On May 30, the upcoming thriller The Childe released ten stills from the movie.
The Childe tells the story of a struggling boxer whose father is of Korean descent and whose mother belongs to the Philippines. The young man, whose mother is now sick, comes to South Korea to find his father, only to encounter dangerous and powerful forces chasing him.
The newly released stills revolve around Marco (Kang Tae Joo), the aspiring boxer who becomes everyone's target. The stills raise anticipation for the film's intense action and gripping storyline. Particularly intriguing is the first still, where Gwi Gong Ya (Kim Seon Ho) meets Marco on a flight from the Philippines to Korea, with a smile introducing himself as a friend.
Subsequently, he unleashes chaos around Marco. From pursuing him in a car while he runs desperately; to pointing a gun at him; and chasing Marco till the end as he, out of desperation to escape, climbs on a precarious high railing; Gwi Gong Ya blurs the line between a friend and foe, leaving the viewers intrigued about the connection between him and Marco.
The next still, interestingly, portrays Gwi Gong Ya (Kim Seon Ho) as a merciless man as he effortlessly knocks out a man in the middle of the road.
Moreover, the stills also give a glimpse of Go Ah Ra as Yun Ju, a woman Marco met in the Philippines and coincidentally reunites with in Korea. The stills also feature Kim Kang Woo as Han Yi Sa, a second-generation chaebol.
From Marco's desperate moments, as he navigates through dense forests, evading attacks, to Han Yi Sa preparing for an imminent showdown with his henchmen, each still captivates the viewers with suspense and burgeoning tension.
The Childe promises to be an exciting chase thriller, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats with its gripping storyline and powerful action sequences. The K-movie will hit the cinema screens on June 21.
