I nearly fell asleep

This lakorn was not enjoyable, because both the leading male & female hurt my eye. I really didn't like the look of either of them, so... What's the opposite of "eye candy"? I still remember 2010 'Ngao Kammathep' with Davika & Weir (*shudder*) and let's just say, this kind of story does not flatter to anyone.

Girl won some "super" model contest apparently because she's so tall. Guy (16 years older) is REALLY not my type. Still it wouldn't have to be this bad, I just cannot fathom why the lakorn's hair-dresser won't think of simply cutting the male's short hair actually SHORT so there's no need for any funny, slimy looking quiffs. To expose the high, receding forehead and make him look even older than he is... Perhaps I concentrated on the appearances too much in this? Well, there was not much else to go on, LOL.

This has 15 episodes 1,5 hours long all about how the girl ugly duckling turned into a swan (or from a "tom" to the same looking one, only with skirt and longer hair) so you forgive me my shallow assesment. Either way, the nang'ek here is seriously supporting the pra'ek courting HER AUNT, lol. What a nice start of a ROMANCE...:-p

He's pretty lukewarm in courting the aunt, as he is a flimsy guy in general. She has time to grow up in the meantime. When she returns a pretty girl, he starts liking her more than as a brother but doesn't admit it when prince (you know Nat Arnus, always portrays a prince:) directly asks. It's his usual avoidant approach like with the aunt. But Duen is grown and he actually looks scared of her, LOL. Well, she only needs average heels to be the same hight as him:)

Despite tender age, Bo Maylada sounds mature singer. Most lakorns she was in this was not put it in good use, this won't be an exception.

By episode 9, I catched myself looking more off than on the screen. I am dropping this, not finishing episode 9 (as of zero interest of seeing whatever happens next, or later in the story, or how it all ends).

Okay, this lakorn's main couple is... Not a couple, actually. Pra'ek, not too attractive guy with a slightly girly face (there's a scene with him crossdressed as a woman right in episode 1, and he actually looks better that way: never a good sign) is married to someone else and lives with his wife, who's older than him, and her father in her huge house. She doesn't want him to work and wishes to keep him home as a pet. She's basically unsatisfied with him not paying his attention to her for 1 minute. His father, obviously the owner of the huge mansion they live in, also instructs him to keep her happy at all costs. Which makes it difficult for him to as much as go to work, which is something he likes to do (it's implied his wife could support him if he let her). There, he can spend time with his "friend", who obviously hates him and also meet up with nang'ek, who's also older than him, acts like schoolgirl and looks like 31-year old Kwan Usamanee. In short: what an unhappy pra'ek.

Watching this, I wasn't much happier. I didn't like any of the cast. I didn't like any of the characters (except maybe the rich house's servants, lol). And I didn't really care much about who ends up with whom. Pra'ek's wife starts an affair with another man - who obviously just wants to get even with pra'ek - right in episode 2... I did not care. I didn't like anyone there. Maybe Gap Thanavate's support role was cute. But watching 15 more episodes of this? That's a no. Runtime was so long it was a strain to even finish second epi... Of course they added some gunpoint action to the lakorn (if at least pra'ek was not a policeman... sigh) to definitely dissuade me from watching and they succeeded.

Slap & Kiss of 2 people who can't kiss and neither of them is attractive

I've already seen 2006 version, honestly nothing much to be worthy of being remaked, but perhaps writers are REALLY out of ideas.

Oil Thana wasn't my type of a guy, but Ko Vasin looks more like a girl... So I can't even COUNT him as a guy. Also, while I never liked Kwan Usamanee, the new nang'ek Pinkploy Paparwadee is no improvement, either. Like, HE is way cuter than her. Perhaps this is our future? Girly looking guys and manly looking girls...

What I also remember from the older version is the character who was the older sister of the nang'ek. There was something likeable about the actress and something graceful and humble about the character, that even though she was a "kept woman", I actually respected and liked her way more than nang'ek. She had class in her behavior which the nang'ek definitely lacked. The only times I rooted for the nang'ek was when she tried to protect this older sister... So, as I've never liked the nang'ek anyways, it's not that important if I don't like her new portraying actress. But who is playing the older sister in this new version?

Well, I'm neither repulsed nor impressed by her, and in general... I started skipping through this lakorn since the 2nd epi. Mostly draggy and awkward scenes... Not much to hold my interest... And there is THIRTY FOUR episodes of this. Lakorns I DO like never have that many! LOL. Truth about THIS lakorn gets revealed in 4th episode of these 34. Because there is the 1st kiss. It's not a good kiss. So there. We have another overly long thing viewer is bound to skip through: and there's not even any good bit to skip TO.

So, precisely at that point I did know that for myself, it's perfectly ok to drop the remaining 30 episodes and save a lot of time. (I skimmed through the remaining episodes nonetheless, I wanted to skim all of them but there was so many and I got tired... It's a slap & kiss of two people that can't kiss, and neither of them is attractive... I've seen enough from most of the key scenes... So basically yes, I dropped this after 4 episodes out of 34:)

Epi 1: Why is it so hard to simply find enjoyable romantic series to watch? This lakorn has a synopsis that immediatelly puts me off, I'm not interested in any crime lines and in anything supernatural. It's always stupid and never helps any romance. In the first minutes, this spurres a load of action scenes on the viewers, before they can even start to care about ANY character in there (after 1hr and 25 min runtime, the police has a meeting which finally makes for an introduction of the characters that is missing at the beginning). The thirties daddy Off Chanapol is shown wearing either heavy makeup, or fisherman's hat. Other lead is Kitkong Khamkrith, who seems very stiff. Maybe he needs to be a police officer for his "acting" to work? I like Anyarin Terathananpat, but what of it, when I'm not interested in anything/anyone that surrounds her (here). But her '2016 Rissaya' is still not fully subtitled. I'm waiting for it so I'm watching this meanwhile...

Everyone who watched this praised the secondary couple. Just because they're not COMPLETELY boring as the lead one. It tries to flatter the feminists as she is proving herself to be "better crime boss" than her brother. Well, if he's a stupid person, then it's not that hard. Off Chanapol is not so young anymore but can do more than just one facial expression so he easily beats the male lead acting-wise, especially while portraying the character overflowing with various tricks. I admit that at times it's funny (about the only reason I did not DROP this lakorn in episode 1). Pitty he isn't more of a looker (like Cee Siwat in 'Lep Krut' - vaguely similar role) and she a better actress.

Apart from him I don't see anyone pulling their weight, so if Off Chanapol is the best actor here far and wide, it would be difficult for him to keep the whole series going (probably the reason why this is 12 episodes only).

Epi 2: Anyone can recognize Off Chanapol in his makeup and hat, so it's kinda silly. Also, he's not THAT young for most of the antics.

Epi 3: Getting bored.

Wow, in the main cast we have two women, who are both super awesome. I remember Yui Chiranan as the sexiest, kick-ass female in 'Lep Krut', and she was 37 in there(!)... The exactly 10 years younger Thisa Varitthisa, also distinctively charming woman, and by the way the only convincing onscreen partner I've ever watched Weir with. Wow, what a combo... And with them, as the only main male, we have... who? Who forgot to take their medication? Who did this to the audience? What a colossal waste.

In his very first scene, he is called 'Steve' and he attempts to speak english. I can tell you one thing. I had to pause this series at 2min42sec and I just wanted to close it for good.

Okay... I did know about the cast and I did want to give this a chance. It looks it might have an intriguing story, though it is clear this would NOT be my eye candy, to say the least lol. There's just Great Sapol in a side-role to complete the remarkably bland male cast, and he's to be paired with uninteresting girl, too (wished it at least was KiewKoi Kwankawin).

There is a funny scene where the main guy's boss makes a big fuss about him being absent from work without note. She wants to fire him, but when he apologizes saying he had an accident during which he lost his memory and now only remembers his childhood, she lets him go back to work, without bothering about how is a person who knows nothing past their childhood qualified to work (there or anywhere). It's always SO funny with any amnesia plot. No matter if real or pretended. He tells her it might take years to get his head straight and she says okay, go to work now lol.

I'll try one more episode of this but do not give much hope...

Dropped by episode 2.

Ae Isariya Saisanan is now unrecognizable (in compare to 2009 'Sarp Phusa'), perhaps she had some surgery to make her face look completely different. Her character in here, Wandee, decided not to solve her marital problems between herself, but to drag her daughter through divorce and then make her live with struggling single mother, which un/surprisingly, the daughter does not appreciate. On the other extreme, Tong's mother tolerates her husband's indiscretions to grothesque extent, just to keep the family together.

It's funny how it's shown that both Rose & Tong are unhappy and would probably prefer to switch places. As they both appreciate different things, which are the exact opposite of what they receive, and which happen to be the only ones available to the other girl. On the somber note, both Dueandem & Wandee try to be good mothers in their own way. Wandee's way proves to have more weakness. Resulting thus in weaker character of her daughter. Dueandem is more self-sacrificing, resulting in her daughter's character being stronger, more mature but also it comes with a price.

I think the audience can easily relate to the "slice of life" story, of course depending on what kind of home a person comes from. Then there comes Nike Nitidons's character, wooing Rose's mother with sweet words like from fairy tales. The false note immediatelly sounds very prominent. From the drama point of view, the show has standard quality of music, acting, editing etc. but of course it all kinda feels flat as any kiss is so obviously faked. I can accept this kind of lukewarm performance if the show at least offers romantic escape, but problem with 'Club Friday' is they try to bless us with "real life" stories which they then work with the same way as the fictional ones so the only difference is that it's not romantically enjoyable. Therefore, I don't need to watch this all unfold (obviously no Nike Nitidon/Nonny Nutcha steamy kiss scene awaits us anyways:) and can suffice with 1 episode only.

Okay... Synopsis sounds stupid enough... A high school drama, but with "secret organization"! Investigating "mysterious occurrences in their school". Wow, how badass. First scene features boys dressed in their typical shorts hiding from each other in the empty classroom while speaking loudly on the phone. Wow, how badass, like some spy drama. LOL. Okay is this a parody or they were not aware how it looks ridiculous. Watching opening credits with dramatic music, obviously not. UNintended parody, then. Obviously they were out of ideas how to make yet another high school drama thrilling enough, and it backfired bigtime. I think Nanon Korapat is better than this, but never mind.

He appears in episode 1, wearing the boys shorts but making a badass face (lol), of course being called some moron nickname, because they are all thai, so naturally it's not cool enough just having a thai name and so everyone has to have english name like a Bed or Candle or Table or Stool, lol. It's nothing new it's in every thai drama. He comes to this school with a big purpose, of course. Investigating some badass secret. All involving villain teachers, villain teacher's kids, villain school janitors and villain school cabinets. I almost started shivering. This WILL be dramatic (oh, the scary mask I've seen in the opening credits! LMAO).

I'm afraid I don't need to learn the great secret this show concentrates so heavily on. I kinda value my time more, I am weird like that:))

Okay, Wawaa is 30, Perth is 20 and Peter Corp Dyrendal is 46?

Okay, first episode, instead of anything else, I actually felt kinda sorry for Perth. They made him be half naked and wriggle his small body most of the episode. After all, he is quite young. lol.

Then, of all the possible plots, HE is supposed to have some kind of history with the FL. Several years back, he was fat and ugly. She treated him wrong and now understandably doesn't recognize him. Okay, I'd say several years back he was still a kid and too young for going on dates, lol. So, I did not appreciate the flashback scenes with horrible looking prostetics. WTF??

Then, I couldn't unsee it in my head. When I looked on Perth, I still saw the ugly monster (I speak this harsh about the prostetics, naturally fat kid would still be okay, no matter how homely). And this show, it's either that, or the "immortal face" of Peter Corp Dyrendal? My god, what did they put Wawaa in? At first, it was interesting we have the main girl who is a player. But who can she play with in this monster town?

Even if I forget the intro with Perth, his and Wawaa's characters interaction then continues with him saying she's the age of his mother. Yeah, some girls can conceive quite early in some cultures. Still, I don't believe that Wawaa would be able in 10 years old. She could just calmly tell him that. Instead, she starts bickering with him stupidly. What am I watching? What did they do? Can't they make watchable show? I am not that picky. But this is something viewers can be proud they dropped.

Pancake is perhaps tad old and tad gaunt to be convincing as an undercover agent chopping each bad guy with one arm.

As for Hunz Ysariy, I'm sorry, but I find 48-year old Big Sarut still more an eye candy, than him (or than "Dream" Kandanai). On the other hand, he makes rather convincing blonde woman, which only proves he is not an attractive MAN.

As for the plot, we have, er... amnesia? Shouldn't it be like banned by now? LOL. Or, shouldn't the writers WANT to write something else, by now?

But, never mind all that... I started zoning out during 2nd episode already. I am dropping this for the complete lack of INTEREST, not for bad cinematography, ..., etc.

Did not pique any interest in me in any way

The synopsis didn't sound promising: Can 9 years of nothing develop into something more? More than what, sounds the first question. Hundred times zero is still zero... Still, I tried 1 episode of this.

About the secretary from this drama's title, whom the ML keeps for 9 years: First time she showed up, I realized it was Kim Na Na. From 'City Hunter'. Don't remember the actual actress' name... About 32 years old, now. Actually older than the lead guy. No wonder that she no longer wants to be all work no play. "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim"? She'd probably like to have a life, now.

Now, we are shown she's such kind of a personal assistant who personally selects a necktie for the guy every morning, and puts it on him, too (that looks kinda husband-and-wifey:) At the beginning, we watch one of those mornings. He seems to be active in being pleased with himself. My, after 9 years, she must be TIRED with him. Yet she never loses her polite smile no matter what he says, and overall seems extremely well adjusted to his ways and never fails to meet his expectations. Her behavior is absolutely flawless, you have to admire her. After first 15 minutes of the runtime, she informs him of her decision to quit.

I must say that as an viewer, I was not even looking forward a possible romance, here. Both ML and FL were of age when most people are already married and/or have a kid, and neither of them was my type so much that I'd be particularly keen on watching their office romance. Actually, the only cast member I was pleased to see was Kang Ki Young, whom I remembered from his previous funny roles. He indeed brings funny moments in here. Else, the first episode consists mainly of the ML trying to find the reason why his secretary wants to leave. In the end, she tells him the truth: something I wrote in my 2nd paragraph. Nothing's wrong with her in the slightest. But, what's up with the boss?:) To be continued...

Episode 2: Kang Ki Young keeps to amuse me and after all, even ML amuses me. It's good that he's such a narcissist. It's funny. Also, he's actually secluded in that, with his secretary being the only woman close to him (he also has some kind of phobia preventing him from skinship with women). Oddly enough, his total self-conceit actually gives him some kind of innocence. It's good that the writer thought of such story, else his interest in bland, couple years older woman would not look believable. Episode 2, secretary Kim is already training her successor. We watch her early flashback when she was a newbie herself. In other words, when she was still human. She had to turn into stone to serve him with such perfection all those years. She in fact would have quit immediatelly, had she not needed to pay off some family debt... Now with that debt finally gone, it is high time for her to become alive again, to LIVE her life, before she's too old for it... Her boss, on the other hand, is in state of barely covered panic, upon losing all the safety & convenience she provides. So, when hearing that she'd like to marry, he proposes to her. When hearing (from his subordinate/only friend) it's needed from him to date her first, he tries to somehow court her. When the whole office goes out for a drink (which itself is questionable: who needs to see their coworker's ugly side when drunk?) he joins, to everyone's poorly covered dismay. During the party, he tries to accommodate secretary Kim clumsily, while everyone around keeps getting drunk. I wondered whether she'll get drunk too, and plainly tell him that she had to sacrifice her best years to him, and how much she now wants to be free from his slavery. She stays sober, though. Merely asks him why did he do everything he usually does not, that night. His response is like it's confirming that he lives on a different planet from her. She learned to cope with that well in work-related matters. But what to do now when he means to get personal? Maybe, it would be better had she got drunk. Instead, they text each other like a pair of teenagers... Resulting in next morning, he addresses her personal rebuke as work-related. He does not understand that she meant those traits unacceptable for her boyfriend to have, not for her boss. Then he tells HER to refrain from speaking of personal matters at work, LOL. Ugh... Anyone wanna date their boss? I'd say it's generally irksome with any personality or situation. Thank god for all these far-fetched drama elements which actually make it somehow bearable. The bottom line of this episode: We were given a couple of hints in the flashbacks. First, when she yelled back at him, he actually responded with respect. Second, she was the one first offering to tie his necktie. He didn't require it from the new secretary...

Episode 3: The boss is trying to be all romantic and takes his chosen one on a date according to her preferences. Turns out, secretary Kim has a totally childish taste (riding a merry-go-round, watching fireworks, receiving stuffed animal) which isn't a good fit neither with the character nor with the 32 year old portraying actress. She doesn't look the same like in 'City Hunter' anymore... Also, that ponytail she keeps wearing at work, it looks like fake hair. Same for Park Seo Joon, he looked cute in 2 years earlier 'Witch's Romance', interesting what difference can 2 years make. His looks remind me of a porcelain doll. Nice, but not very manly... Overall, looking at the main couple, we can see two people who already started aging. So, they don't have that much time for nonsense.

Episode 4: Getting bored... Don't really care whether these two would start to date. Putting this on hold.

Episode 5: After putting the show on ice for 3 months, I watched episodes 4 & 5. And... This show just does not stir any interest in me in any way.

Okay: We look at the poster and we can see that Punpun Sutatta bloomed into a total sex GODDESS. And the plot is supposed to be about her dating a BLIND guy?? Anyways. I wanted to watch this at least in 4K, but settled for 1080p:-D Anyways... Can someone explain why we always have to have Ampere next to a beautiful girl? Both eye and ear suffer. After watching previous Bangkok Rak "Stories" (typically, story was actually missing in those) the last thing I expected was some quality plot. But a blind fortuneteller who looks like Non Chanon is probably not the most sexy thing I can imagine the sexy girl to encounter, LOL.

Also, he's only went blind recently and there are other quite depressing things happening. At episode 3, I can say this thing is quite opposite of sexy story... Why do we have to watch Punpun in a thing full of pain and crying I do wonder.

Episode 4... I somehow wished to turn blind myself. Rather than watch this. It's like, everything I am NOT interested to watch, lol.

I love the poster of this, but that's IT.

Watching the 1st episode of this remake... Not only is the main couple's cast... er... different, they don't seem to be the same characters. I mean the show is supposed to be funny, but the main characters' behavior was not this silly.

You must understand how painful this is for me. 'Tok Kra Dai Hua Jai Ploy Jone 2003' was the 1st lakorn I EVER watched. It would never occur to me before to watch something from Thailand. Had I not stumbled upon it on Viki years back, had I not liked it so much, I would NEVER watched the 400 other thai lakorns. It was very bad picture quality. It was bad sound quality, it had ridiculous looking visuals... But it was SO romantic AND funny at the same time! There was the classic bullsh*t from lakorns, but not much of it. And what I also appreciated was, that both nang'ek & pra'ek were very likeable. Now, Pae Arak is someone who already reached 35 and changed and is not the young hot guy anymore and now is supposed to be the "new" star in 'My Girl' (where the original guy was younger) or in THIS lakorn?! Where the "good old" Tik WAS YOUNGER! And if we talk about likeable, you know how RARE is to find a likeable GIRL. That's what Mam was. That's what 100 today girls are not but unfortunatelly, that wasn't enough: they had to put distinctively unlikeable girl in this. I did watch her in 2 previous shows. First I disliked, second I dropped. I know viewers of this who don't know the old version were surprised how cute & good story this has (The countryside setting done right. NO birth secrets. NO revenge. NO cross-dressing. NO rich people. NOTHING supernatural. NO hidden/switched identity. NO rape. Ridiculous crime element which was cute NOT annoying. And even children who were not annoying, but adorable and actually added to the romance!) but it was stolen from THERE. The only quality here is the repeated one.

Episode 2: LOADS of Pae Arak and Gypso Ariigantha. Sorry, but that's a big no no. I am just not interested in this, so I am dropping this even before Ice Athichanan appeared, I didn't finish the second epi to the end, I'll rather watch the old version again, or something else. But hey, Tik isn't dead. There is a 2018 show with him called 'My Detective Buddy Is A Ghost', and while 41, Tik still looks okay in there (definitely better than Pae Arak) PLUS there is Chakrit, who is SO adorable as haunting ghost, lol. It's funny and not the forced kind funny, like here. So, I'm off:)

I wished New Wongsakorn & Nut Devahastin had their roles EXCHANGED

I also don't know why was Yard Yardthip hired in this one, because she is actually the same type as Ploy and many scenes she is visually too similar to her. The story goes that we have a woman experiencing loss and heartbreak, betrayed by everyone she ever trusted. It's not a cheerful story, so it's kinda important what we have here to balance it up and I'm afraid that 39 year old New Wongsakorn was not enough eyecandy to cheer me up here, lol.

This lakorn was a bit difficult to enjoy. I had to watch Nut Devahastin in yet another sleazy-bad-guy role (why the hell do they cast HIM as that??) he seems cursed with since after 'Ngao Asoke' (where he beat the lead guy to dust). Also, there were many scenes of two femmes fighting (over a guy at that... where is their pride?) who looked almost the same (Yard & Ploy obviously shared the same hairdresser and make-up artist) which looked ridiculous, especially given they were in their THIRTIES (I think PHYSICAL fighting belongs to SCHOOL dramas at the most, lol). Was it really THAT fundamental which one of them would the guy choose?

After mere 4 episodes I got tired with this and decided to move on to another lakorn.

I'm afraid that as thai lakorns go, their quality is actually higher when it's just comedy, than when they aspire for any "crime line" for real. This one might look hilarious at the beginning scene, where dramatic music is used filming a guy drawing out a... gun? No, a camera!:) Pitty they didn't stick with that, soon we watch a "real" gunfight like in any other lakorn and the entertainment of it actually drops. Aum Patcharapa is not so young anymore. Her doing the screaming girlie and acting silly is not endearing anymore. She keeps shouting and barking at each other with 7 years younger Weir, who nevertheless isn't 19 years old, either. I wondered if at least these actors still enjoy shooting such scenes that make them act like annoying pair of loud whippersnappers? Because I'm tired just watching... and listening. Seriously, if you have someone whose head is not aching at the moment, make them watch regular thai lakorn, it would begin to ache. If you have person who already has a headache and you make them watch, they might drop dead, lol. I for one definitely set my volume way lower beforehand just every time I'm tuning into a thai series, by now:)

Dropped during episode 2.

I delayed watching this drama as it has exactly same leading couple as 'My Girl', which belongs into my absolute k-drama top 5, so I was afraid of my image being spoilt (I remember attempting 'Miss Ripley': I just couldn't bear watching it). But, long time has passed. So, no more worries...

Lee Da Hae still looks pretty (I'm not into her dyed hair and makeup but whatever), still looks considerably young, only perhaps her breasts are way lower (they shouldn't have her wear evening robes showing it), her character is intense in her quest for her dead father's justice, which is good, still I did not care for her so much.

As for Lee Dong Wook, the physical change that happened with him is way more than Lee Da Hae's breast & dyed hair. He looks like a different guy. I no longer like him, nevertheless I think those who did not like him BEFORE might like him now. To be perfectly honest, I did not enjoy watching his character here. Whether he looked like his vein was going to burst, or he was making his "poker face", I found him more annoying than intriguing. Because I definitely was not THAT invested in his character's drama, or in the whole story of 'Hotel King' (it's NOT the name of the hotel, btw.) and rather thought the 32 episodes instead of the usual 16 unnecessary.

I considered dropping this drama after 4 episodes...

I took a pause before watching episode 5. I tried again with fresh eye. It definitely looks Lee Dong Wook's acting got WORSE, not better. There is so much of orchestra and string music. It all has such a heavy, tiring atmosphere... It's 5th episode out of 32, too early to be storming the viewers with all this BEFORE making them care, first. I still don't know what the main guy's deal is. I only know that he looks ridiculous making his 33-year old face all super strained about it.

I'm afraid I really don't have this much patience. Had this been 12-episode series, perhaps. Alas, no. And I don't need to know the big secret... So, if I'll miss seeing Lee Da & Lee Dong, I'll better watch 'My Girl' for 100th time.
