daebak!!! what a plot twist, damn i didn't expect that.1. when Dong Soo saw that the Qing emissary was going to forcefully take away Ji Seon to see Qing Emperor because she has the map tattoo, and fought the gang. i mean he fought with Yeo Un and he lost again as expected, but Yeo Un couldn't easily bring himself to kill him until they were intercepted by the Sword Saint. ouh i loved it when Jin Joo shot arrow with fire onto the Northern Expedition booklet so it burned. and then to get rid of that damned destiny, Dong Soo actually burned Ji Seon's back in front of everyone. finally those assholes can leave her alone. damn.2. before Yeo Un leaving after seeing Ji Seon getting the treatment, Dong Soo told him that if he wants to leave or not want to leave Haeoksa Chorong, Dong Soo will wait for him no matter what. basically telling Yeo Un that he can get rid of his damned fate too, if he chooses to. only for Yeo Un to come back to the Haeoksa Chorong hideout and be told that the Sky Lord has left to fight off the other master assassins in different provinces, so he must take over as the master of their group. and that he can't leave, because the assassins will chase him to the ends of earth if he ever tries to give up the assassin life.3. Jin Joo holding back her feelings in front of Dong Soo because she knows she's being friendzoned. goshh i feel for her so much :(4. when Dong Soo and Sword Saint left to the mountains for a dedicated and an uninterrupted martial arts training. and he made promise with Ji Seon that she needed to wait for him, and she obliged.//okay here's the thing. i know Dong Soo is hell-bent on wanting Ji Seon as his life partner, but more than her i actually ship him more with two other people:i. Yeo Unii. Jin Joo,hahaha! i don't have any issues with Ji Seon's character or her stiffness. i think the story has explained her journey really well. i can see why Dong Soo and Yeo Un are enchanted with her too, she has this quiet and serene charm which is very attractive for men who's life surrounded by utter chaos. i totally get that. i just feel like this is a couple in drama where even though they really love each other, they don't necessarily have to be together. life's cruel like that, LOL.now Ji Seon's fate has been resolved, i'm left with utter heartbreak with Yeo Un's damnation of his fate. that boy seriously can't get a break, if he leaves he'll either be killed or has to live as a fugitive for the rest of his life. what a fckin devastating burden to bear. now i understand why the Earth Lord ahjumma never left Haeoksa Chorong even though Sword Saint was willing to risk it all for her.as for Dong Soo, the scene when he burned the tattoed back of Ji Seon's, that was a major shock for me. imagine doing that to the very person whom you wish no harm. Yeo Un was right when he thought to himself, "if i ever thought of doing that before Dong Soo ever did, will i actually went ahead and do it?"his sad eyes really broke me. i literally wrote commentary in the last episode about how Yeo Un slashed a small opening in Ji Seon's back when she was asked to bare her chest, and he obviously knows how to protect her. it's just that in this case, Dong Soo is the real winner because he's simply more desperate than anyone can ever. Dong Soo, you're the man!!!
Thank goodness Dong Soo finally snapped out of his wits! >.>
Dong Soo continued on in this episode with his depression even after a month has passed, refusing to defend himself when he gets constantly beaten up by the Sword Saint. Finally Jin Joo took him with her to the shed that they were in when they were kids, when he saved her from fire despite his limbs being a bit abnormally stiff since birth. Dong Soo snapped out of his wits and saved her again this time, finally. Also the reunion of Jin Joo and her birth mother who's the Earth Lord ahjumma from Heoksa Chorong, that was really nice. Finally she's not avoiding her daughter anymore. Also Jin Joo's relationship with her adopted father is really beautiful and pure, just love em'!Ending is when Yeo Un received the order to escort Ji Seon to see Qing Emperor, though the condition is that once he reached the land he can no longer protect her. So he tried to negotiate with Sky Lord about it but failed. In fact he received the threat that if he fails the mission, he will be killed alongside that woman. When Yeo Un went over with the woman to see Qing's emissary, that asshole urges her to strip down her chest so he can see her tattoo. Before she could strip off her clothes, Yeo Un quickly slashed a piece of her clothing at the back so he could see it LOL. Really, full on charisma Yeo Un's style. He loves the girl too, but moved over because he saw Dong Soo goes crazy for her, but he protects her quietly in his own ways. Auwhhh. ❤❤❤The scene then closed with Dong Soo rushing over to meet Ji Seon just before she boards the ship to Qing and tries to stop them from taking her away. Gahh he's always so reckless like this. He's only one person and he has to fight so manyyyyy. :(P/s honestly i feel like this Ji Seon's character is about to be killed anytime soon (her life is always on the verge of standing off a cliff), so when he finally lose her i feel like Dong Soo will finally accept Jin Joo's heart who i find much more fitting for him. That girl sincerely loved him since they were kids, what a keeper!
Dong Soo-yaaaaaa, my heart hurts when i look at you! :((
wow, okay so many heartbreaking things happened again :((1. Suh Ung (Chief Commander) who was killed in previous episode by Sky Lord and Yeo Un.2. Crown Prince Sado who was also killed because he went ahead in full force to try and kill Sky Lord for revenge.3. Dong Soo came but he was too late, and saw that Yeo Un was sitting near Crown Prince corpse unharmed, so he knew that Yeo Un was the traitor.4. Dong Soo went to try to kill Yeo Un and Yeo Un begged him to stop because he's never lost a match with Dong Soo, and then Ji Sun the noble descendant girl saw that Yeo Un was gonna slice Dong Soo and she stopped him, and got stabbed by Dong Soo's sword instead.5. i'm not sure if Ji Sun died, but she wanted to be by Crown Prince side so Dong Soo brought her back to be with the guy. she seemed to have passed out only because the sword only stabbed her on the torso's lower side, then Sky Lord took the girl away because he saw that she was the reason for Yeo Un and Dong Soo's weird situation or something like that LOL.//i really liked scene no. 5 because Dong Soo saw the girl he loves had tangled fate with the Crown Prince LOL but he accepted that part of her and was willing to deal with it. his love is so pure, true indeed he's a very loyal and unselfish person.fast forward from Crown Prince Sado we now have his son, the Prince Heir Yi San who's closely protected by Sword Saint.but Dong Soo still lived in the past. i thought he looked really despondent right in that scene when it all came crushing down, but actually he was struck with depression!!! that part really knocked me over. i didn't expect the writer to go down this route. it's honestly really surprising to me.i think the biggest blow is finding out that Yeo Un who's really close to him as the real traitor, and losing the girl he loves to Sky Lord.that boy is so miserable and dead inside, i wonder if he could find a reason to live again after being reunited with Ji Seon, sighh. i'm so heartbroken for him.also a small clip of Yeo Un who's now become a close associate to Sky Lord, and we saw he's ranked higher than the others, and the other assassins of Hokseo Chorong pledged allegiance to him and Sky Lord.i really wanna see Yeo Un leave the dark side once and for all, jebal. it's gonna be quite a journey :((
daebak. the way this drama is hella intense in a way that drives me crazy!!!three points of this episode:1. Yeo Un went with his Heokso Chorong assassins to kill the three martial arts trainee friends during his mountain days. he sliced/stabbed them himself indeed as was seen in the last episode's cliffhanger but in this episode, we could see that after the other assassins have left, he ran back over quickly to treat their wounds and they did not die. and when the person who knew it was Yeo Un woke up, he was surprised to see Yeo Un there but knowing that he and his friends did not die, he didn't give away Yeo Un's real assassin identity when asked about the incident.2. when Dong Soo volunteered to go into the box in place of the Crown Prince who was stripped of his title and given a sentence of solitary confinement because the alleged act of treason (he wore a robe that had Qing Dynasty emperor's signature given by Joseon Queen). but Cho Rip overheard the Commander's conversation that Dong Soo is the last bloodline of the Baek clan, and that their Master gave up an arm for his life. so he went for it instead of Dong Soo, and the way Dong Soo went crazy amok about it. that scene was so touching and it made me cry. JCW was exceptional in that scene, Dong Soo's really a great character, so loyal and unselfish.3. when the Sky Lord assassin master found Crown Prince who was on the run with the Commander, and he fought him. then the Commander saw Yeo Un coming with the assassin group, so he knew right away. he went over to slice Yeo Un, but got blocked by Sky Lord and got stabbed instead, because Yeo Un is the successor of the Hokseo Churong group so one should kill the boy. the blow here is that Yeo Un was the one who finished the job because the Sky Lord is there, sighhh.//i wanna know what's the real deal with Yeo Un's character. clearly he's a bit messed up in the head. true that he pledged his loyalty with the Hokseo Chorong in his teenager but he has lived most of his life with good people, especially Dok Soo and Cho Rip. not sure what's the real deal behind him not leaving the assassin group, i suspect because they'll kill him right away if he ever tries to leave.but there's a similar character to Yeo Un's here that i have seen in another sageuk. it's the SML character in My Country: The New Age played by Woo Do Hwan (not assassin, but someone who's a real heart-breaker). but Yoo Seung Ho, wow. this boy steals my eyes everytime the camera's on him. the scene when he finished off the Commander by stabbing him, the only dialogue he uttered was "i'm sorry" but his eyes were as painful and deep as the ocean how do i deal :((if you hear a sound somewhere, it's the sound of my heart breaking into pieces because of Yeo Un. :/
Wow this episode was great!!!When the boys had to lit fire to signal to the palace for the test to pass the Beacon guard position, and they almost failed because it was raining. Failure is not an option since failing to pass the test would mean a death penalty. One arrow left to shoot, and Dong Soo gave it to Yeo Un to shoot instead and he did it!!! And they hugged, uwuuu.Their bromance is insane. Yeo Un also was the one who sucked the snake poison from Dong Soo's arm when he got bitten in previous episode. I really underestimated this drama because it's old but the bromance is crazy good! They're my most favourite ship of the drama LOL.I really love JCW's athleticism and acrobatic fighting moves. YSH too. They're both really good. Can't get over that YSH is 6 years younger than JCW but he pulled off this character so well gdamn.❤❤❤❤❤
haha, i can't get enough of Baek Dong Soo's antics LOL. he's such a huge troublemaker who lacks sensibility of self-behaving lmao, completely opposite of Yeo Wun.he literally almost got punished with the death penalty after being mistakenly caught as the thief to Qing dynasty's emissary's cabin LOL. lucky the Crown Prince remembers him and bailed him out, tskkk.
HAHAHAHA! i have never watched a historical drama that inserted comedy scenes, this was so funny LOL. ahh i remember The Royal Gambler had funny scenes in the beginning because Baek Dae Gil's character was such a mess, lmao.here i feel like they started off the character of Baek Dong Soo just like Baek Dae Gil in The Royal Gambler, someone who's funny, immature, a brat, clumsy and kinda weak haha.the scenes when Baek Dong Soo met the Sword Saint who casually was walking into the robber's circle when they were tryna steal from the group, and the ahjussi easily overtook them was badas AF, lol. and then Dong Soo followed the ahjussi sneakily because he wanted to have a match with him, and he lost HAHAHA.also at night when he and Cha Rip re-grouped with Yeo Un and Ji Seon, he saw the girl having a cut on her leg, and brought over medicinal herbs to place on her ankle, and he crushed the leaves by chewing on them, but Cha Rip says it's dirty because it's coming from someone who doesn't even gargle his mouth HAHAHAHAHA i'm dead!also the same night when he told Yeo Un he wanted to fight again, and he lost again, and Cha Rip said it's 1378-0 kekekeke! he's so damn pathetic. also he saw that she was cold, so he took off his top and gave her his outerwear, and only sleep with his sling-shirt on haha. why is this boy like this? i can't-also the next day turned out he realised that the leaves he gave her was not medicinal rather a poisonous weed HAHAHAHA this boy. he cracked me up LOL.//i must say i am really liking this ahjussi who plays the Sword Saint in this drama, also Choi Min Soo is here. both of them were in The Royal Gambler too. the Sword Saint ahjussi plays the villain/kingmaker in the TRG and Choi Min Soo sunbaenim plays the king.they ended this episode with a little backstory of how these two warriors have a troubled past from a love triangle with one woman, but i want more information LOL.p/s Yeo Un's cold charisma character type. WITH THAT GORGEOUS FACE. WOW. I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIM.i am damn hooked to this drama, so good so far!!! ^^
wow okay the adult actors finally made an appearance, pheww. what a journey.i remember when i came back to dramaland, it was JCW's Healer, K2 and Suspicious Partner that really glued me in and made me dig more into other k-dramas. i definitely considered watching all his older dramas but never got to them yet because i got distracted by other actors, and now finally i started this because YSH's also in it.i have to say i surprise myself madly that when they are side by side, and i am more awestruck by YSH's visual than JCW's, when i remember seeing/watching JCW back-to-back in Healer/K2/SP and thinking, "i am not sure i have seen or will ever see someone more good-looking than him LOL what the fckkkk how can someone be so fckin gorgeous!!!", lmao.truth be told, not sure if i am missing out any cues here but i make a lot of lists and YSH hardly gets to top 5 of anything unless it's a I'M NOT A ROBOT when in fact, i know immediately he's a top tier talent when i first saw him in Remember (2015).any Yoo Seung Ho stan here on MDL if you read this, please let me know and let's be friends for the love of everything good and godly, LOL.
so it's in this episode the scene where SJK's character (current King) confronted the former King (his own father). the most iconic scene of his short 4 episode appearance in this drama i believe, because it seemed to have been commented/referred to a lot just to praise his acting (where all the veterans gathered).well they are no wrong. SJK is the kind of actor who i consider having generally calm eyes all around, so when he has to express difficult scene, he can't do it with his eyes only but his entire facial muscle has to move in the same way. which makes it more difficult i guess, compared to other actors with naturally deep, expressive eyes like Yoo Seung Ho.he's definitely smart to pick up this role because having left a great impression off it, it became a sure stepping stone for him to become ML in The Innocent Man, a complex melodrama of 20 episodes. in fact i am smart too because my first viewing experience of his acting was that drama which definitely gave me a big shock factor because i didn't know he's that good, which gave me a solid, more unbiased appreciation of his acting talent rather than coming from this reputation of a big Hallyu star following the major success of DOTS.he's one of the k-actors so far whose multiples of main projects are very high on my rewatch list. a true gem who's easy on the eyes too, LOL.
fake Italian chef ahjussi, fighting!!! HAHAHA poor thing he's so traumatized
gahh so many things happened. this is truly a top-tier drama!!!1. when Vincenzo figured that he needed to work alongside the lawyer ahjussi to win back the building from the gangster company, and ahjussi let him in. also, he found out that the ahjussi is the one who represents his mother in court (the one who abandoned him).2. when Vincenzo wanted to eat at the Italian restaurant but got chased off right away, so he had to eat at the ttobeokki restaurant but got it spilled all over his suit, lmao. and then the next morning he came back to the Italian restaurant and ordered a risotto, and then spit it out saying it sucked and tastes like baby food. he enjoys traumatizing the fake Italian chef so much lol, HAHAHAHA! i am rooting for the chef ahjussi though, his character development and 'coming out of his fake identity' are one of the things i am looking forward to the most in the show HAHAHA.3. when Kwak Dong Yeon appeared as chairman of the Babel Group but we also got to see later that he is actually only an avatar of the real gangster chairman. can't wait to see who the real chairman is, damnn.4. the zombie acting practice scene and how both the lawyer ahjussi and Vincenzo walked in and saw them doing that HAHAHA!! too fckin funny!5. when Vincenzo got the idea to hold the party so the gangsters can't demolish the building that night. i wonder what other tricks he have on the sleeve since that's only delaying it slightly, and the gangsters move very fast. and when Ha Young got attracted to him LOL no kidding, he be serving us all the brain and looks!!!!TLDR; i am really rooting for Vincenzo and all the crazy-ass tenants who refuse to move out, hahaha.
My faves of the tenants from hell are the laundry master and the Italian chef HAHAHA! They are so funny LOL.The first 10 minutes opening in Italy, damn that was remarkably badass AF. I didn't see the comedy tag before starting so it really comes as a surprise to me and i really enjoy it. The comedy didn't feel slapstick so far and i can't wait to see more of Vincenzo's chemistry and teamwork with the building tenants. The FL actually reminds me of Honey Lee from The Fiery Priest, and their characters are so similar, the greedy lawyer type. I wanna know what was her backstory that made her so greedy. Overall a very impressive first episode. SJK speaking and cursing in Italian sounds so sexc and he is fckin killing this role!!!
skipped posting reaction of many episodes before because i was busy ugly crying :((
So many things happened:1. Kang Seungjae's adoption story.2. Woo Jae family finding out the truth about Seo Yeong's father because of that b*tch Seuno.3. Them registering their divorce.4. Sang Woo and Choi Hojong. She thought after Seoyeong's divorce, her husband has no more reason to continue in the marriage with her and will get back together with Migyeong so she's been stressed about it. When he told her to go out for dinner, she thought he was gonna tell her to break up LOL. When he comforted her saying it's impossible, she cried.I love that scene a lot. You can see how dumbfounded Sang Woo was when he knew his wife was thinking that, also in disbelief that she said she was gonna make way for Migyeong again had they not been married. He was in shock at realizing how pure this girl is, and how selflessly she loves him.We don't get enough of this couple scenes after marriage and i wish we could have had more. I really want to see more of them please :((P/s Woo Jae's mother. Wow, she's fckin brilliant. She's petite but when she's furious and crushed she's scary AF. I wanna bow down for her acting LOL, truly remarkable. I don't think i have seen anyone else act at her level. SHE'S FCKIN INCREDIBLE!!!
Sang Woo and Choi Ho Jong during their honeymoon trip are so cute HAHAHA!
Woo Jae finally dropped the bomb that he wants to divorce his wife after finding out that she's been taking contraceptive pills on her own without telling him. She also told her to go to Sangwoo's wedding as Choi Hojeong's family friend and she went but she told him afterwards that she didn't go. Goshh. I didn't expect that it'd go this bad so quickly.//Also, Sangwoo and Hojeong got married. It's kinda cute that they went to ski resort and he's the one who doesn't know how to ski and keeps falling down haha. They also just slept through the night with a considerable distance on their bed LOL. She even paid for the room next door to avoid him.Gahh i get second hand embarrassment from watching their awkwardness LOL. Can't wait for their romance to slowly develop and for Sangwoo to love his wife wholeheartedly. ❤❤❤P/s the ending scene on ep. 30 was so sad. Ahjussi was looking at his daughter in law who's walked on the altar by her father, but he couldn't do it when Seoyeong got married because she lied that she's an orphan so she walked down the altar with her husband. Then she saw the bride/groom family taking photos and she broke down because she's not there, and the side by side comparison to when her own father was doing the same and peeking at them was shown. Broke my heart so much :((
can't wait for love to develop between Choi Ho Jong and Lee Sang Woo :(
Sang Woo proposed to Choi Hojong out of the blue in her car because Kang Migyeong was going to beg his father to accept her no matter what. and then he apologized because he knows he's just using her.and then when he thought about it again more rationally not out of impulse, he asked Choi Hojong again about it, if she would want to marry him.he admitted that he only asked her because it works for everyone around him and Kang Migyeong, but he knows he can't say he'll do it for Choi Hojong. but he promised that even though he doesn't love her now, he'll try his best to love her. and that he won't make her regret marrying him. he says that because he's not someone who believes love can be everything in life, whilst Choi Hojong is exactly opposite of that. probably he gets that impression after seeing how his sister abandoned her family to marry Kang Woo Jae. yet, he can appreciate the love that she's giving him because the 3 years that they were apart, she still loved him without any contact. i mean, his situation makes him feel so miserable. so even if he doesn't love Choi Hojong now, he knows that he needs her and she can at least understand him so it'll be more than enough reason to marry her.i don't know. i actually get really touched watching that scene and the dialogues he uttered. it's very risky to marry a man when his heart still belongs to someone else because he may not get over her forever. but Sang Woo is such a dependable man, that even if i am at Choi Hojong's place i think i'd absolutely take the risk of marrying such a guy.i really love this trope because there's no right answer to it. but all i know is that watching Park Hae Jin cry really breaks my heart. he's too good in it :((//also, the ending scene. Woo Jae hired an investigator and finally found out that Lee Sang Woo who's the brother of his wife is actually a surgery resident at the same hospital that Kang Migyeong works at. bammm! he connected the dots right away, nooooo. i am not fckin ready for this.
daebak. Woo Jae is smart and sharp as hell.from last episode's cliffhanger when he went over to the ahjussi to gift him a nice, padded winter jacket but found his wife's passport photo on the ahjussi's locker (he quit the job), to this episode when he finally found his house after remembering his house number. then he found out that the ahjussi's real name is not Yu Manho but Lee Samjae. also the name of his supposedly deceased father in law he prepared a memorial service for, once. and then also ended this episode with him bringing a document confirming the birth/family tree line of his wife, born to parents named Lee Samjae and Lee Eunsuk.the sheer disappointments in his eyes. not sure if he's gonna show wrath or what, i am nervous to see that OMG.also the scene when Kang Migyeong pushed Choi Hojong to fall down because she's jealous seeing them together when their breakup was so sudden/not properly explained to her. ouh how their story flipped. now Kang Migyeong comes across as the pushover LOL, and Choi Hojong now comes across the sweet, pleasant one ever since she acknowledged their love.i really wanna know what makes Sang Woo falls in love with Choi Hojong at the end, uwuuu~
