The upcoming movie "Smugglers" starring Kim Hye Soo, Yeom Jung Ah, Zo In Sung, and Park Jung Min will officially premiere this year.
On January 25, movie distributor NEW released the trailer for the upcoming movie "Smugglers." Through the trailer, it was officially confirmed that the film will be released in the summer of this year. No official date has been stated but it will be out by the summertime in Korea.
"Smugglers" will be the latest work of the director Ryu Seung Wan who also helmed the blockbuster films "Escape from Mogadishu," "The Battleship Island," "Veteran 1," "The Berlin File," and more.
The star-studded cast will be joined by Go Min Si, Kim Jong Soo, Kim Jae Hwa, and Park Kyung Hye.
"Smugglers" will depict the criminal activities of the "haenyeo" (female divers) who got involved in smuggling against the backdrop of a small peaceful village in the 1970s.
The upcoming movie will be produced by Outreach Co., Ltd that also produced director Ryu Seung Wan's works such as "Veteran," "The Battleship Island," and "Escape from Mogadishu," and the hit 2019 film "Exit."

In the released trailer, main leads Kim Hye Soo and Yeom Jung Ah opened the scene. Kim Hye Soo sighed as if things are not in her control and Yeom Jeong Ah who is in her haenyeo uniform. Zo In Sung was in the next scene being the head of the planning. Yeom Jung Ah has focused once again on doing her job as a smuggler haenyeo. Lastly, the problem arises and several scenes from fights to chasing were revealed.
"Smugglers" is one of the most anticipated films for the collaboration of big names in the industry and the box office director. The upcoming movie will premiere in theaters this summer.
