Jang Keun Suk as Kang Moo Gyul reminds me of how Seo In Guk plays Kim Moo Young in TSHLYE
wow, this drama has really continued to get better in the second half!! first of all, i saw this comment on the streaming site which i agree with, "If we look on paper Jung In is the better guy to get married to and love would probably develop after a while. Mu Gyul is the boyfriend every girl wants: a bad boy with a soft heart. His lifestyle is fine for a musician who's trying to make it. If she was older she would probably play it safe with Jung In. But she's only 23 and she's looking for love not marriage".i honestly think this was such an outstanding episode. Moo Kyul's mother is deciding to move to Paris with her boyfriend leaving her son behind, and totally not caring about her son feels about it. there's a scene in the beginning where he was wrapping paper planes and his mom was there, and she said that whenever her son misses her, he would come over and fly over those paper planes. But we saw from the flashback that everytime he did that, his mom only looked out for him from the apartment window and asked him to go back immediately without meeting him in person or hugging him. then we get a fast forward scene when Moo Kyul was reminiscing on that and has teary eyes of pain, but he couldn't cry it out. i think that scene was so painful. you're so sad inside but it's almost like you've got no tears left to cry.also the scenes when he took Mary out to see sunrise at the beach but got off the wrong one, and got caught by her father, and had to listen to his disapproval again and again and again. then have Jung In came to him to threaten him with the fact that he's Mary's legal husband. and how he tried to confirm with his mother about her opinions of marriage and she responded saying she doesn't have the confidence to commit to someone ever. all of these really messes someone up. you can see immense struggle by Kang Moo Kyul to cope with his own emotional issues as well as trying to win over the war with other people who are involved and have a stake of interest in Mary's life. Jang Keun Suk portrays all these complex emotions so well, and yet so subtly because we can see he grew up with such vacuum of love that he's quite numb to expressing himself properly. HE REMINDS ME OF HOW SEO IN GUK PLAYS KIM MOO YOUNG IN THE SMILE HAS LEFT YOUR EYES AND I SAY THAT TO MEAN THAT HE'S SO FCKIN BRILLIANT IN THIS!
wow okay i think this has one of the nicest endings of a rom-com kdramas i have seen anywhere. the ending here is better than BoF i think, and quite similar to Hana Yori Dango season 2 when Tsukasa proposed to Tsukushi in the stadium LOL (here he went down towards her from the performing stage and hugged her in front of all the audience LMAO). also the scene when he sang the song WHAT DO I DO in its entirety at the stage, not sure if the one played in the drama is the studio version or the live version, but i loved him singing that song! in fact i love all the OST that he sang in this.i also really liked the scene in the middle of the episode when she had to pretend as Go Mi Nam again because of an emergency situation and was caught by Tae Kyung right away. how? because he holds her hand and remembers the feeling when they held hands a few times before. that scene just made my heart flutter. also we get the scene at the end where Tae Kyung's mother sincerely asked for his apology and he's now willing to take steps to forgive her. she seems like still going to Africa which i don't really get LOL, but maybe for a short while only for her to decide on her path/passion. overall, i enjoyed the final episode. i thought it was quite well done, compared to ones preceding it.
whoever thought of doing the handcuff scene and losing the key so they had to stuck up with each other all day between the two is so fckin genius kekeke! the episode was so funny because of it. also, some scenes in previous episodes were funny too, like when Mo Gyul had to handle drunken Mae Ri's father as well as when he pretended to have cut his hair and dyed it black when the father threatened him LMAOOOOO! also loved the scene when they were being chased by crazy obsessive high school girls who got jealous, leading to them confessing their feelings to each other and kissing. i know that night was supposed to be her engagement with the Director, but when i see JGS oppa i sincerely only see him and no one else. I LOVE YOU OPPA 3000x. you're so adorable!!
i don't know why somehow i feel in agreement with how Yi In Jwa made Baek Dae Gil as his chess play since he was born when everything that happened to him was so cruel. but true enough if had grown up in the palace under the upbringing of his King father, he would not have turned out the way he did today. and the way Yi In Jwa suddenly told him that his father Baek Dae Gum was still alive just to ask Dae Gil to ask him from the death execution is really too much. my poor baby :(
did they used to execute a murder suspect so quickly? literally the murder has been so recent and the King told him that he will be executed tomorrow morning if he can't catch the real killer by tonight. gosh ancient laws are so fckin depressing. also the scene when the Queen consort went to see Baek Dae Gil during torture, and kneeled in front of him and hold his hand, LOL he was so weirded out by that but seemed 'trusting' when she said it's because he's the only friend of her son, Prince Yeoning. no boy, it's because she's your mother!!!
halfway through the drama!i really loved Baek Dae Gil x Prince Yeoning interactions LOL. Dae Gil knows the Prince is younger than him so he talks informally with him despite his status. and also offered to be friends though he was rejected. and he never backed down even though the Prince truly hated it, LOL.now the Prince himself calls Dae Gil his friend because they have helped each other multiple times. but Dae Gil told him to call him 'hyung' which he does not LOL. maybe he's shy.also love love love Dae Gil's interactions with his grandpa. the grandpa is really affectionate towards him and he tries to act cool about it but actually he's a spoiled brat who loves it LMAO.the scene at the Six Ghost gambling den when he was reunited with Seol Im whom he met when he was enslaved, he brought her back with him to their house after all the slaves were successfully freed. so the grandpa is teasing him that they are dating but he vehemently refused.it's quite sad because you can see in Seol Im's eyes that she loves him already. but seems like Dae Gil hasn't moved on from Dam Seo, his love at first sight who he has seen himself, got close to Prince Yeoning.if i were to rate the first half of this drama so far, i would no doubt give it a 10/10. THIS DRAMA IS FCKIN INCREDIBLE, PLEASE BE GOOD UNTIL THE END.
Jang Geun Suk and Yeo Jin Goo in one frame is too fckin powerful, THERE I SAID IT. Also i can't wait to see how Baek Dae Gil will take down the assistants of Yi In Jwa one by one, especially the ones at the gambling den. That Six Ghost b*tch, not only he's ugly AF but he's also more evil than the satan. screw him, boys!!!
last episodes when his Master instructed him to qualify 3 tests before he can be deemed to have passed: 1) closing his eyes and then slicing a flying petal with his sword, 2) to shoot an arrow that pierces through a coin, and 3) battle sword fight with his master without being knocked off as well as capturing shooting arrows that go into his direction with his eyes closed LOL. and in this episode after multiple seasons have changed, he finally survived all...!!! and now he's back in action, stronger than ever winning all gambling money in the gambling dens owned/controlled by Yin In Hwa, and he's stronger than ever to take that old bastard down. go Bae Dak Gil!
gosh. this episode was outstanding...!!! we already had the two male leads in one frame before but in this episode their interaction is full of tension that it really drives me crazy LOL! i can't wait for more bittersweet interactions between both of them. i already have a feel that this drama is going to be breaking my heart 100x and over, NOOOOO :(
Ever since they did the raise-your-heartbeat game in ep. 15 that made SJK kissed SJH, it's become a legendary game that's so fckin hilarious and iconic in Running Man LOL. The whole segment of it was so funny, and I have to say when Yoo Jae Suk was attacked by his 'shady' past is when it gets bloody hilarious. XD Loved the 'sort-the-recycling-items' game at the beginning as it was informative and also enjoyed the mother and sons chasing vs. mission game LOL. The mission team have had very little luck winning when KJK is the one chasing them lmao, mf is such a beast!
the slapstick comedy sunbae made this episode so uncomfortable to watch!
gosh the guest really ruined this episode for me and most everyone else. came back to minute 39:38 when i saw a comment mention it, a scene when the comedian sunbae guest sprayed water from inside his mouth to Ji Suk Jin's face when he made a mistake at re-enacting the slapstick comedy. also Yoo Jae Suk took the bamboo stick away from Lee Kwang Soo because he had to hit Ji Suk Jin on the head while doing the scene, and he wasn't doing it properly (which means YJS was going front to get hit instead of LKS). the way YJS especially takes care of his hoobaes on the show is so heartwarming, and it always reminds me as to why he's my ultimate fave on the show. the mission team vs. chasing team game at the ski resort was hella fun as well because the sunbae was eliminated early LOL! it was nice to see them having fun, especially HaHa-Kwangsoo movie game and Gary-HaHa mellow reconciliation short movie (friendship that ripped apart because of Song Ji Hyo) kekekeke.
they started off with the 1 vs. 9 quiz game, then the cooking competition and then ended it again with 1 vs 9 chasing game LOL. HaHa was so smart when he thought about betraying his team to save his own ass against the punishment LOL. i must say i feel bad because Yoo Jae Suk always gets unlucky every week with the punishment HAHAHA!
HAHAHAA! this episode is so funny LOL. the birth of Haroro, also Yoo Hyuk (dance crew president) on top of his another alter ego Yooruce Willis haha! also the flying petals CG that they did for his scene when he got jealous that the flower boys of last week (Yong Hwa and Joong Ki) got it LOL LOL LOL. also i love the pirate suit that the chasing team wears haha, they look so good but funny in it. the Titanic scene and also the scene at the end which has Jong Kook escaping everyone else holding him in arms at the prison but he still managed to break through so easily and bulldoze them over like a bull HAHAHAHA! i can never forget this scene damn, fckin iconic!!! I CRIED FROM LAUGHING TOO HARD WATCHING THIS EPISODE, SUCH A GEM!
Lee Yeong Ja going to Namdaemun Market to survey foods and trying to disguise herself by wearing wigs of the brightest colours ever (red and green) are so funny HAHAHA! also the way she deliciously ate the street hotteok with the grandpa and then eat the vegetable hotteok at other famous stall. gosh she really knows how to make people hungry LOL. i really wanna make hotteok at some point although i have never tasted it!
