SBS hit k-drama "The Fiery Priest" is in talks for another season!
On December 7th, there were circulating reports that there will be "The Fiery Priest 2." It was also revealed that the main lead Kim Nam Gil already received the offer to return to the series and he is currently reviewing it.
Broadcast channel SBS responded to the reports and shared that there is no official decision yet and the second season is still under discussion.
"The Fiery Priest" aired in 2019. It narrated the story of a hot-tempered Catholic priest and a cowardly detective who had a joint investigation for a murder case.
The first season was led by Kim Nam Gil, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Ha Nee, Go Jun, Geum Sae Rok, Jeon Sung Woo, and more.
Many are already expecting for a new season of the popular SBS drama Viewers are also hoping that the main casts of season 1 will return to the new season.
"The Fiery Priest 2" will reportedly premiere in 2023.
"The Fiery Priest" is one of the most successful K-dramas of 2019. This series has won several awards from different award-giving bodies. Kim Nam Gil also received four Best Actor awards from Busan International Film Festival, Korean Broadcasters Association Awards, 14th Seoul International Drama Awards, and the 32nd Grimae Awards through this k-drama.
If the second season is confirmed and Kim Nam Gil will return, this will be his third upcoming k-drama next year. The actor is set to star in the upcoming series "Island Season 2" and "Song of the Bandits."
Before the year ends, Kim Nam Gil will lead the upcoming k-drama "Island" with Lee Da Hee, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, Sung Joon, Go Doo Shim, and Park Geun Hyung.
