SBS's new weekend drama The Escape of the Seven, which premiered on the 15th, is a revenge drama that revolves around the disappearance of a girl entangled with the lies and desires of many and the struggle for survival of seven evildoers and their bloody retribution. In the drama, Hwang Jung Eum plays Geum Ra Hee, the CEO of LH Media and the birth mother of Bang Da Mi (Jung Lael), as she schemes to secure a massive drama production investment from Chairman Bang (Lee Deok Hwa).
Geum Ra Hee, who prioritizes money and success above all, initiated the turmoil by bringing Bang Da Mi, Chairman Bang's long-lost daughter, and her child, into the picture to win his heart and secure the investment. However, her plans were thwarted by Cha Joo Ran (Shin Eun Kyung), who has her eye on Chairman Bang's wealth, and a series of unfortunate events orchestrated by Han Mo Ne (Lee Yoo Bi). Geum Ra Hee shifted all blame onto Bang Da Mi, pressuring her and pushing her into a life-threatening situation.
Despite being questioned about her responsibility for failing to take care of Bang Da Mi properly, she maintained a defiant attitude and used the opportunity to act in front of Chairman Bang. She provided false information and successfully separated Bang Da Mi from her adoptive parents to secure the investment. Geum Ra Hee emerged as a cunning and greedy villain.
However, when Han Mo Ne sparked the rumor of "Bang Da Mi's pregnancy," Geum Ra Hee's carefully laid plans went awry as the situation escalated beyond her control. Her emotions took over, and the conflict peaked, ultimately pushing Bang Da Mi to the brink. Additionally, Geum Ra Hee's decision to recruit Han Mo Ne as an artist in her company adds further complexity to their intertwined relationship, piquing curiosity about the upcoming developments in the story.
SBS's weekend drama The Escape of the Seven will continue airing on Saturdays at 10:00 PM KST, with the next episode scheduled for September 22nd.
