Never Thought I'd See a Potato Cry
Never have I ever had the urge to punch a crying person in the mouth. Nah, Aoey is now challenging for the most punch worthy bl character ever. His crying face just vex me. How you gon' look like a boiled potato and a fish at the same time while crying? Arrggg, I couldn't stand him for one second. And the Dafug was up with that ending? My arse expecting to see the aftermath of the twitter trends, what became of that annoying crying potato. Instead they spend it with ridiculous jabs. I did not laugh once, not even putting Gene in that snow white outfit and having him look like a blowfish got me to laugh. And to think they made me relive Until We Meet Again!!
I wanted to see if the public accepted them or they are still split. If they found out about Aoey being buttshit crazy. If he grew old and alone like he deserves. If Hin's book became popular, so he can finally shut up about being poor while living in an apartment with a view. Instead the director used the screen time to show us that one random woman. (It occurs to me she's might be the author of the novel this is based on) but so what? I wanted a satisfying ending not whatever the eff that was.
And LOL, why was their family in front of the TV watching that press conference holding hands, and acting like they were watching a competition show and waiting for the host to announce the winner? Like, peoples, breathe, you already know the answer to whether they were dating or not.
Up until the last 10 or so minutes, I was vibing with this show. But I felt so dissatisfied and disappointed with the ending. Yes, the leads got back together, sure, cute, good for them, love wins, unicorns. But what was the aftermath? Arrggg, I hate when I watch a show and the ending disappoints me. After Game of Thrones, I told myself to read reviews before starting any show, but I rushed into this one because of UP, and now here we are. Somehow, I blame this on Ming.
I wanted to write a full review and just rant about Aoey and how he deserves to be punch in the throat, but after that ending, I can't even be bothered. This show has wasted enough of my time, not going to give it more.
Anyway, I'll recommend it, it's a good watch, but personally, the ending did not deliver.

This Is My Roman Empire
What in the Wangxian, ao3 tags #soulmates #hurtnocomfort fanfic is this??? And why is it bloody awesome!?! I love it, please give me more! This drama is like when you enter a random restaurant and order the first thing you can pronounce but when it comes it's like a five-course meal, tastes like happiness with a side of chocolate fountain and have a live performance by Adele, all for the price of €6.99.That being said, after episode 3-4, Inn and Pun better not be playing with my emotions. That reality of them being actors better be another reality within the reality, cuz I can't do this no more. These last 2 episodes better be ending in fluffy clouds and candies or it's on sight! imma find a way to reach into that screen and slap them with a rubber chicken if they hurt me like X and Namping. Pun out there talking about, let's break up. Child if you don't get back together right now! Yeah, I'm calm. I'm super calm.
Anyway, Listen, what I am trying to say is that this drama is really great. And you should be watching it like yesterday. I love the premise so much. Not gonna lie, we still have two episodes to go, and I think it's gonna be my most favourite drama this year. I might just be that one person and try to sneak it into every conversation I have from now on.
Random waiter: Excuse me, are you ready to order? I recommend the chicken and peas.
Me: So Namping left, right? And X waited and fixed the car but then... no, you don't know them, but you should. But then... and the box had photos and his videos. He filmed a farewell... *starts crying*
Random person at the next table: See Sharon, I told you we should stay home and ordered pizza, outside people are crazy.
Me: *still sobbing* I'm not crazy, my mom had me tested. Nampingggggg, why? why you do that to meee!
Random person at the next table: I hate you Sharon.
No but, the funny thing is, I went into this series without even reading the summary. I had no idea what the hell it was about, other than I added it from one of those lists of upcoming bls on a random Tuesday. But yeah, I clicked on the first episode and fell in love with the leads and the concept so much, I legit stalked the actors socials after the 4th episodes just to make sure Top and Mick are okay, cuz that episode broke me. Then the audacity of those two dancing and smiling on tiktok while my heart was broken. They lucky I couldn't reach into the phone screen and slap them with a rubber chicken for making us cry buckets.
Anyway, here is my review of every story arc and my ratings.
DOL & SUN: (ep1) -- 8.5/10
This episode with people seeing colour for the first time when they meet their soulmates in the rain, reminded me sooo much of a Wangxian soulmates fanfic I read once on ao3. Sidenote: Anyone else keep rewatching untamed and reading the novel? Literally, why can't I move on from Wangxian? It's been years. Anyway, the carrot washing...wait, wrong episode. I meant colours. So, this episode was straight out of a fanfic, and I loved it.
At first I was like, Dol, stop playing hard to get, look at how adorable Sun looks in that helmet. And then that loser ex-boyfriend showed up, and I felt so sad for Sun, who has been hurt and lied to, and still had to endure physical abuse from that mouth breather. So when Dol showed up, I clapped. The plot of this one was straight forward, Dol had problem opening up cuz of his childhood and Sun was naive believing in soulmates. Thankfully, they figured it out in the end.
My fav part with Dol and Sun was when Sun showed up at his work to celebrate Dol's birthday when everyone seemed to have forgotten. I knew then and there they were gonna end up together. It was like that part in a fanfic when the writer leaves a note like... sorry, my cat is in therapy so no updates this week, but next week is gonna be #fluffy #weiwuxiangetsahappyending.
Anyway, as the opening to the series, it did a good job keeping my attention. They had that one episode to tell a story that felt complete and they did it so well. Mick and Top were great leads, and they made me fell in love with the characters, and the drama immediately.
PRIN & FRIST: (ep2) -- 9/10
Imagine my surprise when this episode started and they seemed to have switch things up, and now Prin is rich, the boss, looks like a prince from one of those disney movies and First is a clumsy adorable secretary. I was like... wow, why you two such good actors, making me believe this is a completely different drama. No, but someone give Mick and Top their flowers!
Prin and First story was so simply. It was as easy as breathing, At first I was I was sad First was hiding the deal with the grandma, and thought it was gonna create a nonsense misunderstanding that would make them fell apart, but then Prin was so far gone, he didn't even care when he found out. I also love how the grandma wanted Prin to find someone and legit didn't care who it was. I was so happy it was only 1 episode, cuz imagine the nonsense episode 11 we'd have gotten, making us cry.
First was so cute in this one, with his pen and notebook being all adorable and quietly quitting cause he couldn't find anyone for Prin, and the whole time, I'm like... it's you. Come on brother, take a hint! The ending of course was so cute and fluffy and I was like... awww this drama is going to be all cute and lovey dovey for 8 episodes. Good, I need some fluffy Sunday dramas. BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. I WAS SOOO WRONG.
X & NAMPING: (ep3-4) -- 9.5/10 -- disclaimer (Pain level 100000000^2)
This arc sucks. It should be burn with fire. Matter of fact, throw the whole thing into the pits of hell. Dafug you mean he didn't show up the next year right when X finally brave up and got to know him?? TEARRRRSSSSSSS. And to think X wasted all those years not talking to Namping, and instead pretending to visit a random arse ghost he didn't even know. His ancestors must be proud. If only he'd had the courage to make a move faster. If only.
It's my fault, already in episode 3, I was like: hmmm is he sick? why is he dropping stuff? But then X lifted him from the shattered glass like he was the most precious element in the world, and I immediately went, 'naaah, he's fine. Look at them, adorable.' So yeah, should have seen it coming, but I was too busy going 'awwww' like an idoit.
Personally, I don't really remember the side couple in this one, did they end up together? I started sniffing when Namping broke down crying when they were about to do the devil's tango. Then, my eyes watered when X woke up and Namping was gone. And when Namping started crying without picking up X's calls, I went... no, bish no, don't do this to me. THEN... THEN... he didn't even get to see that the car was fixed. X breaking down was a process, from his realisation to full on sobbing was.... Me sitting in front of my TV on a Sunday evening sobbing was not in my plans, but that Sunday ended with me going to bed sad. I was sad about this until like the next week when I saw a behind the scene and Namping(Top) was there during that sobbing scene and went to comfort X(Mick).
Okay, but... NAMPING is the most graceful, angelic, cloud, fluffy, beautiful character ever! No, really how did Top managed to look so cloudy with a chance of angel like that? Like, even when he was sitting on that luggage he looked like angel or some heavenly person that shouldn't even be disturbed. It felt like it was even a sin to just touch him, cuz he came off so pure. Namping is the definition of clouds and desserts. He deserved all the princess treatment he got and more. And when they were in the river, literally those two have great chemistry, and their combined beauty seemed almost unreal.
Then of course there was X in those mechanic overalls, looking like whoever invented the word 'damn!' saw his picture at a museum one time. Like, he went from being soo clumsily cute in the last arc as First, then suddenly he was walking around like a tasty offering making those ghost brush. I'm still in awe at how amazing those two are able to switch roles so seamlessly.
I think this arc, although it hurt like a motherfather was my fav, cuz it forced me to feel, and it stayed with me for a while when it was completed. It's what a good story should do. And as always Mick and Top were amazing in their roles.
SIAN & BLUE: (ep5-6) 9/10
Now, how in the world did Namping go from being an angelic being to being a little gremlin? No, he was such a mood. When he kept sending Blue off to look for him, then he'd reopen the door looking like a beef cake, distracting the poor guy, I couldn't stop laughing. He was a little sh!t and I loved him so much.
This time it was Blue who was the cute, adorable one, painting and cooking, and just being the best brother ever to Green, while also thirsting after Sian and his hair and inability to put on a shirt. That fixing the pipe scene where he was just outside the window having an impromptu shower, while Blue tried to remember how to breathe was pure gold.
This was also a relax episode, even though there was some depth with how Sian seemed to have lost his passion with the lost of his ex, and Blue having wronged a friend. My fav part is how Blue, Sian and Green formed their own little family. And when he sang the song (Every Tears) he wrote and all their past lives was playing. TEARS. I'm gonna miss their arc so much.
Also, why the hell he always have some ex-boyfriend? Like, that dude just can't wait until his soulmate finds him? Not gonna lie, up until now, I have no idea what happened to that boy Sian wanted to marry, did he go out and never come back, or did he die? Felt like he went out to get eggs one morning and then dipped. Oh well, Blue got to see that water scene out the window, so a win is a win. Oh and, washing my carrots is gonna be interesting from now onwards.
INN & PUN: (ep2, 4, 6...)
When these two first showed up in ep2, I was like: whomst? where are we? then the second time, I was like: ooh, so they are actors, and the arcs we are seeing are their series as partners, so no soulmates? Alright, cool cool, what a twist, but I get it, I love it, I'm here for it. When Inn asked Pun to be his boyfriend after Namping and X destroyed us, I was very happy, and went... okay, we good, no matter how the stories they are acting in hurts me, I know they are together behind the scenes and that's all that matters.
So tell me, why right after Sian and Blue got their happy ending, those two out there talking about they've been on and off and now they've definitely broken up cuz they can't change for each other? Bish then don't change? I swear if they break my heart like X and Namping, I'm gonna sue for emotional damages. After episode 3-4, I can't do the weeping alone in my house thing anymore. It's starting to feel sad and frankly, a little bit pathetic.
These two are my parents. I thought no matter what happens in the project they act in, they would be together forever behind the scenes, so then I won't be sad, so the dafug you mean you've broken up, and it's even effecting your work? They better not play with me these last two episodes cuz... they better not.
OVERALL:
Yes, everything wasn't flawless, because they had limited time, some things were not expanded on, or were vague, or felt rushed. But, we had enough to make every arc feel complete and keep our interest. The production team on this did a really good job, and I'm sad we get only 8 episodes. It's not enough, this deserves like 5 seasons and a reunion season in 2030. Usually, I rant and nitpick, but I simply enjoyed this drama way too much, so imma such let all that slide. The stories we got were great, the characters great, and the chemistry was chemistrying. Mick and Top were really versatile and such greats actors. They made each new character their own, and completely made me immersed in them, without even comparing the good characters. Where do they live? Imma use my last couple of dollars to send them flowers, and an angry note for making me cry in episode 4.
One thing I also liked was that, normally there's a clear top and bottom, but it took me until episode 3 to realise they are switching in this, and it was amazing, cuz it gave the actors room to be versatile and portray different characters with different set of emotions and actions
I can't wait for the last two episodes, but also, I'm gonna be soo sad when this ends. 8 episodes for such a great story is a crime.

Why Are U Gay? Who Says I'm Gay?... You Are Gay.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO000. Dafug you mean this isn't a BL? All that tension is wasted on a bromance? Look, being friends is nice, best-friends even nicer, but these two talks/look at each other like they wanna declare their undying love. Personally, I think they should kiss each others faces and get married... cuz that tension/chemistry/dialogue is not of the only friends nature at all! Also, half of this cast should have died halfway through episode 1, in a coma or hospitalised from all that beatings and fighting.Saint: The most important thing that I'm giving up is not school, it's you, Shin. I'm giving up on the chance to be with you.
Me: OMG, this a BL.
Director: No... it's a bromace.
Shin: You say, you're giving up what's important, and that means you're giving up on me. But you know what? You gave up on me a long time ago. Three years ago when you broke my leg. So, you don't get to leave me behind again.
Me: *in tears* Seeee, it talks like a bl, acts like a bl, it's a bl. They are in love.
Writers: No, it's a bromance. brooo-mance.
Me: Psst, okay, Sharon. I believe you.
Listen, this show is a BL. Literally every episode Saint's like 'I want you back, I love you, please be with me forever' then Shin will look at him with those longing eyes and they'd stare real hard into each other's eyes. Literally, why is this a bromance? In what world is all that tension bromance? Nothing about Saint and Shin screams bromance. Those two are in love, I know, they told me. XD
First off, are those teachers at that school even qualified to take care of the children? It seems like no one knows what they are doing. The students just walks all over them, disrespecting them, hitting them, straight up treating them like trash. Literally, why are these children still in school?
Anyway, I am enjoying this show, a lot. The whole mystery regarding what Saint did to Shin to make him hate him so much, kept my interest. But oh boy, I was ready to pull my hair, because 6 episodes in and Shin is still going on and on, and on about how dirty Saint did him. You ruined my life. I will never forgive you. I will beat you up. And I'm like sure, he's the scum of the Earth, now tell me what he DID. Damn! Boy was so vague about what happened it got annoying. Cuz, my arse is nosy and I wanted to know what he did so I can judge and hate him too, but they kept dragging it. Literally, that plot device was like that one friend who always have sh!t to share but never does like:
That One Friend: You won't believe what happened to me today. I'm telling you, when the Pope finally left, the police had to fly the rest of us home on a helicopter. In the end, the president and his details had to sleepover at my house.
ME: OMG??? What the hell happened??
That One Friend: It's nothing really. I don't wanna talk about it.
ME: That's why no one like you, Sharon.
No, but, I am so glad, they finally told us what he did. And when I heard how Saint ruined Shin's dream by beaten him the hell up, then disappearing on him after breaking his leg, I was like... Never forgive him. As a matter of fact, beat him some more, cuz... what?? And knowing he did that because he probably didn't want his 'friend' to leave him is even worse! Nah, but Saint did him sooo bad. Learning that and seeing how Shin still didn't seem to truly hate him made me feel even more bad for him.
Yes, Saint deserved all the hate he's been getting from Shin. Hell, he deserves more than that, and sure he's trying and he's been working on being a better person, but damnnnn. That being said, I'm sort of glad Shin is starting to forgive him. He does deserves to be forgotten, he was young and stupid, but I still feel so bad for Shin.
My main issue with this drama is the violence. Like, what school would allow all that to happen and not expel those students? They are so violent and mean, then, they return to school the next day like nothing happened. Some of these people should be in a coma, have major injury or like dead dead. Literally, after all the beaten Shin got, he showed up to school like it was nothing. That boy should have been in a coma or an obituary page.
PLOT: the story is interesting, though there's so many gang stuff and nonsense fighting violence going on it drags. The bad guys are so generic it hurts. That one school bully is so bleh, and the two people following him ain't any interesting either. That being said, it took be a while to notice they were twins and not the same person doing both part. My bad. I'm looking forward to see how everything is gonna to come together, with the gangs, the students, the teachers and the leads.
Characters: So far, my fav is Chatjen. I just love Mark. The leads are a close second, cuz I like the tension between them, the push and pull and how each makes me understand the characters they are playing. As for the bad guys, they don't seem anything special, and don't have any depth. That shady teacher, being a bully was a surprise to no one, and that one female teacher is trying, but the poor woman is just sad. Hopefully, we get more from the others like we are seeing with Cable in the remaining episodes.
All in all, I am looking forward to the rest, as I'm enjoying myself a lot. I still don't buy this being a bromance though, cuz, literally, that makes no sense.

Bow down to Her Majesty.
A motherless girl is about to go from being an escaped slave, to a gang leader, to a concubine, to the empress of Imperial China. And under her reign, her enemies will tremble before her.I love this drama. It’s a masterpiece, and one of a few dramas I can truly say this about. From the breathtaking cinematography to the amazing script, everything about this incredible drama was perfectly done to make those 51 episodes run by way too quickly.
Ji Chang Wook’s character was the reason why I fell in love with this drama. This was what I knew, it’s what I believed, but as I sat down to write this review, I realised that it wasn’t the emperor, but rather the empress that made me fall in love with this drama, and so, I’ll focus on her for my review. Starting with her bravery.
Life threw lemons at this woman, and she not only made lemonade, she sowed the seeds and grew a whole damn lemon farm. As a little girl, when Seung-Nyang lost her mother while escaping from being offered as concubines, she didn’t give up. She fought for her right to remain alive in a country that didn’t seems to care much for her right to stay alive. And she did, because in the process, she became the leader of a surviving gang, and it was through it, that her destiny truly begun.
Empress Ki did not allow her pain and suffering define her. Throughout this drama, Ki went through a lot. From losing her mother, thinking she lost her child, losing her country, the love of her life, then losing her child just when she found him, and losing her second love. Seung-Nyang could have been a character that at some point would have just given up, but she didn’t, she fought through all these and more, and came out on top. I love how she handled her pain, as if to scream: no you don’t define me, no, I won’t let you win today.
I love how strong she was in every scene whenever she was faced with moments that will make everyone break down and cry or give up. One of these moment was when she found out about her dear son, but decided anyway to do whatever she could to get him to get away from the life she was forced to live. I was very angry at those scenes, after what both her and the crown prince decided to do after they found out that their son was alive. But, I understood her, it was the only way she could save him, and seeing her cover her pain to do the right thing, made me love her. Of course, the outcome of her decision, is another discussion for other time.
She made her enemies fear and remember her name: She never gave in to the court bullying her, she played her cards right, and showed them, through shear tactics that she’s a force to regaining with, and under her reign, they all learned to fear and respect her.
Romance:
When the relationship between the crowned prince and Seung-Nyang begun, I was super against it, because I wanted her to be with the scared little emperor who had no one in his corner. But I was grateful for it because it made the drama a lot more intense and which, to be honest, made it more interesting. Yes, I hated the triangle, but it was very entertaining and added to the plot. That being said, when it comes down to it:
The Emperor didn't win Empress Ki's heart, he earned it! As for Seung-Nyang, she didn’t win the king’s heart, she conquered it, and with it, his country. It wasn’t a moment, it wasn’t a favour, it wasn’t even in the way she saved him, it was a thousand moments that added up to one, to make Empress Ki return our dear emperor’s love. Poor guy. Yes, my favourite part of the romantic plot was how the emperor had to earned Ki’s love. I love how she never gave in, even when he tried everything and loved her with all his heart.
Did the slow burn annoyed me at some point? Very, very, but thinking about it now, I love how she never gave into him because of his position, and fought until her heart was ready to accept him, and she herself knew he finally deserved her love. This in itself made their love story one of the most romantic plot I'd seen in one of these dramas. Annoying as eff, but realistic and romantic nonetheless.
Other Characters.
Empress Ki is only but one of the characters I loved in this drama. Tal Tal was the next one and both of them added so much to this drama but as I said, I thought I'd focus on this brave woman instead, as it was because of her that this drama has now become one of my all time favourites, which I'll definitely be rewatching.
The side characters all played their parts well, and made sacrifices that left me broken, and respecting their characters more. The bad guys annoyed the heck out of me, as they should. Jesus I was this close to throwing my shoe at their friend turned traitor. Yeah, that guy. Getting stoned to death was merciful. However, I got where he was coming from, and him having depth as a character was one of the reason why this drama had some of the best character development out there.
Now Ta Hwan:
There is nothing wrong with being hopelessly in-love, but it’s a crime to be a desperate dumbass in love. Yes, Ji Chang Wook is a blessing sent from the heavens, and everything he does is GREAT by default. He’s so great if I were him, I’ll wake up every morning like: I'm so perfect it hurts.
Like most of you, I love him! I’ve been an obsessed and loyal stalker since forever. Therefore, I’ve made a vow, to never criticise anything he does. Which is why, I’ll never admit that, I fell asleep, like 10mins into into Healer, and I will die denying this truth before I tell anyone that I gave that Melting My Stuff? drama half episode and gave up, cuz, Ji Chang can do no wrong. Well, even if he does, I won’t talk about it. Just like I won’t talk about that ridiculous wig they put on Lee Min Ho in Boys Over Flowers. Yes, I will never criticize anything he does, but I’m a nitpicking SOB, and if I had to sit through 51 episodes of Empress Ki with the character he played constantly being a punchable son of a beach, you can bet your arse I’ll rant about it.
Ta Hwan as an emperor was hopelessly, useless. He was the epitome of collateral damage. Not only was he a dumbass, he was also a liability to everyone around him, and it bugged me to no end how utterly weak he was as an ruler! He was constantly being saved or being scared. Sometimes he was both at the same time, which was unfortunate.
I waited so many times for him to get off this royal arse and do something for himself... and I’m still waiting. There were moments where I thought his hopelessness was an act, but boy was I wrong! What made me what to slap him was how he was happy being emperor only by name. Ki offered to teach and help him take back his nation, and he whines about how vengeance was a big no-no and he wanted to run away with her to la la land.
Me:
“Dude, surely you wanna... like, hmm... I don’t know, take revenge on the people who:
• Forbid you from learning.
• Exiled you to another country.
• Tried to kill you like a gazillion time.
• Forced you to marry his evil daughter.
• Humiliated you in front of your servants.
• Made you a puppet, and stole your crown
• Oh, and killed your father.?”
Ta Hwan:
“Nope. I just wanna run away with Seung Nyang and chase rainbows and ride unicorns.“
Me: *Grabs my rubber chicken*
As a character, all he had going for him was that he loved Ki. Other than that, he was just there for people to plan their evil plans around. He never stood up for himself, he was useless, a drunk and a sad excuse for a ruler. While everyone was busy trying to keep him alive, he was busy being a jealous lovesick fool.
Yes, I felt for him. He’s my favourite character in Empress Ki, second only to Tal Tal. Because of the emperor, I hated Wang Yoo for no effing reason, but even so, I have to admit that he was so weak and useless as a character I wanted to slap him 99.9% of the time. The only time I didn’t want to slap him was when he up and died and made me cry buckets like: God, I want a donut. He changed a little towards the ending, but never really lived up to his potential, which was sad for an emperor who held two nations in the palm of his hand.
Anyway, I won't even mention that second lead, nope. Overall, I love this drama, of course there were things I wasn’t so keen on, but none of them outweighed my love for it. And at the end of the day, when all’s said and done, it's one of the best k-dramas out there, and I highly recommend it to everyone and their mama.

First Impressions AND Booty Call Appointments
AHHHH, I am losing my mind!!! Someone needs to slap Pat with a rubber chicken, cuz... Pat, son of Adam, please, quit!! My blood pressure is on the roof! Pat is soo pathetic. And Elyes is an asshole with a capital jerk! He's the kind of character you wanna shove down a long cliff, then throw a bulldozer over just to be sure. Yes, we all knew he was going to be an awful bad guy, but damn Susan, did he have to be so good at it? He straight up sucks!! He's getting to me, and I'm lowkey starting to have beef with fictional characters. #sendhelpI don't even blame Elyes for how pathetic Pat is, cuz homeboy should have known better, he's literally the one in charge of Elyes' eff-buddy list. Falling in love with a guy who actively hurts you to teach you a lesson cuz he sorts of cares---miss me with that BS!
2 episodes in, and Elyes have:
1) Double booked a booty call. Homeboy has a schedule where he appoints his booty calls!! Nah ah, it could never be me! Come try that in my backyard, child, see what happens ho! I dare you.
2) Made Patt filled in for a date so he could get with another booty call instead. The angry girl threw water on Pat for his troubles, while Elyes was having a good time against some wall.
3) Made Pat buy a birthday gift for his booty call, just to hurt him. He was like, 'you know what he likes, get to it.'
4) Humiliated Pat by letting him serve him and yet another booty call as their waiter.
5) Forbad him from quitting, or being friendly with people he dislikes.
And after all that, all THAT, Elyes still loves him with a capital stupid, and let him kiss him. Child of Adam, why? Why yous so stupid?? Pat deserves no right. Do you enjoy getting hurt?? QUIT, child, QUIT! Listen, I love drama, and stupid arse characters with no self respect makes me love myself more, but this is just sad. We are only two episodes in and I can't stand both leads.
Anyway, *shaking my head* in shame at Pat while eating my popcorn, and waiting for the next episodes.
Episode 1 review:
What was that random arse time jump after all the close up shots? How many close up of his effing shoes did we need to see? The camera work was just weird and all over the place. Also that boss dude seemed more like that one person who stands and open the door at a fancy/important person's home than an actual boss. I swear, they'd let anyone in a suit and a watch be a boss these days. And what the eff does the company even do? what they selling? contracts?
And did Pat help him build an empire in five years only to remain an assistant, a booty call, and the designated driver while he's out effing everyone and their mamas? No, Pat is sad to look at, he's so pathetic he's pitiful. Elyes even made him a stand in for his dates. And he has to wait in the car while he's out ho-ing? Plus, after all that he have genuine feelings for Elyes? Like, why? Literally, why you gonna fell for someone who treats you with less respect than dirt? Sure, there was a scene where Pat said he didn't mind the ho-ing and felt nothing about it, but dude, you have a random else photo with you in the corner in a frame, on your bed-stand, probably taken off the internet, come on son, have some shame! Self respect Susan, do you have any?
And the sad truth is, it's not that Elyes doesn't see that what he does hurt Pat, he does, and even knew when he was mad at him. And it also seems he have some left-over, inner struggle, perhaps misguided feelings for Pat as well, cuz he doesn't even want him to quit. But bish, after 5 years together, working so close with you, many late night dinners, if you don't know I'm allergic to seafood, imma riot.
Also, the story I wanted to see is how Elyes went from complaining about Pat being 10 seconds late, and ready to call HR on him, to him being under him on his bed. Suddenly Elyes doesn't look or sound repulsed to be breathing the same as Pat and they are eff-buddies-by-appointment. I hope we get a flashback to how it all started, it would be nice. That time jump literally after 1 scene was rubbish. The director and editors might have thought they ate with that, but my arse was staring like... pack it up and bring it back Sharon, you've done nothing impressive enough to time jump.
That being said. I AM GOING TO ENJOY THIS SHOW sooo verrry much. We have a pathetic lead with zero percent self-respect, who is going to make me yell at my screen at how much I wanna slap him with a rubber chicken. I'm gonna enjoy all the hurt, the nonsense, me rolling my eyes and shaking my head, all the cringe dialogue, stupid romantic gestures and judge him through my screen. Is it going to be cringy, awkward and super nonsense, probably, but we love drama and red flags in this house, so sign me the eff up, I am seated for this show!! I'm lowkey holding my breath that it ends up surprising me and be good drama.
I am looking forward to learning more about the characters and to see how they develop, hopefully. I hope we get to see flashbacks of how these whole thing started, and learn just what this company does. I'm also looking forward to how these two would find common ground and end up together, cuz obviously, they're probably gonna end up together, and Pat is going to pretend Elyes isn't a man-ho who treated him like used slippers. And of course the what-the-eff-is-even-going-on drama that's to come. Ooof, I can't wait!
Anyway, if you're looking for some dramatic arse show that's probably gonna make you want to reach into the screen and slap yourself a lead, then this show is for you. Grab some popcorn cuz we've got a red flag and a lead who is colorblind by choice, it can only be a fun ride from here.
AN: This is NOT my final rating or review, just my first impression, I'll return to do a full review after the final episode. Anyway, we are starting with 7 stars and neutral ratings, then we'd see whether we go up or down from here.
