Lighthearted yet hard-punching comedy
This is a nice and simple romantic comedy. It’s lighthearted and funny (even a bit silly at times). I liked the angle of the fathers setting up their kids so they could meet naturally and not by forcing a marriage onto them (which is actually the aim). That was refreshing.Character wise:
FL is a smart and intelligent woman who grew up knowing her father would have liked her to be a boy. She is the sole heir of the family business.
ML is a smart, rough and temperamental young man who is the son of the current CEO in the family business but not the sole heir.
Acting wise this is pretty good and the main actors do a good job even if the story has a more comical aspect that doesn’t leave them that much room to shine.
Anyway, if you are into something light, funny and a little romantic, this is a nice watch.

Sweet and adorable no-brainer movie
This is a sweet and adorable movie. Even if there isn’t really anything new or different storyline and it is kind of similar to so many other same-themed movies/shows, it is entertaining and easy to watch-Character wise:
FL is the usual sweet and airheaded woman who is indebted to ML because of certain circumstances.
ML is the usual cold and shrewd CEO who inserts himself in FLs life because she is different from other women he knows.
Acting wise this isn’t exactly top shelf but I guess the actors were directed to act their characters so they appear a little silly, especially FL and her bestie. That is often the case when they want to make a lighthearted movie/show.
Well, if you are looking for something short, sweet and angst-free, this is actually worth watching.

Nice low budget mini-show
This is a nice low budget mini-show. The storyline is interesting in there being a kid involved. Other than that, it’s quite cliché.Character wise:
FL is somehow framed into spending the night with ML, resulting in a kid. She is a kind and sweet woman. ML is a cold CEO who ends up spending the night with FL even if he doesn’t want to. Seeing he has a child, he wants to spend time with him and thereby reconnects with FL. And so the story begins.
Acting wise this might not be top notch but it isn’t anywhere near bad. The actors do a good job within the limited timeframe.
Well, if you look for something simple and sweet, this is actually worth watching.

Nice but draggy dance-themed love story
This is an ok movie. The storyline is simple and revolves around a young man who falls in love with the dance instructor his female friend uses. The pace of the story is rather slow which makes it feel a bit draggy.Character wise ML is carefree and outgoing. FL is a sweet girl who loves to dance.
Acting wise this is only mediocre. It doesn’t ruin anything but it goes to show that the movie is kind of low-budget.
So, if you have some time to spare and want a simple and sweet romantic movie, this is an ok watch.

Rushed fantasy movie with a hint of romance
This is an ok movie. The storyline is quite simple.Character wise we have an immortal (ML) who is suspected of stealing the Magic Lotus Lantern when in fact he was trying to prevent an intruder in doing so. He then throws himself into reincarnation in the mortal world in order to get the lantern back. Here he meets and falls in love with FL who is a strong woman with superior martial art skills.
Acting wise this is not top notch. Focus is on telling the story but they are trying to put in more than there is time for, so it feels rushed.
Anyway, if you like the fantasy genre, this is an ok watch - just don’t expect too much from the romance.

Mini-show with food for thoughts
This is actually a great mini-show. The storyline revolves around a FL who is stuck in a time-loop. In order to break the loop, she ends up repeating the day a lot of times - each time changing her actions a little.It’s funny to see how FL spends her time-loops (wooing ML whom she falls in love with in one of the first resets) while the other person (2ML) also stuck in this time-loop uses it in a whole different way.
Things get better and better - and more complicated - as 2ML starts to help FL. I think they try just about every possible storyline available, LOL. Sometimes it’s downright hilarious.
Well, if you like a mini-show that gives you food for thoughts, this is definitely well worth watching.

Surprisingly good mini-show with an refreshing storyline
This is a surprisingly good mini-show. The storyline is kind of refreshing and rather entertaining. Even if it is a mini-show it doesn’t feel rushed and there are no inconsistencies or jumps in the story - only a few things left unexplained.Character wise we have this FL who is stuck in a time-loop trying to avoid a fire that wipes out her puppet-troupe. Then we have ML who is actually the author who has created the book that both of them are in. The two of them have to work together in order to revive the puppet-troupe, investigate who caused the fire and in doing that, make it possible for ML to return to real life.
Acting wise these are some really good and experienced actors even if they are challenged a bit because of the short format. That causes the character to feel somewhat shallow. And in terms of chemistry between the leads, there is room for improvement as one could say. Not that it ruins the show but it affects the overall rating.
Anyway, if you like something fast with a mystery theme, this is actually well worth watching.

Mummy movie with untapped potential
When I saw the low rating I thought it couldn’t be that bad - sadly it was. The storyline seemed interesting. Kind of like “The Mummy” in a Chinese version and a little different backstory. As a story there wasn’t anything wrong but the quality of the movie was just too bad. Especially the end scene makes no sense when this is supposed to be a love across time.Character wise there were these mainly three people. A FL who back in ancient time was in love with an ancestor of ML. Then we have 2ML who was the son of a man who forced FL and ML to separate so he could marry FL himself. Due to a curse, FL kills 2ML by mistake and is buried in a tomb with 2ML. They come back to life 2.000 years later and FL meets ML.
Acting wise this is really not top shelf and since the actors are rather experienced it must be the directing that causes the movie to look like it’s low budget (maybe it is?). What a pity.
Anyway, if you like a mummy-movie that is not so scary - and don’t mind the low quality - this is an ok watch but nothing more.

Seriously, find something else to pass the time
This is a strange movie. The storyline is quite straightforward and easy to follow but there are so many things being told instead of shown - and the unrealistic love story strikes like lightning from a clear sky.Character wise: FL is way too childish, ridiculously stubborn, dumb as a doornail and dressed more for a party than work (except when she is at the bar of course). ML is fierce and dominating but intelligent.
Acting wise this is not even near the top shelf but it isn’t bad either.
I saw this review on YouTube that was spot on, “So this whole drama is about 2 idiots that should have stayed home and would not have died .. Causing all this grief.. And the other 2 falling in love is so ridiculously absurd that…well it passed the time..”
So, if you have an hour or so to waste, this is ok - but seriously, find something else to pass the time.

Even more funny and interesting season of this different mini-show
Where season 1 was very simple in terms of story, this second season is more developed and thereby more interesting as FL tries to navigate her way out of the arranged marriage and forms an alliance with the King she sold to the brothel in season 1. According to the summary (and title) she is supposed to have a love story with that king, but to be honest I really can’t see that - even if he seems interested.Since it ends without any conclusion, I think we must expect to have at least a season 3 coming. I am definitely going to watch that.
So, if you enjoyed season 1, this is well worth watching.

Different mini-show that will make you laugh.
This is such a funny mini-show. The concept of a person traveling into historical times isn’t new på the take on this story is different.Character wise: FL a strong and independent modern woman. When she takes the body of a silly princess about to marry (alliance) a prince of another country she handles things as she would in her normal environment. The scene where she sells the King of a third country to a brothel is downright hilarious. The fun continues when she enters the palace and has a run in with the emperor/king of the country which she is supposed to marry into.
Acting wise this is not that impressive but it’s not bad enough to ruin anything.
As usual the short format does affect the quality of the show. It could have been great if the episodes had been like 5 or 10 minutes. It feels a bit underdeveloped.
Anyway, if you like a different and very funny mini-show, this is well worth watching.

It’s a dirty (business) world
This is a nice mini-show. The storyline revolves around a woman that is interesting to 3 very different businessmen since she is a key to great wealth. She falls in love with one of them. In that sense there is nothing new about it but it’s still interesting enough.FL is rather weak which is no surprise since she doesn’t know much about her past and has always been treated badly in the family. ML is a bit of a mystery. The other two men are more transparent.
Acting wise this is not top shelf but most of the cast is good. Especially the actor playing “Yu Li Shen” makes shivers run down my spine which is not possible unless he is a good actor.
Since the ending is kind of open, I will keep my eye out for a possible new season.
Well, if you like a mini-show that’s not inventing new things but can keep your boredom away for an hour or so, this is an ok watch.

Nice cliché mini-show with nothing new under the sun
This is a nice mini-show. The storyline is very cliché and nothing new really happens, but because of this short format it’s entertaining enough if you have some time to waste.Story wise: Sadly, there are so many scenes missing that you tend to lose valuable information. For example, when both Jiang Rui Chen and her father are hospitalized FL doesn't seem to visit either of them. Maybe she actually does - but it is not shown other than her running after receiving a call leaving her phone behind.
Character wise: Since it’s so short the characters are mostly shallow. Only thing I kept thinking was that FLs sister is so white in the face that she could light up a dark room, LOL.
Acting wise: Except for a few good actors/actresses this is mediocre and even a little bad with overacting and cringy behavior. Not enough to ruin the show but it’s a pain to watch.
Anyway, if you have some time to waste and like these kinds of stories, it’s an ok watch.

War-movie with sligt romance
This is an ok movie. The storyline isn’t exactly new but it is somewhat entertaining.Character wise we have these two generals (one of them is also a princess) of opposing armies that are strong and good at military strategies. One day the princess takes the general as a hostage in order to stop the killing of soldiers on both sides. They end up falling in love and decide to work together towards a peaceful future for both their countries.
Acting wise this is sadly only mediocre. Perhaps because a lot of money was put into costumes and fight-scenes. The acting on most parts is stiff and it’s hard to get a feel of the chemistry between the leads. It’s not bad enough to ruin the show but it could have been much better if the viewers had a chance to get invested in the story.
Anyway, if you have some time to waste and like a movie that’s mostly action and a bit romance, this is an ok watch.

I haven't had such a laugh in a while.
This is such a sweet and funny mini-show with a dash of drama. The storyline is somewhat similar to season 1 but otherwise this is a new story with other issues and not a sequel.ML is so handsome and adorable. It is really nice to see Lin Feng Song in the main role since he most of the time plays a supporting role. I hope he gets more main roles in the future because he is a great actor.
FL is cute but a bit too silly for me - at least in the first half. Not that it ruins the show but I am kind of bored with these socalled innocent, dumb and cute FLs. What’s wrong with a more “normal” FL? Sissi Bao Chen Xi does a good job but is directed to be too perky.
MLs assistant “Chu He” is hilarious. Thinking he is a good matchmaker but keeps interrupting them, LOL.
Anyway, if you want something funny, sweet and entertaining, this is well worth watching.
