Here are some of the dramas for August
Mrs. Cop
Kim Hee Ae (Secret Love Affair. A Wife's Credentials) will star in SBS drama Mrs. Cop starting on August 3 on Mondays and Tuesdays after High Society ends. The director is Yu In Sik who also directed You're All Surrounded and History of the Salaryman to name just a few. The writer is Hwang Joo Ha who also wrote Lie to Me. Kim Min Jong (A Gentleman's Dignity, Athena: Goddess of War), Lee Da Hee (Big Man, Secret), Son Ho Jun (Trot Lovers, Beyond the Clouds), Heo Jung Do and Lee Ki Kwang (Me Too Flower, My Princess) will also be in the drama.
Choi Young Jin (Kim Hee Ae) is a female detective squad chief who aslo raises her daughter He Eun alson. Her senior detective is Park Jong Ho (Kim Min Jong) and the squad members are Min Do Young (Lee Da Hee), Han Jin Woo (Son Ho Jun), Jo Jae Deok (Heo Jung Do) and Lee Se Won (Lee Ki Kwang). They are a squad that deals with brutal crimes.

I'm not really into detective dramas, but I really like the cast. I'm not certain I will watch this.
Yong Pal
Joo Won (Tomorrow's Cantabile, Good Doctor), and Kim Tae Hee (Jang Ok Jung, My Princess) star in SBS drama Yong Pal starting August 5 after Mask ends. The director is Oh Jin Seok who also directed Modern Farmer and Goddess of Marriage. The writer is Jang Hyeok Rin who also wrote Reset.
Kim Tae Hyun (Joo Won) is constantly harassed by debt collectors due to his younger sister requiring expensive kidney dialysis. He is a brilliant surgeon at a hospital. However, to make more money he sees patients privately for a high fee regardless of their vocation. Kim Tae-Hyun then meets Han Yeo Jin (Kim Tae Hee) who is in deep sleep in the hospital.

I don't like medical dramas, but this looks like fun and I like the cast. I know some people don't like Joo Won, but I'm a fan. I will probably watch this.
Rude Miss Young Ae (Season 14)
Kim Hyeon Suk stars in her 14th season as Lee Young Ae which will start airing on August 10 after Hidden Identity on tvN on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This drama revolves around Young Ae and the prejudice portrayed of chubby women and the stress they get from their superiors, colleagues and work.
I have never watched this series and I don't intend to start now, but I thought you guys might be interested to know that another season will start soon.
Eugene (Can We Love?, A Hundred Years Inheritance), Oh Min Suk (Kill Me Heal Me, Incomplete Life) and Choi Tae Joon (The Girl Who Sees Scents, Mother's Garden) will be siblings in KBS2 drama All About My Mom starting August 15 taking the time slot on Saturday and Sunday after Bluebird House is over. The director is Lee Gun Joon who also directed Gumiho: Tale of the Fox's Child. The writer is Yoon Kyung Ah who also wrote Medical Top Team and Brain. Lee Sang Woo (One Warm Word, Goddess of Marriage) and Kim Young Ae who has been in countless dramas will also star in the drama. This will be Eugene's first acting role since she had her daughter in April of this year. She and the director, Lee Gun Joon worked on the drama series Loving You which was Eugene's debut role.
Lee Jin Ae (Eugene) dreams of becoming independent from her family especially her mother Im San Ok (Kim Young Ae). She falls in love with Kang Hoon Jae (Lee Sang Woo) and marries him. While Jin Ae deals with her new mother-in-law she gains an understanding of her own mother.

I am uncertain if I will watch this or not although I have watched a lot of Eugene's dramas. I may wait to hear other people's thoughts before I decide.
Taming Mother-in-Law
Ryu Soo Young (Endless Love, Rascal Sons), Kim Dasom (Melody of Love, Shut Up Family), and Go Doo Shim (a veteran actress that has been in many dramas) will star in KBS2's new drama Taming Mother-in-Law that starts August 17 on Mondays and Tuesdays after I Remember You. The director is Lee Deok Gun who also directed Melody of Love. The writer is Moon Sun Hee who also wrote Flower Grandpa Investigation Unit.
In Young (Kim Dasom) is a former girl group idol member that has lost popularity. She agrees to appear on a reality tv show where she appears as the fake daughter-in-law to Yang Choon Ja (Go Doo Shim). Yang Choon Ja is in the head family of an ancestral clan for 25 years and is very traditional and determined to retain the traditions of those ancestors. Cha Myeong-Seok (Ryu Soo Young) is good looking and has a stable career as an assistant professor of math. Regardless, he can't get married because modern women do not want the burden of the strict traditional family. Can the two women work through their differences when fake becomes real.

I Have a Lover

Kim Hyun Joo (What Happens to My Family, Cruel Palace: War of Flowers) and Ji Jin Hee (Blood, One Warm Word) are to star in SBS drama I Have a Lover starting August 22 after The Time We Were Not In Love on Saturday and Sunday. This drama will be 50 episodes. The director is Choi Mun Seok who also directed Angel Eyes and What Happened in Bali. The writer is Bae Yoo Mi who also wrote Scandal: A Shocking and Wrongful Incident and Twinkle Twinkle.
Do Hae Gand and Dokgo Yong Gi (Kim Hyun Joo) are separated twins that meet after 30 years. Do Hae Gang loses her memory and falls in love with Choi Jin Eon (Ji Jin Hee) not realizing that he is the husband she hated.

I will probably watch this. I am a sucker for makjang dramas and this looks to be a good one.
My Lovely Enemy
Choi Yoon Young (My Dear Cat, Passionate Love), Song Jae Hee (What Happens to my Family?, You're Only Mine), Uhm Hyeon Kyeong (Best Wedding, Mother's Garden) and Kwak Shi Yang (Oh My Ghost, Presverance, Goo Hae Ra) are to star in KBS2 drama My Lovely Enemy starting August 31. I have no other information at this time on the plot of the drama.
