wow, WOMEN!!!
THIS WAS SO CUTE!! I'm not gonna lie, I have a particular bias for this series because NigeHaji is literally my favorite J-drama, so even from the very beginning, I already knew I would love this one. There were a lot of things about this drama that I really enjoyed, and one is the breaking of stereotypical female roles in such romcom. I absolutely love how all the female character were strong and unique in their own ways. Jiho was very transparent and straight to the point, I like how she stands by her decisions all throughout, and she wasn't the type of character keep anything a secret from others, she was very open-minded and always speaks out. Sooji is a career-focused woman who slowly opens up to the world around her, and I love how much realizations she gets about the people she treasures and how that affects her relationship and career. Last among the friends is Horang, who was first focused on wanting marriage to further validate her love with Wonseok, but comes to a realization on the reality of what is needed for a successful marriage. Bomi is a woman who is quite technical, but also has a playful alter-ego to balance out her career smarts. I could literallyyy go on and on about this but I think this review will be too long if I do, so that's a summary of that bit.
For the story, I think it was really well made because of the logical decisions each character made, and I was always living for every moment when Jiho and Sehee beautifully describe their feelings over things. I personally think that this drama tapped into other things outside romance such as the social (family, work ethics, etc.) and economic (career, practicality, etc.) aspects that are very much real. I really also like how they crocheted the relationships together and I think having that crutch for the whole series made it even more interesting. I think the only drawback that I have with this drama is how rly good the first half was, and eventually the predictability followed, however I thoroughly enjoyed each episode veey much so still.
All in all, I feel like this drama was just such a perfect mix of romance and comedy, refreshing like a thermos of hot, citron tea after a night drinking.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised by how I liked this. It was very fluffy but not overly sweet for me. Seo Kang Joon was amazing in this one! For him to create such a big difference between Robot Nam Shin and Human Nam Shin is just amazing!!! I absolutely loved the parts where he faced himself head on. So Bong on the other hand, I'm sorry but I mostly disliked her here. I thought that being a female bodyguard would be empowering, but in the end, she wasn't even able to show her skill as one. She and Nam Shin had a good chemistry though, so I'll give her that.Next, I want to mention as well the amazing acting of Yoo Oh Sung. He did a stellar job as the antagonist, and really really got into my nerves as a bad guy. The faces of annoyance he makes is just so fitting of his character!
Lastly, I want to mention my favorite character of all here: Ji Yeong Hoon. Ngl I've been in love w Lee Joon Hyuk already before this so there's quite the bias but his role here is basically wiping everyone's butts after they poop, I am serious here hahausksks Anyway, he deserves what he got after all he's been through! And that's actually the thing I liked the most about this drama.
On the other hand, I strongly believe that human Nam Shin doesn't deserve any redemption. The fact that he had a happy ending pissed me off, because they really just forgot that he almost killed 2 people? Like.. okay I understand his actions of rebellion toward his grandfather and all the hatred inside him, but many character in the series warned him to not go that far, and yet he still did. He deserves jail time in my opinion, and thats that.
I was surprised to see this drama had a lot of OSTs, unfortunately I did not pay attention to it that much and I felt like only a few stood out. I did, however, listen to the full OST playlist and the songs are good.
One last thing, I couldn't help but compare this to Absolute Boyfriend, which I really liked when I was younger. I was afraid of how the ending would be because of that, and yeah the interactions between robot Nam Shin and So Bong just reminded me so much of Absolute Boyfriend aksksks
All in all, good drama, kinda predictable but with the stellar acting chops and chemistry it's easier to overcome what shortcomings I have of it. Well, except that I still strongly believe that human Nam Shin deserved to be in jail, if he did, I would probably rate this a little higher.

Ok, before anything else: I am a complete SUCKER for time traveling Kdramas! I love this concept SOOOO so much, and what makes this drama even more special to my heart is how special the connection between traditional and modern medicine is.I did not know anything about this before I started, I literally just knew it was a time traveling drama. With regards to the story, I'm not one to say this often but its just.. PERFECT for me. Although it had a simple plotline, it still had had the right mix of comedy, romance and history.. And I especially loved the chemistry between Kim Ah Joong and Kim Nam Gil! They did their characters very well, and I became so in love with Heo Im through his charafter growth throughout the series. I really love the morals questioned in this drama, as it is a very serious talk of life or death of people in the hands of doctors. Discrimination of classes both in the past and present in terms of medical treatment was tackled very well, and I saw the devastating effects of these all-throughout the drama. I love also how this has broken the trope of girl who heals guy, because almost every character around Heo Im contributed to his growth and not solely relying on Yeon Gyeong. On the other hand, Yeon Gyeong's character growth was also very touching to me. She was a very strong character as a doctor at the start, and lacking in the aspect of emotion because of her tragic past. Eventually, the wounds had to open up and seeing how she started connecting more emotionally than just medically to her patients and opening up to her grandfather touched me so much. Another character I'd like to specially mention is Oh Ha Ra for being a key person to both Heo Im and Yeon Gyeong. The characters surrounding the main roles were also quite wholesome, and seeing a proper resolution to all of them was a very nice touch, even til the very end.
In terms of the cast, well, the chemistry between Kim Nam Gil and Kim Ah Joong was just AMAZING. They worked so well with each other. I also had no particular problems with any other casting as well. The OSTs, though few, were very catchy for me and lovely in scenes they were added to.
In conclusion, this certainly is one of the finest Kdramas I have ever seen... It's so wholesome and had just the right amount of dramatic moments mixed with all the comedic and medical aspects, a great cast and OST.

The only good thing I can say say is that Wang Kai was okay! He definitely got part of the essence of Prof. Yukawa (his original name in the novel). Shi Hong unfortunately did not live to my expectation of his novel counterpart, and I absolutely disliked the extreme woodenness of his character and illogical decision making. How they established Shi Hong and Chen Jing's relationship was also not as well shown as it was in the novel as well. They cut out some great parts from the book, and added things for dramatic purpose which was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY to me.
BOTTOM LINE: PLEASE READ THE BOOK. It is so much better.
PS: I might edit this review when I watch its other adaptations.

Common sense found in a dead ditch.
Where do I even start? I honestly don't know. This drama was such a drag for me. I tried my best to keep in mind that this drama is 10 years old, and I've seen it before and remembered liking it very much. But this rewatch, it just made me feel so annoyed and disappointed.I have tolerated a lot of things from old, cheesy romcoms but I could not stand this one. First, for the good things: I absolutely love the strength of Ha Ji Won's character here. Gil Ra Im is very logical, right amount of being emotional and is such a practical, realistic person. Another thing I'd like to compliment here is the beautiful OSTs. I am honestly not so familiar with Hyun Bin, but he looks good. Those were pretty much the reasons why I tried my best to finish this, but it was not enough. Gil Ra Im is the complete opposite of Kim Joo Won, and you may argue that opposites attract, but I beg to differ in their case. I just find the attraction being too sudden, and the hints of her supposed emotions for Joo Won is pretty much non-existent and only became solidified when she actually said it. I couldn't believe how ridiculous that was, and I did not find that believable at all. Kim Joo Won is a complete asshole. I don't know what else I can add, but I was not for once attracted to his personality. A couple of characters in the drama mentioned that he'd changed after knowing Gil Ra Im, and I appreciate that, but the change was not enough for me to forgive his mistakes and overall arrogance and selfishness.
With that being said, I would also like to apologize to my mom for never finishing this. She motivated me after I ranted about the middle bit of this whole series, but I could not take it anymore.
I dedicate my 1 star for Ha Ji Won, half star for Hyun Bin, another half for their cute moments. The last star is for the OST, while baby Yoo In Na and Lee Jong Suk can share the last half star.

Me watching this series in one line: Go girl, give us nothing!
I had such high expectations of this series, as I'm a big fan of the time traveling genre, but everything went downhill from the very beginning. I did my best to like this, but unfortunately nothing in this drama was able to make me feel anything, at allThe only things I liked about this series is every interaction between the two Do Hwans, the confrontations involving Lee Rim and what he did to alter people's fates by interchanging their lives in Korea and Corea. I also liked Luna, and it's unfortunate they didn't let her play a more complex role in the story. Another key player who could've been more powerful in the story is the Prime Minister. She was supposed to be an empowering character, but KES didn't make her character grow at all, but instead made her boiled down to just a jealous woman. The story was also very fast-paced, with characters making unreasonable decisions all the time. The product placement was absolutely ridiculous as well.
All in all, I'd describe this drama similar to the way I found licorice: it looked sweet but it's actually pretty bland.

This drama was soooo cute!!! I have barely see sunlight for the past weeks because of being stuck at home due to quarantine but everytime I watched this series, my room just felt like sunlight filled it!This was a very lighthearted drama, and it reminded me so much of Coffee Prince (which I rewatched and loved recently!) because of the aspect of girl pretending to be something else for rich guy. The twists were just right here, and I love how the characters grew throughout the series, especially Mingyu! I really like the trust he built not only with the people around him but with himself and how far that got him, with Ji Ah being a factor to that motivation but not completely dependent to her. I also like how he (unlike other rich, arrogant guy characters) respected her space and did not act overly protective over Ji Ah and did not act overly irresponsible both over his work and personal life.
I really have nothing bad to say about this, it was so fluffy all-throughout and the dramatic parts were resolved well really there is only one part which I feel unsatisfied about but, its not a super big part but a curiosity. There were some points in the drama that became a little cliche but what is K-Dramas without them right? And fortunately, it fit quite okay.
Anyhow, I'm so glad I picked this up, watched it with my sister too, and its so nice to see my favorite actors with each other. I've loved Yoo Seung Ho since I first saw him in Missing You, and today I just reestablished my love for him really. I cannot get over how cute he and Soo Bin were here, and I'm also gonna give the rest of the Santa Maria team that, especially Uhm Ki Joon.
If you're looking for something light, fun and unproblematic, then this is for you!
P.S: I just want to point out again how I am so in LOVE with Yoo Seung Ho, he is baby.

I remembered the very basics of the story, where there is a girl pretending to be a guy and running a coffee shop and all.. But revisiting this now, may I just say, a MASTERPIECE!
There isn't much I can add to the many positive reviews for this drama here, but I absolutely love how this drama aged like wine. It tackles a topic that's rather taboo in Korea then (and fortunately even now) and handles it quite realistically. Things tackled in the drama are still of time, really the only disaster I can point out here would be the costumes (early 2000s fashion is just.. horrible). Anyway, compared to other girl pretends to be a guy dramas I've seen, My Chan is probably the best I've seen so far in terms of how her character was made and how she grew throughout the drama. I love also how this is a romcom, but just has the right amount of cheese for sweet moments (compared to other romcoms that I kinda get turned off from for being overly cheesy). Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo's chemistry here is just absolutely beautiful and seeing proper development even from side characters is another aspect of this drama that I really appreciate. This was super fun and I enjoyed so much that I binged all 17 episodes in one go,,, RIP to my body clock really.
Side note: Kim Jae Wook is absolutely beautiful here.

Before anything else, I want to just say that I am in pure shock of how absolutely captivated I was with this film. Even within the first few minutes of the movie, I had already thought that I would definitely be in for a ride. There isn't much for me to say about anything negative with this, and I cried a lot in this movie, especially since all the characters were able to move me quickly.Realizing how important they value not only their own lives, but even those around them and their dedication to their cause absolutely broke me. Seeing the destruction portrayed here left such a deep impression in me, especially since my country had gone through something similar many years ago. Reliving these moments through the movie further deepened those roots and I can't ever imagine how I'd be living through something like that.
Back to the movie though, everything was well put together, but I can definitely feel the dramatization in it. Even so, it's still quite the experience, and now there's just a big space of emptiness in my heart, a tinge of warmth in it because of the conclusion of the film. If you're into something gritty, yet still leaning to the dramatic side, then this is definitely for you.
Lastly, I did wish the two had the opportunity to meet, but I heard that Hinzpeter had passed away, God bless his soul. For Mr. Kim, I really hope that he and his family had survived through the manhunt.

Where do I even start about talking about this drama? Even if I think that, I know one way that perfectly summarizes it: a rollercoaster ride. This is one of the most intense and emotional dramas I've ever seen, and the rave reviews it gets is all very deserving. The thing I loved the most about this is how it explores the dynamics of different people and how no matter what status one has in life, in the end we are all the same, emotional human beings we are. I think I could go on and on about everything I enjoyed about this drama, but I feel like I would just keep writing about my understanding of the characters and the decisions they all made in the end.
I also want to commend how strong some of the female characters are? Although I don't stand with all their actions, in terms of how they were written they had proper growth throughout the series.
One thing I'd say I didn't like about this drama is the over-irrationality of decisions. For example, Joon Young being a super spoiled brat and him being very disrespectful to his mom despite everything he did for him. My mother watched this drama with me and we often talked about the things that annoyed us the most about the parent-child relationship between both Tae Oh and Sun Woo with Joon Young.
Anyway, to wrap this review up, I just want to say that I enjoyed this thoroughly despite the points I mentioned above. Watching this while it was ongoing made me control myself from binge-watching it and I would probably binge-watch it if I started it later.
In conclusion, Ji Sun Woo step on me. Men are trash. Good day.

Wholesome with a pang of angst
Hm, I don't really know where to start my review, as there honestly isn't much to talk about this movie. It was a simple story, but the feels were very much there. The movie starts out with the main couple's story, the goofy husband Shingo and the love of his life Chie. Like the rest of it, it was a simple meeting between them and there really wasn't much going on, until Chie got diagnosed with cancer. From the get go, I honestly did not really like Shingo, but he certainly has his moments in the movie. I was touched by a lot of points, and I loved Chie's spirit til the very end. It got too melodramatic at some points, but the emotional aspect redeemed it and Hana is absolutely cute!Vond je deze recentie nuttig?

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!
WOW! I did not expect to like this as much as I did! Honestly liked it better than the first movie, which is not common for me and sequels. In my opinion, the many twists and turns of fate of many of the characters here put me on the edge of my seat and I was constantly amazed by each and every one of them. It was interesting to see that this focused mostly on the lives of the guardians, and that definitely quenched my curiosity about their origins. I want to know more about the mechanics of how 'hell' works really, and what else the production has up their sleeve for the next two movies. I can't wait!!(Sidenote: Ju Ji Hoon in suspenders was so h*t.)

Logan Lee
God... this journey has been excruciatingly long but it was very much worth all of it. I gotta admit, there were some plotholes that weren't once even mentioned in season 2 (ex: what happened to Hyein? Why isn't she moving in with Suryeon?, etc) but overall still very outstanding. All the time I am reminded that I shouldn't be super prideful/greedy with things that really cannot be mine but I admire the determination all these people have to get what they want, literallyyy no matter how it costs. I also love how this drama really has no central good character (being that OYH is a murderer too) but at the very least there are people who willfully reflect on their actions and not bring it any further (ex: Jung Dooman, OYH, HYC).
With all that being said though, I feel so sorry for Suryeon.. She's been through literal hell and now that we've come to a point that she starts rising from the ashes once more, trouble is back to bite her once again.. Fuck! Logan Lee was one of my favorite characters from here and it's really a shame they had killed him off,,, I would usually doubt his death, especially with the number of people who basically resurrected from here but with the magnitude of how it was presented.. I feel awful! Which I guess is the point of this entire series anyway, makjangiest makjang ever.
I'm looking forward to what S3 has in store, especially with the freedom of Jenny's dad, somehow also Dan Tae and how the teenagers grow.. I think that'll be the center of S3.

"I guess that's just his fate. What can I do?"This quote from Mr. Lee comes to mind as I end this drama. For me, it was such a powerful line, because it's an outline of most of the things that goes on in this wild ride of a drama. It's so easy for one with power just to cut off someone they were associated with as soon as the skeletons in their closets get found out, yet the events just show that justice can prevail in the end, no matter what.
I admit this show gave me such a bright insight on how people's determination and belief in the power of justice can bring the shadiest things to light, so much so that I felt a little personal to it, because of how jealous I am of how rightful the characters are. I certainly wish that people like them existed in the fucked up government of my country!
Anyway, this was just amazing. I was blown away by how much I enjoyed this, and again by how determined both the swayed and unswayed characters were. I was very emotional about what became of certain characters, and the build up of drama was just excellent. The only thing I probably did not like about it was certain things that made me really sad, but at the same time thay pumped up the drama to the max.

Fancy desserts and hot guys. Need I say more?
I LOVED this one so much! It's very fluffy and a fun, light-hearted watch with only a sprinkle of dramatic elements. Honestly, the story itself isn't much but I especially loved Kim Jae Wook here! He is so cute and I understood how many people would fall in love with him immediately aaaa To think that I last saw him in Voice tho, his mind! Baby Yoo Ah In was an extra treat too! The only thing I did not really like about this was the musical parts, to me, it was not really necessary.Anyways, seriously, this was fun! I love desserts, I love hot guys. I love being gay. There we go!
