both shows are about students at a school for performing arts who dream to become stars. They both have a lot of good music and performances.

To work towards your dreams and become a star. Both feature music university setting. What's Up is a bit more serious.

the story-line is just like dream high but dream high is light where as what's up holds some heavy moments.
anyway I recommend this one to anyone who loves musical dramas!!!!

Even though they have the same names and places, the plot is similar but completely different. If you like dramas with musicals and performers, you might like this. Never compare them tho, that'll make DreamHigh2 look bad.

Both dramas are based on music "entertainers" who go to school.

Very similar to heartstrings.. Revolves around a set of students where the central theme is achieving their dreams and music.. And most similarity is the music itself.. Both have wonderful music.. Very calm and warm.. Worth a try..

Both focus on more than one person's journey, have a feel of deep bonding between friends, and have amazing music.

Although both seasons are seemingly independent, they both follow the lives of idol students at Kirin High.

This drama is also about high school and music. Dreams, love, bullying, problems and getting over.

Both dramas have this 'special class'. In Dream High it's a class who's planning to debut someday while in Dragon Zakura it's a class who wants to go to Tokyo University / Toudai.
