The movie (roof)tops the series
So I loved the series but the movie is better as it doesn't break as much and have as much of the game element. Plus you are blessed with more of the context so how they were back in school and their feelings. I felt so much more like I was seeing the why for a lot of what they did instead of being confusedThe acting is top notch and I've rewatched the series MANY times but think, like Semantic Error I'll switch to the movie for rewatch. You feel the chemistry, shyness and emotion between the two actors and it really is all about them. No side couples to distract which is good as it's so short. The movie is nearly 2 hours though.
Highly recommended and one of the top 5 KBLs to come out in 2023.
Enjoy

Office Romance Done Right!!
The movie/series: This was a really charming series with an awesome script. I will admit there are some weak aspects, but they were only minor. The cast was great and did a wonderful job with their characters. My only complaint about the series is how some episodes start off completely different from the previous episode which was slightly bizarre. However, it made more sense in the movie format. The movie: They did an excellent job editing the series into a movie version. The only downside is it eliminated one of my favorite things about the series which was the gaming scenes at the end of each episode. However, I understand why they had to edit them out.
Random Notes:
So far, this is the only BL office romance in 2023 that was enjoyable to watch.
(Added on 9/29/2023): After thoughtfully considering which one to watch, I strongly recommend watching the series version. This is because I really love the gaming scenes at the end of each episode and missed them in the movie version. Although the editing between the episodes were bizarre, It’s not that bad.
Once again, the synopsis on Viki does not accurately describe the movie. It gives information that does not happen.

Shorter version of the drama
This movie cut is the same story as the drama, but without the high school flashback ending segments. Those scenes are actually pretty crucial to portraying the full view and contexts of Wan and Ki Tae's relationship ups and downs. Finding a good way to include them would have extended the runtime past two hours, but it would have been worth it. Definitely watch the drama in full first before the movie cut.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Do not make hasty conclusions.
The story of two friends, when one confessed to the other in high school, the other was so shocked that he didn't even have time to react. Subsequently, the contact between the friends was interrupted and they met again years later. By chance? We gradually learn how this coincidence happened in the series, and it was what gave this the plot a kind of feeling of beauty or joyful nervousness. A well-crafted story and nicely acted.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
unfortunately not max score
The story and pace is right, but extra scenes in school in original weekly episodes are cut off. So unrequited love from Lee Wan is actually not that convincing... The actors are good esp Gi Tae who can use his eyes expression very effectively. His personality is remarkable. This production is doing right even you can see about its low budget, but it is still good.I try to think how they will add that extra scenes in movie and it is so difficult!! because mood and scene transitions will be not that smooth. I think they originally filmed for weekly air because time event skip is still obvious but acceptable in movie. You actually see this skip/discontinuity in weekly episodes but it is skipped after 1 episode, so I think it is good enough.
It is hard to choose, but I gonna recommend weekly episodes due to extra scenes, which fill Lee wan's feeling/experience and it fits the theme dating simulator game more. (You cannot feel that much in movie)
P.S. I like this serie colors, you can see Gi Tae usually has a lot of green color, I like his room design and especially his headphone. (if someone know headphone brand, pls anewer me >> thanks in advance !!)

so wholesome
i really love the wholesomeness, that i got from this. like maybe it’s just me but most of it felt so genuine, like not scripted.they way it seemed so down to earth was what got me. and not like Thai drama(no shade, I still love Thai dramas) I love how it didn’t need like love scenes or anything like that because of house wholeness and genuine it was. it also felt really relatable as well, like i have no complaints about it as well. I haven’t been into Korean dramas since i usually watch Thai drama, but this really gave me better thoughts to get into Korean drama. I just hope i can find more like this. i just hope their would be a second movie or even a series! I hope people can agree with me:)Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

Fluffy Goodness
As a queer teenager I could only hope to meet my future crush in the future and find out they were also pining after me. This was so cute and I feel like some people would find the whole trope cliche but I felt myself really relating to both characters. This was so cute and fluffy I didn't expect myself to almost start sobbing watching one of the scenes but...I did. I found this love story so cute and soft and could truly feel the love that both characters have for each other. I could definitely see this having a second season/movie but I'm not sure if it would have the same effect. The flashbacks were very cute and the backstory was so relatable.Vond je deze recentie nuttig?
Cute and rather credible (for a BL!)
I generally prefer movies over series, and as usual I liked this movie better than the series. The breaks in series feel too contrived.BLs usually have misunderstandings that are often the source of dramatic tension, and humor. But frequently the misunderstandings are beyond unrealistic. While there is some of that in "Our Dating Sim", there is also credible dialog between the characters as they rediscover each other. The viewer can feel the characters struggling to try to communicate., to overcome the distance between them. That feels somehow more realistic and I found it easy to relate to the situations. Some of the playful physicality between the characters felt just like what my partner and I experience. It was nice to see ourselves in the story. I usually don't re-watch anything, preferring to find new movies, but since I had seen the series, this was sort of re-watch and I did pick up some nuance I missed on the first viewing, and I'm considering a third watch.
Flash backs are used as part of the story telling, but the transitions are rocky and sometimes unclear. Same can be said for the scene breaks. Just a little too choppy. I'd say this is an 8, but I loved the story enough and it was so relatable, I had to give it a 9.
