Watched/Completed in 2020
This is for me to keep track of what shows I watch in 2020 for challenges and stuff.
Other dramas:
Giri/Haji - 6.5/10
Haunting of Bly Manor - 7/10
Dash and Lily - 9/10
-
101. Kaettekita Ie Uru Onna
Japanese Special - 2017, 1 episode
-
102. Ie Uru Onna no Gyakushu
Japanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Despite the cooler poster, season 2 was not quite as good as season 1, but it will still satisfy fans of the series. Season 2 tried to be woke by featuring nontraditional couples and cover other social issues. However, it felt like the message failed to hit home for me sometimes and I started to lose my interest. The mystery behind Rusudou Kenji was really interesting though and the usual searching for the most suitable home part was satisfying.
-
103. Mae Ka Khanom Wan
Thai Drama - 2009, 15 episodes
-
104. Meow, the Secret Boy
Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
The plot was meh and the beginning was a bit slow and draggy, but I was able to get into it after a couple more episodes. There are two main reasons to watch this:
1. The cat (I wonder how much cat actors get paid...)
2. The Bromance
I know L is eye candy and all, but I preferred Hong Jo in cat form tbh. Also, I thought the whole dating your cat thing was weird and was not on board that ship! -
105. The World of the Married
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
-
106. Eccentric! Chef Moon
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
I tend to gravitate toward food dramas during Ramadan and this is one of them. Objectively, it is not that good and badly written so I cannot give it a 7+ rating. However, there were parts of this drama that I really enjoyed and kept me going.
+The food part of the drama is pretty healing and the food prep stuff was low key ASMR.
+/- The plot and other scenarios were so ridiculous at times, it was kind of entertaining
+ REVENGE
+ Seol Ah, the cute girl character -
107. Find Me in Your Memory
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
This drama had some flaws, but I really really loved it. I also loved the side couple as much as the main couple.
-
108. Yoo Na's Street
Korean Drama - 2014, 50 episodes

109. The Love Equations
Chinese Drama - 2020, 27 episodes
It's technically your average college cdrama, but I ended up liking it better than expected. Contrary to what the synopsis says, the FL is not a bubbly person (she's pretty blunt xD). She's cheerful and passionate about her interests (detective novels), which makes her adorable in a way. She definitely isn't that girly, obsessed with pink female lead and that's one of the things I loved about it. I absolutely lived for the ML being all flirty. OMG, once that ship sets sail it is the best. Oh, and the characters are generally very direct with each other about feelings (no dragging this out), which is a nice bonus.
-
110. Love at First Hate
Thai Drama - 2018, 13 episodes
I needed to watch a drama I previously dropped. The main actress is cute, but I'm not a fan of her acting. Also, this has one of the most unreasonable, ridiculous mothers in dramaland. This has some bad writing, but the fake dating/contract relationship part made it watchable for me....plus the ML's abs were a nice bonus. :P
-
111. Girl Next Room: Midnight Fantasy
Thai Drama - 2020, 4 episodes
-
112. Lub Luang Jai
Thai Drama - 2019, 11 episodes
Blegh. I needed to watch something with the Harem tag and this just happened to be on my PTW. Idk why I even added it except Great is the lead and I'm in love with him and his smile. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see much of his precious smile because of all the drama surrounding his character Tor (resulting in Tor being angry and upset for like 70% of the drama).
Joe was a predator that needed to be castrated. Masu did such a good job playing a scumbag that idk if I can watch any of his future roles anymore. ^^;; Hopefully, I can forget this role of his. And what was up with all these women who acted like they couldn't live without Joe?? UGH. -
113. Hospital Playlist
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I don't really know how to rate this because I primarily rate dramas based on plot and this technically doesn't have an overall plot. It's a Slice of Life drama that's neatly woven together by daily interactions and brief moments of these doctors' lives. +1 for the A-list cast and the music. I'm gonna miss these guys as well as the adorable twin interns with doe like eyes. xD
I can't say much about the clinical part of this drama or the medical procedures, but I will say that this is the most realistic medical drama I've come across when it comes to what it's like working at a hospital. Yeah, you will see some sad and messed up stuff, but you still have to find ways to laugh and smile. The way it captured the daily interactions and how the characters goofed around with each other, but in a safe, professional way was the best. I also loved the direction and how they paid attention to minor details like handwashing and showing surgeons using their foot to enter into the OR.
And of course, there's office politics wherever you work, but I like how the plot didn't really have any evil corrupt doctors in administration that were trying to sabotage things. For the most part, everyone got along with each other and it was a very wholesome drama. -
114. My Girlfriend
Chinese Drama - 2019, 28 episodes
I went in with low expectations and because I did, it wasn't that bad. This drama had some highly entertaining moments and some great characters. The main thing is that the last 10 episodes were super draggy. I don't it's enough to call this drama terrible though, it's just okay. I really liked watching the bloopers at the end. :P I was originally watching on youtube, but I switched over to Viki with timed comments and it made the experience a lot better (since audio was not cut out and the amusing commentary).
Also, I'm 95% certain they misrepresented narcolepsy, so I'm going to pretend she has some other made up sleeping disease that is similar to narcolepsy. There were some plot logic flaws (ex: a couple listening to ipod/walkman in the 70s), but pointing those out were kind of fun. -
115. Fall in Love With Fox
Chinese Movie - 2019
Did I just watch a crappy movie just so I could add a synopsis? Yes.
Looks like most of the budget was spent on the extravagant, dreamlike set. -
116. My Dear Cat
Korean Drama - 2014, 119 episodes
I had dropped this previously, but decided to give it a go again to possibly include it an article I'm writing. I mainly just skip watched to the end, but the drama didn't improve. Despite having "cat" in its title, it's not really about a cat...it's about a person using a pen name. Also, for a drama about a writer, you would think this would have better writing. :/
-
117. Yakuza Campus
Chinese Movie - 2016
I've been watching crappy movies on iQiyi all day and out of all of them so far, this one was semi decent
-
118. Yong Jiu Grocery Store
Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 10 episodes
Slow paced drama. Each character has a sad past story that slowly gets revealed one by one. The more that gets revealed, the better it gets. Absolutely loved the old hometown vibe. There's just something so soothing and comforting about it. It's a very heartwarming drama.
For a hometown drama, they did a pretty good job in terms of representation...I think they mainly missed out on having a gay character and plus sized character. They didn't have a black character, but still managed to cover racism (FL is biracial). They covered a lot for only 10 episodes. Also, what was up with all these neglected children in this drama!? That part was a bit depressing. -
119. Girlfriend
Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes
Unintended consequence of watching this drama: I'm now following Lawrence Wong on youtube. Welcome to my radar. :P
I reallly loved the beginning of this drama and had it rated at 7.5 originally. I had regretted starting this drama early because I was addicted. The plot is technically a 7 throughout (except the episodes in the 30s are a bit draggy). The second half sort of gets mediocre. In the beginning, I really loved some of the rotating camera work. Also, I was all for the slow motion cliche romantic scenes in this one for some reason. *nosebleed* However, a lot of this stuff went away in the second half. Also, there was this one trope they tried to pull toward the end that really pissed me off. Anyways, it's one of those cliche enjoyable dramas. -
120. Let's Go Crazy on LIVE
Taiwanese Drama - 2019, 20 episodes
Fun and entertaining drama, especially in the beginning. It's a workplace drama that covers the world of livestreaming, which is still a bit new and refreshing in dramaworld. I'm giving it a slightly biased rating because FL is SO CUTE I just wanted to put her in my pocket. She reminded me of a scared little stray kitten that the ML picked up and started grooming to be a performer. I gotta warn you though, she is a weak FL in the beginning with no self confidence, but her character growth is great. Seeing her character progress steadily with each challenge and assignment is very satisfying.
+OST, main theme had weird lyrics tho
+Bromance Fanservice (I was so tempted to share screencaps, but I'm gonna let you guys discover it for yourselves).
+LGBT Character? (unclear if Trans or Bi, I'm not gonna try to label them.) -
121. Masters in Forbidden City
Chinese TV Show - 2016, 3 episodes
This was part relaxing...it kind of reminded me of the Great British Bake Off where you watch people leisurely work on their tasks. It was also part ASMR where you watch someone take something super rusty, polish it off, and make it shiny again (ultra satisfying imo). I loved how the masters walked around the Forbidden City like it was their second home. :P One of the perks of the job I guess. I felt like a student listening to masters pass on ancient wisdom lol. This is a good bedtime watch I guess. I ended up watching it with partial subs. I would recommend watching the movie first because it's fully subbed.
+B roll footage of outdoor cats. B) -
122. Ashfall
Korean Movie - 2019
Not my type of movie. The plot was a little too ridiculous for me. Good cast though. :)
-
123. Kim Ji Young: Born 1982
Korean Movie - 2019
*STRESS* Very good movie, but this makes me never want to get married and start a family. I cried so much. ToT
-
124. After My Death
Korean Movie - 2017
Depressing af. The ending left me confused.
-
125. Svaha: The Sixth Finger
Korean Movie - 2019
Interesting...I think I would've appreciated this movie more had I not read the synopsis or tags going in and had not already seen Save Me. It was slightly boring for me, but I also have little patience for most Horrors. I really have no other way to describe other than "interesting". ^^;; The ending is pretty good.
-
126. The Best of You in My Mind
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
I love the main actress and I love Chinese youth sports dramas, but this one seemed kind of average to me. Yes it was enjoyable, but it also sort of followed a bit of a formula. I liked the second half way better than the first. There were also more sports scenes in the second half so maybe that's why. The FL was kind of really annoying in the beginning and even some parts in the second half. Her little brother is the most mature character out of all of them. xD The animals saved the show for me...It has both dogs and cats, but I would say this drama is more for dog lovers.
-
127. The Wonder Woman
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 18 episodes
I'm gonna miss Du Aisha. This drama would have been a great watch for Shark Week. Total missed opportunity on my part. Oh well.
I loved the FL. She was just so badass and gorgeous. She made me swoon sometimes lol. The ML was kind of annoying and cute at the same time. HOWEVER, there were some red flags about this ML that the drama seemed to gloss over a bit, but don't worry. He gets what he deserves. FL has a bit of a toxic family, which didn't affect my viewing experience, but I know some people can't stand that. The script has some really well written parts. I could've cared less about some of the filler office drama nonsense. -
128. Hunting
Chinese Drama - 2020, 44 episodes
I personally thought it was a really interesting drama, but I wouldn't recommend it to everybody. You need an understanding and appreciation of Finance to really enjoy it. It took me about 6 episodes to get into it. The show mainly follows the stock market and the unglamorous job of number crunching in order to catch white collar criminals. It's not something you think of when you think of a law enforcement drama. I loved how this was shot and filmed. Great cast and good acting. The two main characters were not perfect. They each had their own areas of strengths and that's why they made such good partners. I enjoyed it and my avg episode rating was 7.5. I didn't like how they stereotyped some things (mainly black americans) during scenes that were filmed abroad though...
-
129. De Koning: Eeuwige Monarch
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
This drama started out as a 6 for me, went down to a 5 in the second half, and those last 4 episodes I wanted to toss into the trash and set it on fire. You can tell they tried to rely on the Goblin fanbase a lot. Although I could stream it legally, I watched most of it on another site with 1.5 playback speed with fastforwarding.
I enjoyed the memes more than I enjoyed the drama itself. Thanks for the memories I guess...sucks for those who will be watching in the future without memes. It was a good hate watch.
Reasons to watch:
1. WDH
2. Maximus
3. The twins
4. The memes -
130. Fights Break Sphere: Season 1
Chinese Drama - 2018, 45 episodes
I NEED MORE! T-T I knew I was holding off on watching this drama for a reason, but I totally forgot until I went to add this to my Currently Watching and saw the "Season 1" in the title...But by then I had already watched the 1st episode so it was too late. I had 44 episodes to mentally prepare myself for the ending at least and I needed to clear this off my PTW anyway. Anyways, IF there is a season 2, i'm praying that they don't botch it up like they did with Ever Night s2. I will cry. I think I'm going to wait a couple months before I try Martial Universe.
-
131. Intense Love
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
The first 14 episodes are in the 6-6.5 range. The little sister in the first half was so annoying that it kind of ruined the drama for me, but the cat somewhat saved it. The sister is much more likable in the second half. It has its cute moments, good looking cast, and "steamy kisses". Overall, it's a decent time pass, but I'll probably forget about it in two weeks. Definitely overrated.
-
132. The Romance of Hua Rong
Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes
Good concept, but poorly executed. For a lower budget historical, it was pretty average.
-
133. Before Your Eyes Stop
Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes
It's a very stable BL and off to a good "start" for Korean BLs, though this is not the first Korean BL I've seen. They didn't fetishize too much, which is a plus for me. The cast interview was pretty cute. :3
-
134. Good Casting
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
A goofy action comedy that doesn't take itself seriously, so you shouldn't either. It has some genuinely funny moments, good transitions, and a female centered plot. However, it also has many plotholes and logical errors. It got a little too far from realism at some points, even for an action comedy. Basically, it was a hot mess. Some of it was done on purpose, some of it was not. I had some good laughs and enjoyed the action choreography.
-
135. My Husband in Law
Thai Drama - 2020, 15 episodes
I had some mixed feelings about some things, but in the end I absolutely loved it. After all, I watched this with half English subs and half Spanish subs and it was absolutely worth it. Let me tell you, watching this with Spanish subs really forced my to digest the script line by line and I have a new found appreciation for it. Also I knew Mark and Mew could act, but damn...Mark really brought his A game and I totally bought into Mew's act (if you know you know). All that being said, this drama really should have ended at 13.5 episodes. Also, wasn't a fan of unreliable narrator post episode 4 twist.
Side note: I noticed this director has also directed a ton of my favorite lakorns (and my most hated...Sawan Biang). Regardless, she's got a lot of hits under belt. -
136. Girl Next Room: Richy Rich
Thai Drama - 2020, 5 episodes
The concept of the Richy Rich club seems shallow, but I knew that going in. I just couldn't relate with her desperation to get in at the beginning. Off is like a puppy. Can't help but love him. I've only seen 1 other drama from the GNR series, but this will probably be the funniest out of all of them.
-
137. Amensalism
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
I don't know what to rate this cuz the plot was like a 5-6ish for me, but the soundtrack was amazing. I personally don't have the patience for slow-paced suspense and that's what this was. They definitely had some good concepts early on, but a lot of that stuff was lost in the later episodes or we saw less of it...same thing with the music. The acting was also pretty weak. >_<
-
138. The Romance of Tiger and Rose
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
I'm a sucker for parody dramas and this is a gender reversal drama, which tend to be hilarious. Set in a matriarchal society in Ancient China, a screenwriter finds herself in her own script. It's a very refreshing and hilarious story. The first half was amazing, but it sort of becomes stuck in a rut in the middle, and then picks back up again toward the end. Including the mediocre middle, the plot is about a 7.5. However, because this is such a unique story and I'd definitely recommend it to others, I'm keeping my rating at 8.
-
139. A Little Princess
Korean Movie - 2019
The kids were hilarious, cute, and fantastic actors.
-
140. Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight
Japanese Movie - 2019
Nothing special.
-
141. The Boyfriend Who Can't Kill and the Girlfriend Who Won't Die
Japanese Movie - 2019
Totally ended up tearing up. This movie deals with tough subject matter, so check the tags for triggering content. I liked the main storyline. I didn't care much for the other 2 couples.
-
142. Chaloey Sak
Thai Drama - 2010, 16 episodes
Finally cleared this! It was a historical lakorn that was more of a theatrical style of production. The OST suited the time period perfectly. It had a very interesting concept for revenge and a good cast. I loved the relationship between FL and her siblings. There were a lot of parts that were boring to me and I had to skip most of the parts with the SL.
-
143. Twogether
Korean TV Show - 2020, 8 episodes
Well my 2020 travel plans got cancelled, so I guess you can consider this my vacation. If you like The Amazing Race or Running Man, you will love this. The bromance is strong in this show.
Episode 1: I didn't know I needed this in my life.
Episode 2: Why do I feel like mischievous Seungi is corrupting pure Jasper?
Episode 3: "You look SO good", "Thanks, you look so good too"
Episode 4: They got schooled. xD
Episode 5: Seungi in his natural sneaky element. >:D
Episode 6: Omo, what a twist!
Episode 7: "100%!" Also, CARROM!
Episode 8: What an amazing and touching finale! ♥ -
144. Wait in Beijing
Chinese Drama - 2020, 46 episodes
The writer didn't do much research on American culture and practices. There were also stereotypes when it comes to race, which pissed me off. The Beijing part was a lot less annoying, but also very boring. I have no clue why they included these scenes. The writer tried to create two parallels: one with a designer trying to make it in NYC and one in Beijing. However, it was ultimately executed poorly. Most of the drama covered the NYC storylines. Things get slightly more interesting on the Beijing side when the Beijing designer starts getting more attention.
George Hu did a great job playing an alcoholic. I commend him for breaking out of his usual roles and challenging himself. I don't even know if this drama is even worth a hate watch because it's 46 episodes. xD Watch at your own risk. -
145. Real
Korean Movie - 2017
I really don't know what to rate this. It's technically your typical sex, drugs, and money type of movie, but it had an interesting twist to the genre. I absolutely loved the art direction. I've come to the conclusion that this movie is meant to be super confusing and trippy on purpose because you're supposed to experience the movie from the MC's perspective. It's basically an acid trip.
-
146. Old School Intern
Korean Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
-
147. Man to Man
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
It was a fun spy drama. I just didn't get that hooked. I just noticed Park Hae Jin is really good at acting cute with his eyes (that blinking thing he does lol). Giving it a 7 cuz action was good and it's still a way better NIS drama than Vagabond.
-
148. Kidnapping Game
Chinese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
All my questions were answered. The twist at the very very end was just a nice extra cherry on top. ^-^ It's a pretty good mystery/thriller. You will think you're smart and have things figured out, and you may be right, BUT you'll soon realize there is a whole nother layer on top of the twists. ML is a game designer and he's smart enough execute a kidnapping using technology to avoid the police.
-
149. My Love, Enlighten Me
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
At first I was like, "Not another hyperthymesia drama!" Luckily, they didn't get too caught up into the whole hyperthymesia thing. Some things pissed me off, like with her old agency and stuff, but overall I liked it. I loved the FL, I loved the actress who played her (Eleanor is my girl crush), I loved the FL's cat (Hotpot). The ML...it took me awhile to warm up to him. The whole tsundere thing was kind of annoying and unnecessary tbh. With a current 8.5 rating, it's a bit overrated in my opinion, but it's still a good drama.
This drama is cat lover approved! She is a bit rough with the cat though. >_< -
150. Imaginary Cat
Korean Drama - 2015, 8 episodes
That awkward moment when the cat is the best actor out of everyone.
It took me three attempts to watch this and I finally finished it! Third time's a charm I guess. It was a cute webseries with an okay plot. Maybe not worth watching unless you are an avid cat fan and stick to mainly watching the cat scenes. Even then, you might not be a fan of the ending. It is a cute, light watch though. -
151. Cat's Cradle
Chinese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
This is going to be my initial rating because I need to go back and rewatch this. Apparently, my dumb ass missed so much because A) I did not read the novel and B) A few things got lost in translation. It was only after I read the different interpretations in the comments, I was like 'OH, so that's what all the fuss was about.' My first mistake was thinking this was going to be a crime drama with a big WOW moment, but it didn't come. Instead the wow factor is how deeply intricate this is written with symbolism and subtle hints and clues.
+Fantastic child actors, great cast
+Well rounded characters
+Well written
+High quality production, little to no dubbing
+You get to hear different dialects
-Slow-paced (my impatient self couldn't stand it) -
152. Last One Standing
Chinese Drama - 2019, 24 episodes
This was basically a combination of some of the popular America dramas like Lost, The Walking Dead, and The 100. Technically, it's nothing new or original, but it's the best I've seen so far for this genre coming out of China. The acting is pretty great, especially for some of the zombie actors.
I kept getting distracted by how good looking Dai Xu is. xD It happened last time in his other drama too. Anyways, I've realized that I've seen enough iQiyi dramas and have become familiar with some of the actors to the point where I'm starting to predict who the villains are just based on casting. :( Oh well. -
153. Hong Ik Super
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
It was a giant commercial for various brands, but I still liked it because of Lee Yi Kyung and a spy drama. It's fun for a commercial webdrama.
-
154. Fake Princess
Chinese Drama - 2020, 27 episodes
It has my girl Eleanor in it playing a badass master thief. I liked how the FL figured out different gadgets and contraptions. I needed more of it tbh. This couple was pretty cute together too. The theme song was also cute. However, I found myself "forcing" my way through it and having to watch it at 2x playback speed. I couldn't figure out why though until I started reading the comments and I totally agree. It got super political and draggy toward the middle. It wasn't even interesting politics. It was the typical cliche harem and fight over the thrown stuff. They waited until the last 2 episodes to clear things up (many missed opportunities on pacing via spaced out revelations). Also, I'm kind of pissed at what they did to couples 2 and 3.
-
155. Neko Zamurai
Japanese Drama - 2013, 12 episodes
It's surprisingly written way better than I thought it was going to be. I loved how they compare the relationship between him and his daughter to his relationship with the cat. Also, the contrast of scary, tough looking guy hanging with adorable little kitty is highly amusing. Gotta love that theme song lol. ♫ Kill, Slay, Kill. ♫
-
156. Society Obsessed with Love
Korean Drama - 2018, 5 episodes
Haha, she dumped her bf so she could hang out more with her cat and cuz she felt like she was losing herself. XD Seems like something I would do. >_>
-
157. I, Myself
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
I think we've already established that I don't really like healing dramas because they are slow paced and make me fall asleep. However, this one caught my interest because it had a "food for thought" question in each episode. Keeping in mind that I have a slight negative bias toward this genre, I'll try to be as objective as possible.
This drama is about two loners. One recently became a loner because she broke up with her boyfriend and is now learning to do things on her own, whereas the other grew up as a loner due to circumstances and is now quite content with the way things are. Throughout this drama, the newbie loner learns to go through various experiences alone (holidays, travelling, etc.) as she tries to find herself. She often gets advice from the veteran loner on how to do things. Meanwhile, the veteran loner has things going on in his life and sort of has difficulty doing things together. He always maintains a distance. I think what really pulled me in was seeing the FL's character growth and the super sweet 2nd lead. Like seriously, the SLS got to me. In the end, I really liked the conclusion and message of the story. -
158. Bread and Soup and Cat Weather
Japanese Drama - 2013, 4 episodes
This was a little too slice of life/healing/slow-paced for my liking. I ended up falling asleep. >_< Idk, this drama is such a mood. I liked the scenes with the cat and enjoyed watching people eat deliciously at the restaurant. It's a wholesome watch. The plot on the other hand is very simple. It's about knowing/finding yourself.
-
159. Symphony's Romance
Chinese Drama - 2020, 40 episodes
I went in with LOW expectations and ended up really liking it. This is a remake that is more romance driven and they changed a lot. You have to watch it as its own thing otherwise you'll drive yourself crazy and end up being disappointed.
This drama had pretty crappy editing, which is unfortunate because for a drama related to music, video editing, sound editing and mixing, and foley are key. But tbh, this standard is nothing new to cdramas, so it didn't phase me.
Now this couple...OMG THEY WERE SO SWEET AND CUTE TOGETHER. My heart ended up melting into a puddle. The way he just takes care of her from the beginning without complaining too much is just the best. This main couple was pretty steady from beginning to end...no misunderstanding/breakup nonsense. The kisses weren't steamy or anything, but they were so sweet and suited this couple perfectly (like light fluffy kisses UwU).
The OST actually kind of grew on me. I liked the stripped down version of some of the songs. I also loved how they added a zither player to the plot. There were also cute little animation scenes throughout the drama that sped up the plot. I totally loved it.
Oh, and also NO MAKING FOREIGNERS SEEM LIKE ASSHOLES. I was amazed. They definitely had some outside input when creating this remake. They took out a lot of the controversial stuff like the maestro being a creep/pervert (though he is a bit flirtatious) and that one drummer that had an afro in the original now has adorable poodle hair in this remake.
I noticed this story focused a bit more on ML's story than FL's story, but they do address past traumas of both. There was also a lot of side character drama which was new. They didn't go too deep into things regarding main storyline, which I personally liked because if you've seen previous adaptations, you already have that background knowledge. -
160. Meo Me & You
Thai Drama - 2018, 20 episodes
-
161. The Princess is A Cat
Chinese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
The fat animated cat is surprisingly pretty cute and amusing. xD I'm so close to the end! I can almost see the light. Just 12 more episodes to go.
-
162. My Fantastic Mrs Right: Season 2
Chinese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
-
163. Leh Roy Ruk
Thai Drama - 2012, 14 episodes
I LOVE IT! I'm 80% sure this was a rewatch, but it never made it to my list because MDL didn't have Thai titles at time of watch. Speaking of which, I need to find my old excel doc and update those old lakorns on here. Anyways, Great playing a cheeky flirt is exactly the type of role I love him in because I get to see him smile. ♥ He's been taking on more serious roles lately. :( I'm tempted to give this drama a 7.5 because it's good on rewatch and it withstood the test of time.

164. Likit Haeng Jan
Thai Drama - 2019, 14 episodes
The action was pretty decent. I was expecting to see some character growth, but it didn't really happen except maybe for Opal. The other one had been coddled her whole life so I wasn't expecting her to make leaps and bounds, but she was still pretty clueless. Also, I think I'm the only one that shipped the girls with the guys from their own eras. >_<

165. Why R U?
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
Damn, FighTor totally stole the show. I hope we get to see SaiZon scenes that got cut due to covid. :( Anyways, the comments on yt were hilarious. xD About Fighter...boi kept looking for excuses to take his shirt off every opportunity he got. xD

166. Sai See Plerng
Thai Drama - 2014, 13 episodes
The tragedy wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. This was a solid revenge lakorn. I've seen many plots like this or variations of it to the point where a lot of the first half felt like deja vu. It's still a well made drama though for its plot. Some of it kind of reminded me of the American show "Revenge", but it's also a bit different and like I said this type of plot is used a lot of for revenge dramas. However, the second half broke away from the typical revenge lakorn mold so that was refreshing. Seeing Chompoo slay on screen is always entertaining and Chakrit is a talented actor as usual.

167. Dinner Mate
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
It was a simple plot, but I really loved it. I think a lot of it had to do with this being a more mature romance. ML is a mature, caring, and responsible man. It's always nice to see. :) Also, I really like how they covered the cute, but psycho ex and his treatment. Lee Ji Hoon really slayed this role. Excellent acting on his part.
-
168. My Girl
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Out of the cdramas that aired this year, it's an 8, but overall it's probably a 7.5 for me. It was a very refreshing and funny watch. FL has a made up illness. Don't try to associate it with PTSD or multiple personality otherwise you will end up driving yourself crazy.
-
169. Oh My Baby
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Some scenes in the beginning were laugh out loud hilarious, but it was blergh by the time I got to the end. Not sure what direction they were going with the plot. There was barely any plot movement and a lot of back and forth between the characters with very little being resolved. I could not relate to her desperation of wanting to have baby. As far as pregnancy/ivf/baby related plots go, I've seen better. This drama was just an excuse for baby related PPL.

170. Love Trap
Chinese Drama - 2020, 10 episodes
-
171. (We Don't Know Much but) We Are a Family
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Worth the hype! Not that there was much of it. This was a very well written family drama with lots of twists. The writers loved to troll. Every single character had some sort of flaw or shady secret. It was realistic in that sense and also in the way they addressed how keeping secrets, pretending problems don't exist, and not communicating can blow up one day and create scars. This family was not dysfunctional, but it certainly had its problems like every family does. It surprisingly did not hit any topics on my taboo list (though I was nervous it would).
-
172. 8 Days Limited
Taiwanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
It's a low budget webdrama with bad acting. it's supposed to be light and goofy. It was short so it wasn't too much of a waste of time. The last tenant was probably the most entertaining even though he was greasy af.

173. Broject
Korean Special - 2018, 2 episodes
-
174. Payakorn Sorn Ruk
Thai Drama - 2020, 13 episodes
Wow, this flew by a lot faster than I thought it would since I usually don't watch lakorns while they air. This had a great concept, but there were issues with the pacing (too much happening in the beginning) and it got pretty repetitive. Way too much of the hero saving the damsel in distress. Overall, it was okay. Rawee was my favorite character. ♥
-
175. Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
I'm gonna miss this gang. ♥ I really liked the cases in this drama. I feel like the comedy really balanced it out, not that it was super dark for a crime drama. It was pretty light. The comedy was a nice touch. It was simple, but they hit you with it at the most unexpected moments. xD
+The horse neigh
+The shocked face look
+Scene transitions
+Teddy ♥ What a sweetheart
-Last four episodes were kinda draggy (or I found that case the least interesting). -
176. Summer's Desire
Chinese Drama - 2018, 36 episodes
The original is better. I actually didn't mind the actors that much. I thought they did a decent job. They were young though, and it showed (especially when it came to the kisses). I wasn't a fan of the editing and script. Stuff would happen, but they would randomly explain it to the audience much later on leaving people confused. They also took out a lot of backstory with the parents, which I missed. I liked how they gave Ou Chen friends. I could've cared less about the other side characters and their filler romances or the filler business drama.
-
177. Convenience Store Saet Byul
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Okay cultural appropriation and raciness aside, my main issue was the plot, or lack thereof. I kept falling asleep cuz it was a bunch of dumb interactions at the convenience store. The story didn't pick up until ep6 with the scammer incident.
+1 for the parodies/cameos. Each episode had 1 ridiculous scene that managed to make me laugh
+1 for ML's mom. She was the BEST. I teared up when it came to her scenes.
Contrary to most commentators, I actually liked the FL. Oddly, I didn't like the ML. He was kind of a loser and a bit two faced. However, he changed by the end.
-------------------------
I think the main issue with this drama was the marketing. They took a plot that was originally intended for a male audience and then marketed toward a young female audience. All the "scandalous" stuff was just deemed unacceptable as a result. Then they casted Kim Yoo Jung, known as the "nation's sister", who has a very pure and young image as the FL. So now you have her here playing this sexy, voluptuous, but badass woman with a more older look. No wonder people's brains short circuited. We still haven't seen her transition into college girl roles yet lol. They casted JCW to attract a female fanbase (don't even deny it). So now you have a plot that is basically a "seinen" or "echi" genre and are selling it to a young female fanbase. Of course there are gonna be issues! -
178. It's Okay to Not Be Okay
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
-
179. You Are My Destiny
Chinese Drama - 2020, 36 episodes
The last 5 episodes were extra draggy, but the second arch was kind of draggy to begin with anyway. I really don't know what to rate this series because I love the original so much. Out of all the 4 remakes, this one is probably the best. Although, I did give the Korean version an 8/10 so maybe I need to reevaluate that.
The one thing I miss is the animated conception scene. xD Each country had its own unique twist to it, but this version took it out altogether. Dylan...dude reminded me of a walking Ken doll for some reason. I swear the SLS hits me every time with this character. His only flaw was that last selfish request toward the end. =.= -
180. My Beautiful Bride
Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes
-
181. Yamikin Ushijima-kun
Japanese Drama - 2010, 9 episodes
Shows the dark side of being a loan shark. I didn't think it was that dark of a drama compared to the last one I watched, but it's for a mature audience (has a lot of half naked girls due to the sex work industry). I found it interesting how they show various customers and how they ended up taking private loans to begin with. Loved how they show it's a vicious cycle and a lot of stuff is connected with the underground industry.
-
182. SHARK 2nd Season
Japanese Drama - 2014, 12 episodes
I swear, this band has way more drama than the MDL public feed. That being said, I liked season 1 better. Apparently this was on my PTW, so I used Shark Week as an excuse to clear it from my list.
-
183. Welcome 2 Life
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
Last drama finally completed for Shark week (it had the Loan Shark tag). It was a good drama, but idk, I really find myself forcing through Rain's dramas for some reason. His character was pretty funny in this one though. Some of the stuff about the parallel worlds confused me. Like it was supposed to be this different world where characters had different personalities, but when they switched back, the characters were the same as the other world. The only thing different was his life/family.
-
184. Mystic Pop-Up Bar
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
Cat's Bar meets Hotel Del Luna meets Goblin? It was good, I just had to force myself to get through it because of a couple of recycled concepts. I loved the second half. I predicted one of the major twists (despite the sneaky editing!) The other one kind of caught me off guard, but I did see the hints the whole time. Is it weird that I couldn't recognize Hwang Jung Eum without the "ugly" hair and terrible clothing? I was like, "Man, the resemblance is uncanny. She sounds EXACTLY the same." And then 3 episodes in, I checked the cast and was shook because it actually was her.
-
185. Catch the Ghost
Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes
This was my top personalized MDL recommendation, so I finally decided to check it out. It was alright. Like many people said, depending on whether you can tolerate the FL's reckless and crazy behavior, this show is either make it or break it. I couldn't stand her for the first 3 episodes, but then she became much more tolerable. I enjoyed the cases and how they were able to help people and of course their crazy undercover disguises they used to catch petty thieves and perverts.
-
186. Ip Man
Hong Kong Movie - 2008
-
187. The Girl Allergic to WiFi
Filipino Movie - 2018
Well, fudge. That didn't end the way I expected. First of all, I LOVED the soundtrack. I know it's a teen movie, but the teen drama is just ugh. The explanation and plot surrounding her allergy kind of didn't make sense. Interesting concept though. On a personal note, I literally go through withdrawal if I know there's no wifi/internet option available.

188. Don't Lie To Your Lover
Chinese Drama - 2020, 31 episodes
This is most def a time pass or "filler" drama. Idk why it has a high rating. The first 10 episodes are kind of pretty good, but then it goes downhill from there plotwise. It's also very formulaic and cliche (not in a good way). You've got FL who becomes the assistant of ML (surprise surprise), they can't stand each other, then start falling in love, and then cohabitation due to circumstances. However, her reason for moving in just wasn't good enough for me. And then of course there's lots of drama, lying, and sabotaging. Why can't there be more sisterhood in these dramas besides the one best friend? Where do people learn this money grubbing mentality of leaching off of wealthier family (alive or deceased) or finding a rich man? Go earn money yourself.
pros: lots of skinship and cute little animated scenes at the end of each episode.
cons: see above + FL is a doormat even if she lies for other's sake. -
189. Train
Korean Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
You know the suspense is good when some scenes have you holding your breath. I'm not gonna say much about this series and will let you discover it for yourself. It's even better if you don't read the synopsis and let things unravel. All you need to know is that it's an OCN drama, so expect your usual bloody triggers. In a way, it's similar to another drama I watched this year (hint: 2019 drama I gave a very rare 9 rating).

190. The Ballot
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
Maybe a 6 depending on whether you dislike slice of life or politics, but this drama won me over as a feel good drama. At first, I had a love/hate relationship with the FL. She is crazy, wild, and ambitious. Sometimes it would be too much and she would beat up the poor ML on top of that. However, there is *some* character growth to this story, which makes it more tolerable. In a way, this kind of reminded me of Miss Hammurabi. Both FLs are ambitious government employees that are new to the job and outcasts at work.
I also thought that the power dynamics of this couple was refreshing. Technically, it's a reverse power dynamic cuz ML ends up working for FL. However, the ML is also the brains in the relationship, so I'd say it's pretty equal. Also, FL's family is the best. ♥ -
191. Fairyland Lovers
Chinese Drama - 2020, 35 episodes
If you've read the novel you might be slightly disappointed. I only had a taste of it (20 chapters or so) and I was surprised at the difference between the novel and drama. I tried to hold off watching this drama so I could watch with a fresh pair of eyes and it didn't really work. :( It's still a pretty good supernatural drama though. I just feel like the FL was less annoying in the novel. In the drama, they made her the typical nosey FL with boundary issues when it comes to the ML....in the beginning at least. Anyways, Bai Yu's acting is fantastic (as usual).
-
192. Our Love
Chinese Drama - 2013, 36 episodes
It's actually pretty good for older cdrama standards. Although, it probably could've been reduced down to 20-25 episodes (from 32). This drama gave me Taiwanese drama vibes with the whole beach hometown + loving parents thing...also you have Taiwanese actors Ray Chang and Joanne Tseng as part of the main cast. It makes me wonder if this is a remake.
-
193. The Way We Were
Taiwanese Drama - 2014, 16 episodes
ugh, this makes growing up seem depressing af. rating based off of personal preference (it's rare for me to do this, but it's definitely not something i would recommend although it's technically not bad).
-
194. Did We Love?
Korean Drama - 2020, 16 episodes
Like I said, it would come down to the final episode, and so my rating dropped. Episodes 1-15 were like a 7 for me. It was a good binge watch and I found it rather enjoyable despite its flaws and some ridiculous scenarios. However, the ending kind of disappointed me. I needed some characters to be punished and they pretty much glossed stuff over or never closed the loophole on one of the characters. It left me pretty annoyed.
-
195. Jao Sao Chang Yon
Thai Drama - 2018, 30 episodes
Meh, it was all right. The main thing that it had going for it was that the FL was a mechanic. I didn't really feel the chemistry between main couple. I pretty much had to use Brownie's "Korean Style" method to get through this, except I DID watch the last two episodes (which I regret doing btw...smh that ending). I would've given it a 6, but ending tanked.
-
196. Ip Man 2: Legend of Grandmaster
Hong Kong Movie - 2010
mom: so what's the big deal about this guy?
me: famous martial artist. he was bruce lee's teacher.
mom: so where's bruce lee?
me: he's not in it. it's about his teacher's life.
mom: so when does bruce lee come?
me: HE IS NOT IN THE MOVIE
*1hr 30 min later*
me: nvm -
197. Su Yu
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Unpopular Opinion: I really did not like the ML and found him really annoying. I wanted to drop, but mainly stuck around to see some character growth...it was not enough. The humor is so ridiculous and absurd, but I'll admit it's laugh out loud hilarious. xD I think this story and humor is more suited for a donghua adaptation.
-
198. Secret Theory of Kissing
Thai Special - 2020, 1 episode
Finished it yesterday. ^^ Pretty great for just a pilot and graduation project.
-
199. The Guy is That Guy
Korean Drama - 2020, 32 episodes
-
200. Go Ahead
Chinese Drama - 2020, 46 episodes
Silly me stopped at episode 30 and was waiting for the last 6 episodes to come out, not realizing that the version I was watching ended at 40. What can I say? It's impossible not to fall in love with this family, especially Daddy Li. ♥ It's a very heartwarming and funny drama, but also very deep. Be prepared for tears cuz some scenes are heart wrenching and some characters are toxic. The beginning is very fast paced, but then it becomes more moderate or slow paced. I like how they concluded things, but I could just keep on watching this loving family.
