode eight, then another question was posed in episode ten and resolved by episode fifteen. Slow. Boring. Utterly nonsensical. It’s a show—it can set its own rules—but these are supposed to be people, right? Human beings? You’re asking me to believe these two are making out in every other episode, declaring their love, talking about past crushes, yet one of them is still unclear on the nature of their relationship? Unsure of their partner’s feelings? Acting like a married couple but not dating? Wut? It just made Ter’s character come across as really stupid. The unnecessary secrecy, the refusal to go straight to the source for answers, instead asking literally everyone else on campus—it was just frustrating. So… relationship #1? Total bust. Side note: I think Pond could have chemistry with a rock, but I didn’t see any here, to be honest.

North—Easter’s friend and roommate, played by Bas. All I can say is: I haven’t seen this actor in anything else, but he carried this show so hard his back probably still hurts a year later. He’s positively adorable, acts like an actual human being, has a chill, fun personality, is a great friend, and is the reason I’d recommend watching this show. I especially loved that he called out Johan’s messed-up behavior early on. Sadly, in true BL fashion, he talked a good talk, but the show did absolutely nothing with it. Shrug. It is what it is.

Johan, played by Maxky—Hill’s university friend and North’s stalker/creditor/client.
Funnily enough, I liked the actor, enjoyed the acting, but I hated the character. He’s basically the Christian Grey of Thailand. You know the type—rich, has armed goons at his beck and call, straight-up buys out his boyfriend’s workplaces just to fire him or be his boss, is controlling, manipulative, and even dabbles in a little victim-blaming for good measure.
Nothing new, nothing you haven’t seen before, and nothing that actually gets addressed, aside from a few moments of well-placed indignation from North that ultimately mean nothing because—lurve.

North & Johan’s relationship? If the show was boring before this, I just became annoyed when this one started.
This loving ship kicks off with some casual stalking in the past, carries on in the present with manipulation, financial pressure, controlling behavior, and a nice dose of toxicity, and right before (or maybe as) it becomes official, it turns into a Pretty Woman situation—where North is essentially being paid (or having his debt deducted) based on sexual favors and acts he does with and for Johan. Sh*t, romance, right? So hot.

NB: One might say I'm a prude or can't tell reality from fiction. I ain't and I can. I enjoy a healthy dose of toxicity in my media, I just don't enjoy it never being addressed, but instead romanticized. But this is subjective, of course.

With that one, relationship #2 is also a bust. I suppose there's the third couple, but they have so little screen time, there's truly nothing to talk about there aand...that about sums up the show. Ah, forgot to mention:

Ter & North - their friendship is great, for the most part. However, when North starts having the financial issues with Johan and Ter's immediate reaction is to tease and ship him with his creditor, it just felt so out of place. My boy North is freaking out about rent and Ter's going on and on about puppies and love and whatever other bullshit he's got in his head. Awkward.

If you think you'd enjoy watching what I just described, go wild. Otherwise, you'll be missing exactly nothing if you skip this one.

Trust the process

I just started watching because Earth was in it. I literally had no idea of any other actor. When it started off with HillTer story, it kept feeling incomplete. Like at first Ter wanted to avoid Hill. But then it looks like Hill didn't do anything wrong. I kinda thought that Hill did him something bad and came behind him to get a chance to prove himself that he won't do it again.... That's what I thought. There were so many questions of Why, Where, When, How. Even Ter had those questions but he didn't ask all of them.

It was kinda frustrating to me that why the series left out so many details. And I'll be honest, it looked very slow paced at first. And then they started JohanNorth story. I was like Who will clean the mess that's created!

But as my title says 'Trust the process'. I really liked the way the story was put. It didn't completely disclose the facts at one time. But rather it one by one told everything. After like 3-4 episodes, it catches the pace and then you'll find yourself wanting to watch more and more. Hill is so sweet, his smile is so mesmerizing. And I liked the friendship of Ter and North. North saying to Ter that I'm here to listen, you can share anything with me 🤌🏻🤌🏻

And don't get me started with JohanNorth. A cherry on top. If in one hand, HillTer is a calm story, on the other hand, JohanNorth is such a comedy, fussy, dynamic story. I liked P'Bas acting of North and no heavens can make me believe that the intimidating role of Johan is played by P'Max who is nothing related to being serious. He's such a crack head. It shows how good an actor he is.

JohanNorth story literally made me kick my blanket, and have my jaws dropped (the kiss scene in the cafe, literally gave too much butterflies)

And as i mentioned, they give details one by one. So like you don't know those details initially at the start, but later after knowing those details, it'll make you want to watch it again with different perspective and knowing everything. That's why i gave 10 for rewatch value. I think this factor will make me rewatch the drama (i don't rewatch a series). So in the end, this drama turned out to be so good, it felt like mind relaxing

Balance screentimes?

Better learn form 'Love in the Air' and 'Perfect 10 liners' in term of giving proper screentime towards each couple (exclude TonfahTyphoon and ArthitDaotok since they will be more focused on Fourever You Part 2). No matter what people say, both couple has their own storyline either complex or not, deserved their own screentimes. That's it .. No hates toward HillTer, but JohanNorth also main couple in this Part 1. If they couldn't give balance screentime for JohanNorth and HillTer, why not from the beginning just make JohanNorth as side couple. Screen writers should consider author's opinion regarding the 3rd version of the script so everyone could live in peace. And ... there's a lot of missing important plots about JohanNorth in the series especially how Johan started to change from being player to hardworking and committed to North. They only show how Johan fell in love. Because I'm reading the novels, so I'm feeling disappointed. Sorry to say.

(Sorry for my bad grammar, English is not my spoken language)

ps: Bass Hatsanat and Cooearth, I love this duo. Never disappoints. Long time no see Bass, all rounder actor. Coo too, long time no see. Give them both 8/10. Never watch any Pond and Maxky's works before, so I don't know what to comment but so far they're doing good and I don't feel cringe of their scenes. But, Maxky does leave good impression like he knows his character very well.
