Park Sung Hoon's 3-peat Success with "The Day" Following "The Glory & "Not Others"?

The upcoming ENA drama The Day, directed by Park Yoo Young and written by Kim Jae Young, is set to premiere on September 13th. The series is a comedy-thriller that portrays the extraordinary partnership between an inexperienced kidnapper, Kim Myung Joon (played by Yoon Kye Sang), and an 11-year-old genius girl, Choi Ro Hee (played by Yu Na).

Park Sung Hoon brings life to the character of Park Sang Yoon, a detective who possesses a rational analytical mind. He is tasked with chasing down rookie kidnapper Kim Myung Joon, and becomes intertwined with murder cases related to the kidnapping. Anticipation builds as Park Sung Hoon portrays Park Sang Yoon, diving closer to the truth.

In the released photos, Park Sung Hoon's charismatic appearance piques viewers' interest. His character, Park Sang Yoon, who is dedicated to the investigation, appears intensely focused on the crime scene. As he unravels a mysterious murder case overnight and deals with a kidnapping incident that could jeopardize a child's life, his determined gaze on the investigation board conveys Park Sang Yoon's unwavering commitment and determination.

Park Sung Hoon, who recently impressed audiences with his consecutive successes in The Glory and Not Others, aims to achieve a three-peat with The Day. He shared, "I was drawn to this drama because of its fresh storyline, I found the script intriguing from the moment I read it. I decided to join the project in a very short time." He also explained why the role was chosen: "I was captivated by the unique chemistry between the inexperienced kidnapper and the genius girl. I joined with the expectation of creating a fresh and unconventional piece."

Furthermore, he teased his transformation, saying, "Despite the common belief that detectives often lack personal time due to numerous undercover operations and investigative work, I tried to portray Park Sang Yoon, who manages self-care thoroughly, through his costumes and hairstyle." Park Sung Hoon added, "Park Sang Yoon's charm lies in his meticulous and rational judgment and humane side beneath the surface. While I played Police Station Chief Eun Jae Won in my previous work, Not Others, this role is similar yet different. Park Sang Yoon will take a more aggressive role in solving cases, and there will be action scenes, making things a bit more dynamic."
